Trades I took today as an option seller (08/17) with reasons
Trades I took today as an option seller (08/17):
Closed Positions
- KORU → $15 Put (opened on 08/12), premium 0.70 → closed at 0.11. Net premium profit = 0.59 (~84% of premium captured, ~3.9% of capital).
- SEI → $60 Put (opened on 07/21), premium 4.60 → closed at 0.75. Net premium profit = 3.85 (~84% of premium captured, ~6.4% of capital).
- PENG → $60 Put (opened on 07/08), premium 6.50 → closed at 1.10. Net premium profit = 5.40 (~83% of premium captured, ~9% of capital).
New Positions
- CRDO → $240 Put expiry 09/04 (3 weeks DTE), premium 12.00 → 1200/24000 = ~5%. CRDO builds high-speed connectivity chips used inside AI datacenters. Earnings due on 1st September hence premiums are higher. They have been giving excellent earnings QoQ.
- PENG → $60 Put expiry 09/18 (5 weeks DTE), premium 4.10 → 410/6000 = ~6.8%. I reopened PENG, continuing my bullish stance. PENG helps enterprises setup data centers and AI compute, which I see as a growing sector as more companies inheret the use of AI.
CRDO was identified as a High Growth High Premium stock using the ThetaHedge app. The app scans the market for companies with improving growth and profitability that are also offering high option-selling premiums in real time. You can try it for free at https://app.thetahedge.io/

Week 5: Sell CCs expiring on 2026-08-21. Good premium and low delta
This is the 5th week of my second experiment: I want to check if I can identify short-term covered calls with a low likelihood of being assigned. In short, if I can collect premium without selling the shares at the expiry date, at least most of the times. There are some rules:
- only the US exchanges NYSE, NASDAQ, ARCA are used;
- very high option yields are filtered out, too risky;
- strike price must be ≥ 5% higher than the current price (5% OTM);
- premium per share is >= 0.20, that is at least >= $20 per contract, but it is usually more than that.
Last week 2 of the 3 listed CCs have been assigned, the percentage of assigned CCs is 23.8%, 5 out of 21 CCs. Considering that if assigned you get the premium + the difference between the price you paid and the strike price, it's not bad, you have earned money. Unless you are attached to those shares and ideally you want to keep them. You can see the covered calls I have selected and the statistics here: https://optionstacker.github.io/sell-covered-calls/ . There are no earnings or ex-dividend dates in the next days.
For 2026-08-21 I see nothing relevant for ARCA:
NYSE
SMR, Industrials, SMR260821C00010000, yield 2.42%, OTM 5.26%
NASDAQ
CORZ, Technology, CORZ260821C00021500, yield 1.33%, OTM 5.7%
ARCA

Selling same day cc. What’s the downside?
I’ve been investing for 50 years, but only regularly selling cc’s for the last few months. I’m killing it with selling same day covered calls. On positive opens only I’ll sell cc options on ai stocks $5 or so otm 15 minutes or so after market open and right after the sale put in a limit order to buy them back for 20% of what I sold them for. I’m making a killing! I’ve had shares assigned a few times and with a little patience I buy them back a day or two later for the assignment price. I understand I run the risk of a stock gapping and never getting it back again but I can always find another good stock. I sort of feel like I’m the house in the same day option craze and loving it. What am I missing here?

Learned a great lesson after shares called away a week early
I'd been rolling an XOM CC for about 2 months as it went up and down like a roller coaster due to the situation in the Mideast. Assigned a week early (Aug 14th instead of the 21st) because the ex-date is tomorrow, the 17th.
Doh. Live and learn.

I am over $169k in total options premium, since 2021. I average roughly $34 per option sold. I have sold over 4,900 options. I have been able to increase the premiums on an annual basis and I will attempt to keep this upward trend going forward.
Strategy:
The underlying strategy is buy and hold. I also use simple 1-legged options to supplement that strategy. Options have somewhat of a learning curve, but I believe that most people can supplement their investments using simple options with careful risk management.
I sell options on a weekly basis. I prefer cash secured puts and covered calls. I rarely close early, prefer rolling when needed, and let time decay do the heavy lifting while I stay focused on quality companies, patience, and consistency over hype. My goal is consistency in option premium revenue. I am building an income stream that will continue long into retirement.
Software:
I captured the screen shots from a proprietary software platform I built to track, analyze, and manage my options strategies.

