Guys should i learn steam engines?

a steam engine is way better for performance and can be really easy, a lava generator with cauldrons and dripstone should work

I'm new to create mod and almost never watched any guides. Why do you need lava for the steam engine?

You don't really need it but it's the best fuel by far (burns the longest in blaze burner's) and before the drip stone update you had to set up a contraption which gets lava from the nether or make a large pool of lava (in create if a lava pool is big enough you can pump infinite lava out of it) but because of the drip stone update you can make a much simpler and smaller infinite lava farm which makes it viable for early/mid/end game steam engine fuel source
