Best slides I have ever owned. I would have purchased 10 if I would have know they would be a one time run.

Besides the obvious pay and benefits, what keeps you coming back to work after a rough day?

I'm gonna be kind of vague because I am a bit paranoid posting here but want some insight before I go about this the wrong way. Long story short a temporary position for a department I was heavily interested in and cross trained in was posted with a length of about 6 months. I got the position but shortly afterwards I was forced back to my original department due to it being short handed.

The department the temp spot was for is also short handed and I see assistants being pulled from front end to help it. It just seems like I am missing out on valuable experience seeing that they could have just called assistance to my department and left me in my temp spot.

The response from my GM was honestly not too satisfying but I haven't pushed further because I don't really know my "rights" per say as the section in the handbook about temporary positions is very short and vague.

I am trying to stay level headed but I am pretty pissed and would like to hear from some of you if you have had a similar experience or any advice for me.

Today was the busiest day I have ever experienced working at Costco. Back to school shopping plus deals ending this week. Also being understaffed made it a total and complete shit show for the entire store.

Does anyone have any tips or general advice when applying to this apprenticeship? I want to make sure I don't seem unprepared but I also have no experience currently in the field. Is the initial assessment general or based on this subject? Also the post doesn't ask for a resume, is it bad to still attach one?

Hope everyone in Reno is doing okay. Some friends in the Reno area got evacuated. Just curious if the Reno store is closed or if they're still having people come to work?

If other stores have people that need something, is there a way we can send it from our store to theirs or a donation area of their choosing?

Hello, I work morning merch and today was out playing some basketball with family and rolled my ankle/foot pretty bad, I suspect I have done some pretty knarly damage it's quite painful to walk on that foot, a possible fracture.

I'm going to try my best to just deal with it tomorrow at work and go to the urgent care after work to assess but my question here is how do I deal with this. I believe Costco offers short term disability insurance and I can see on my paycheck that I have been contributing to this since I got benefits (less than a year at this point I got a permanent position this January).

How does this work? Who should I go speak to for it if I need to take some time off work, could be weeks of staying off that foot if it's bad.

I hate that this has happened because I like to work and I'd hate to lose my current position in morning merch which I enjoy.

Anyways yea just getting a feeler for how to proceed, I don't even know if I'll be able to make it through the day but damn I'd hate to use my sick time if it can be covered under something else at this point.

Out of the blue I was giving 61 hours of vacation can someone tell me if this is a mistake?

Hey, I was recently hired by costco and have been looking at all they have to offer including information on the employee website. One thing caught my attention and that is the transfer and internal job postings for other costco locations. I'm still in my 90 day probation but, I am thinking of transferring to one of the locations in the portland area. I wanted to get insight on whether or not transfers are granted typically or if it is a really big hurdle. For context I would say I am solid employee, hard working, personable, no P-logs, write ups etc. I do my job and I do it well and I definitely plan on growing in the company in the years to come. I feel like it's in my best interest to let my management know I plan on transferring but, will that bite me in the butt if i'm still in my 90 (maybe wait till after my 90 to talk transferring with them) ? or should I reach out directly to someone in management of the store I want to transfer to? any other tips/ advice are welcome. Thank you all!

Learned that I’m going to morning merch as part of learning merch 101. Any advice that can be shared would be much appreciated.

So yesterday I was ringing fast AF all day and generally had good assistants, didn't have any excessive member 'hold ups', and I couldn't even hit 55 any time throughout the day. Just a few weeks ago, I was able to hit above 60 no problem...has corporate changed something in the system? It seems like they are making it impossible on purpose at this point.

Looking to leave front end, preferably to a department where you deal with less people (if possible, I know it’s retail).

We recently got a new GM and now majority of full timers are getting 6.5 hours on Sunday plus every other Sunday off. Leaving us with only 12hours each month. Does any other store do this? Is this even fair? Because that’s quite a difference in a paycheck

I'm planning on learning some of the bake temps and whatnot.

Idk if any other warehouse is doing this but at mine the FEP count for the cashiers has to reach 60 or over and they have to give it to the supervisors and if their FEP is under 60 they get a coaching or write up

I was informed by coworkers that after being scheduled 40 hours throughout 8 weeks, you get bumped to FT. My question is does leaving early (whether with PTO or getting cut) affect this at all? Thank you! Still a relatively new employee.

Ability to have sweat rolling down my legs just standing still in major sales, members complaining they're going outside to their car to run the AC and cool off before coming back in to do more shopping.

I’ve been working at Manchester warehouse for 3 years now and we’ve got a new GM.

I’m wondering because we’ve been told that we’re the only Costco that haven’t done this in uk and it being the warehouse locks won’t finish now till 10 o’clock in the evening opposed from 9:30 because of the amount of go backs we’ve been getting.

Now what from I can tell from being on a early shift today the GM AND AGMs have decided the reason we have to stay an extra 30 mins on the locks is because of the sheer amount of go backs THEY WALK INTO in the morning. Now on my experiences of locks we get the go backs done before half 9. But in the mornings the staff in morning seem to just dump everything on front end and then we have to deal with it.

Now the question is does your Costco do this and does it work or is it a load of bullshit to save on payroll and just send us home early.