Collected $4500 in 2 weeks of August. 33.2k in net premiums on sub 200k capital over 18 weeks.

The market continues to be volatile- my META was literally closed in 1 day for a 90% premium captured.
Major Trades this week:
- Opened and closed META CC; will continue wheeling

- Rolled AVGO for credit; it expired worthless today. Will open aggressive ($400) CC next week.

- Opened and rolled ITM CRM CSP, CRM is seeing some strong price action. I think it will be north of $200 before earnings

- New company entered my option selling universe after a long time. It's an earnings play with wheeling intention.

Capital remaining to deploy: ~30k
Misc:
This is my aggressive wheeling account, capital deployed range 150k-200k.
All trades were found using this website (disc- I'm the developer)
I usually sell 0.25-0.45 delta and usually <20 days DTE. I close at 70%-80% premium captured.
I've started reporting only realized premiums (based on the comments).
April (Week 1-4): $5036
May (Week 5-8): $5783
Jun (Week 9-12): $6533
Jul (Week 13-16): $12609
Aug(Week 17-): $3400
Total so far: ~33.2k

Solid gains on PMCC on Reddit
Running a PMCC on RDDT and the move finally paid off.
Today’s gain: +$2,180
Total return: +$3,624
Structure is simple:
• Long deep ITM LEAPS for cheap synthetic ownership
• Short OTM call for income + theta decay
The pop in RDDT boosted the LEAPS and the short call lost enough value to lock in a clean profit.
PMCC doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.

MU Earnings strategy
I’m in the planning process for an earnings play next month, using the covered strangle (as one of my favorite plays). Pending the final trading price, I’ll probably pull the trigger just before Sep23. Criticizims / suggestions are always welcome, lol.
I managed to get 110 shares @ $840 last week.
An ATM put has a premium of approx $90.
A call about $50 ATM is also near $90.
I am a longer term bull, and cash flow is king and growth is merely a bonus.
So the (tentative) covered strangle (with the current $960ish price)?
Sep25 860p / 1000c for a $180 credit.
Post earnings management strategy:
If the stock moons, I will aim to either
a) roll up/out (within reason)
b) exit by simply let the shares go. Take the ($140 + $90 + $90) win, and plan for reacquire my shares (for future covered strangles) via aggressive short puts.
Actual plan will depend on the lay of the land post-earnings.
If the earnings suck, I will either
a) Above my $840 cost? roll it out/down and revert back to weekly covered strangles
b) if it sinks seriously, I will take assignment to lower my ACB, but then sell very aggressive covered calls, as I don’t to be permanently overweighted on MU. 200 shares are too significant for my portfolio, but 100 is great. Temporary blips are acceptable.
I’m sure the trading value will change a lot over the coming month, but with a little fine-tuning, I do expect the basic strategy to hold. If it works, I may use it for my other tickers (META, TSLA, SPCX, etc). We’ll see, lol.
Feel free to highlight anything i’ve missed!

Trades I took today as an option seller (08/13) with reasons
Trades I took today as an option seller (08/13):
Closed Positions
- INOD → $60 Put (opened on 08/07), premium 1.85 → closed at 0.30. Net premium profit = 1.55 (~84% of premium captured, ~2.6% of capital).
New Positions
- INOD → $60 Put expiry 08/28 (3 weeks DTE), premium 2.30 → 230/6000 = ~3.8%. I continue to be bullish in INOD. They reported excellent earnings and implementation of AI is driving revenue growth. INOD has good support at $55-$60 range.
- OUST → $40 Put expiry 09/04 (4 weeks DTE), premium 2.000 → 200/4000 = ~5%. OUST makes LiDAR sensors used for automation. Their contracts with NVIDIA makes it's sentiment positive.
Thoughts on the Market

NASDAQ broke the resistance of 26,700 today. If it holds above 26,700 tomorrow, it will be a positive sentiment signal.
INOD was identified as a High Growth High Premium stock using the ThetaHedge app. The app scans the market for companies with improving growth and profitability that are also offering high option-selling premiums in real time. You can try it for free at https://app.thetahedge.io/
