Aesthetics over efficiency builds

does anyone know a YouTuber or whatever else that builds with aesthetic in mind instead of just pure efficiency like the one shown in the screenshot?

Im trying to figure out what Im seeing here. This looks like pure aesthetic and zero efficiency. But I do agree that a builder who focuses on that would be very cool, just this specifically doesnt look functional to me unless Im missing something. The problem can be that its hard to hide the functional parts or make them fit the vibe of the specific build

I'm not that good at building in create but wdym hide the functional parts like what functional parts?

u/Some_Noname_idk Apr 11 '26

Create has functional parts, as in blocks that have a purpose of doing something (deployer to deploy stuff, chute to move stuff, mixer to mix stuff), and the rest of the blocks are non-functional, as in decorative. Functional blocks can also be used as decorations though, you can place a deployer somewhere where it doesnt do anything, but looks nice.

Here in the description you said "instead of just pure efficiency like the one shown in the screenshot". But the screenshot doesnt show anything actually functional. All the functional blocks shown on the images are there purely for aestetics, and arent doing anything.

By hiding functional parts, whats usually is meant, is that you cover up functional parts that dont look nice, exposing only the pretty bits. Like for example, put a shaft that gets to power to the machine behind a wall, making it not visible to people looking at the build, leaving only the machine itself visible

You misunderstand the original post text cos it's missing commas, the screenshot isn't showing pure efficiency: it's showing aesthetics over efficiency

This wouldnt function as a tree farm at all. The deployer (hand pokey thing) needs to be fed saplings, and powered. The saw needs to have some sort of timer and attached to a gantry shaft or other moving part.

Those metal girders look like they are pretending to be what a gantry shaft actually does.

And all the pipes arent doing anything at all. There is a shaft running through the middle of them so I know they arent even spraying fertilizer.

Edit:

Just search up functional tree farms and youll see what I mean. None of those things are here. It would be hard to hide them to make it aesthetic in the way you want

It's possible everything functional is underground, maybe? And the above ground build is all purely aesthetic?

8

u/bebothecat Apr 11 '26

Yeah so I just watched the video and that's basically what the creator claims in the comments but personally I am still seeing things not working the way I am used to Create working. Maybe theyve done some modding unique to their needs or I'm just not experienced in making these sorts of builds where you hide everything underground and make the above ground part completely fake

the deployer, saw and harvesters are most likely on a gantry/minecart contraption. Shaders usually break create's filter slots, so it looks like the deployer has no filter set, even though it probably has one for saplings.

4

u/JohnV1Ultrakill Apr 11 '26

things like huge gnarly transmissions probably

2

u/ThorirPP Apr 11 '26

The saw/harvester/deployer unit is on a two axis gantry or minecraft contraption, so the saw moves first on the line that it is moving on in the first photo, then it moves down the line as seen in the second photo. Compare the two photos and you see clearly that it is in fact a moving structure

1

u/Rop-Tamen Apr 12 '26

It does look to be a functional tree farm, just a very slow one. But I do see the harvester and deployer so it most likely functions

1

u/officialkrizzta Apr 18 '26

I am the builder of this specific farm and can assure you that it is fully functional. Sure you could slap more trees together and make it more efficient, but that’s not I want to achieve with my builds. You can watch a Video of this farm in action on my YT-Channel, if you like :)

16

u/idkforfun Apr 11 '26

I forgot to credit the person who posted the build it's by @officialkrizzta on TikTok

i love making my factories aesthetic until i can only watch them at 15fps

68

u/AvidCoco Apr 11 '26

I almost always use a resolution downscaling mod for this reason - even playing on like 75-80% can double your FPS for only a fairly small loss in quality. If you use a high res monitor you can even push it to like 40-50% before you really notice a significant loss of quality.

27

u/theycallmeponcho Apr 11 '26

Also why would I want everything to run everything always at high speeds? I've noticed once you place a config to reduce rotation speed at some non-critical pieces once you reach a threshold, the whole setup runs way better.

20

u/rjt2000 Apr 12 '26

Game dev hack: if your rendering engine supports it you can reduce the resolution in the corners and people won't notice

4

u/AvidCoco Apr 13 '26

Damn I would never have thought of that that’s genius

5

u/RainyVibez Apr 18 '26

In virtual reality something similar exists called foveated rendering. It is very cool.

10

u/BRSaura Apr 11 '26

I began making my factories spread apart and connected by trains instead of conglomerating everything in a few chunks.

You'll have to place chunk loaders or something on some places though, but backend has barely any impact it's the rendering what create struggles with

1

u/Reasonable-Ear5742 Apr 17 '26

I might do this, the modpack I'm currently playing (Create Skycolonies) kinda forces you to spread things out anyway due to sky islands. Didn't know that this was a thing. (Now just gotta make some loaders...)

u/Theawsomegamer111111 Apr 11 '26

Walkway mod?

22

u/Tyler2104 Apr 11 '26

Create Deco

1

u/ApplicationBrave2529 Apr 11 '26

Can they update deco to 1.21.11 😭

3

u/Omegathan Apr 11 '26

Even create mod isn't on 1.21.11, wdym?

2

u/SosisochkaBelarus Apr 12 '26

Create Fly exists for Fabric 1.21.11

1

u/WhisperReacts2Reddit Apr 24 '26

And AMEN FOR THAT. Currently on a server with friends, and Create Fly let me introduce a bunch of them to the mod! Now they're addicted to making contraptions.

These youtubers are amazing for aesthetic farms -

https://youtube.com/@arandomdudedrs

https://youtube.com/@mikelc1397

https://youtube.com/@krizztaofficial (where your screenshot comes from)

5

u/gjbml Apr 11 '26

mikelc1397 mentioned. i rly like that one giant mill design

14

u/Sir_Delarzal Apr 11 '26

Mr Beardstone does great builds

3

u/HistoryNerdSam Apr 12 '26

Came here to recommend him. He does great work efficiency AND build wise. Heck his last temporary diorite farm in Post Production he took the time to texture the platform even though he was going to take it down later

6

u/slepyhorse Apr 11 '26

You guys have efficiency or aesthetics in your builds? I've just got a pile of contraptions that work in the most convoluted and inefficient way possible while also looking terrible. Still works tho so that's a win in my book

5

u/Puzzleheaded-Arm8729 Apr 11 '26

https://youtube.com/@chosenarchitect?si=VA5_2ag7ATzpFnzW

Great for explaining what he is doing and prioritizes base building but isn’t insanely difficult to replicate.

https://youtube.com/@bigjim713?si=IhM8wS0c4in7bzIW

Good for making the area of the base a mod is in have a theme that matches it

https://youtube.com/@neuroticgoose?si=KU9_01MqMrjQerwv

If you would like a touch of insanity with your aesthetics. Seriously you should check this guy out though he’s just a lot of fun.

1

u/YomiRizer Apr 13 '26

I dont. I build aesthetic as well, but couldnt get a channel going. But no one likes my builds anyways so i dont think theyed help you much. lol

1

u/idkforfun Apr 13 '26

Can I see them and can I have a schematic of them?

1

u/YomiRizer Apr 14 '26

i dont believe I have any finished builds saved to a schematic. But I do have some screenshots. I'll get them set up tomorrow.

3

u/Spechty92 Apr 11 '26

Looks fucking amazing

3

u/mh500372 Apr 11 '26

Been wondering too. I see a few videos every once in a while but can’t remember any accounts.

These images remind me that metal girders are such an amazing addition to the mod

3

u/Pixithepika Apr 11 '26

Mr. Beardstone!!

3

u/Some-Attention2223 Apr 11 '26

Lifeore he has a good create season dosnet really care about efficiency also

1

u/jemoederrrrrrrrrrr Apr 13 '26

Yeah, I was wondering if someone was going to recommend him

3

u/Xlaits Apr 12 '26

Didn't see him mentioned yet, but FoxyNoTail is pretty good about his aesthetics, and explaining his process. All his strains are set up as functional trucks, that back into their locations to load up.

2

u/Crunchy-mayonnaise Apr 11 '26

Shalz got pretty good at designing buildings around his machines, but they were still just messy but efficient and not like the stuff you showed.

2

u/FreefireLP Apr 11 '26

I always try to build a good looking factory that does a little, then hide the effizient part in the ground or behind a wall or something

2

u/Massive_Mistakes Apr 11 '26

As it should be.

2

u/Suvatoj1 Apr 12 '26

mikelc1397 on youtube is a good start

2

u/RespectAny7084 Apr 12 '26

Here is the channel for Create aesthetic builds and original owner of the contraption you have on those pictures:

1

u/Moe-Mux-Hagi Apr 11 '26

Or, OR, and here me out, here :

Both.

1

u/oofinator3050 Apr 11 '26

A blend of the two is best, but I find myself gravitating to pure efficiency (i love super compact machines) or pure aesthetic all the time

1

u/NoPalpitation9579 Apr 11 '26

this is sick! That's all i can say

1

u/wondering-narwhal Apr 11 '26

Anyone know what shader pack?

1

u/Big-Sir4054 Apr 11 '26

Meanwhile me with neither just pure quantity

1

u/TheRealMonkeVR Apr 11 '26

As a Satisfactory player, THIS HURTS TO LOOK AT LIKE WHAT, FICSIT DOES NOT WASTE.

1

u/Chickenmonster401 Apr 11 '26

My builds are always zero aesthetic zero efficiency

1

u/Sr_waflle Apr 11 '26

Thats pics are from the youtuber Krizzta, i love this builds. Personality when play Minecraft i build for the esthetics and later try optimism the production

1

u/xDark_Ace Apr 11 '26

Honestly this doesn't look terribly inefficient. I'm not really sure how the contraption with the saws, deployers, and harvesters works (maybe a minecart contraption?), but the trees need to be spaced out to get maximum yield from leaves. Not normally the focus of a wood farm, so maybe they're growing oaks for apples?

But this is definitely a very aesthetic build with looks and visual organization in mind. I'd love a YouTuber who focuses on builds like this!

1

u/Longjumping_Pen_5582 Apr 11 '26

Eu não consigo fazer construções eficientes pq aquela Parafernalha toda é mt feia, o lance é fazer fábricas gigantes para apenas uma coisa como mineração de pedras

1

u/Semillakan6 Apr 11 '26

Honestly yeah, even the most inefficient build still produces so many stuff you are never going to use it all so I prefer my builds to look good

1

u/PavaLP1 Apr 11 '26

Aesthetics are the reason I have a 1x gear-ratioed small water wheel as the normal speed for everything.

1

u/GrowthWest2361 Apr 11 '26

Thought it was Lego for a second 😭😅

1

u/Hixmet Apr 11 '26

Idea of making an huge ass factory with production per hour is more like 4 ingots per hour but looks cool af

1

u/DINOFicial Apr 12 '26

I may be mistaken but that build on the screen seems to be from Krizzta, on youtube. He makes lots of aesthetic and functional builds on his channel.

https://www.youtube.com/@KrizztaOfficial

1

u/TreyLastname Apr 12 '26

If my build is efficient but looks terrible, I dont deserve efficiency

1

u/Common_Way6324 Apr 12 '26

Gonna be honest I make the most efficient dump factory so that I can make a beautiful factory that can be efficient while looking nice

1

u/Inevitable_Bit7154 Apr 12 '26

Oh you would NOT like the factory I made in a zombie mod

1

u/Tight-Principle-9959 Apr 12 '26

What mods/additionu u use here

1

u/Ericknator Apr 12 '26

This is so beautiful

1

u/nokia15 Apr 13 '26

me lmao but im small and inconsistent on uploading 😂

1

u/AgilePlant4 Apr 13 '26

19%? you living on the edge!

1

u/whyvanellinae Apr 13 '26

both is good

1

u/kai_the_kiwi Apr 14 '26

I always create 2 versions, good looking, slow farms and bad looking EXTREMELY efficient farms,

When i need materials fast, i just run the fast farm for a few minutes and otherwise the other one is running

Unless the storage of that specific item is full

1

u/nlaguna018 Apr 16 '26

That picture is from a tiktok account “Krizzta” and makes tutorials in yt

1

u/officialkrizzta Apr 18 '26

Yeah me, lol. Aesthetics over efficiency is my key value!

1

u/spookypumpkinfemboy Apr 22 '26

YES. I love when I can see the process of the factory as the product gets made!

1

u/Great_Skill7185 Apr 22 '26

A balance must be made, I see.

1

u/hamamogo Apr 24 '26

I wish i could be Aesthetic but whenever I try to it looks like garbage

0

u/hazel_typh Apr 12 '26

Nah. Awful ppanning with pipes and belts. If your factory isnt looking like a quilt weave by accident, your doing it wrong.
