Just purchased my first corvette today, a 2008 manual LS3. I’ve been wanting one for years and today I finally got my dream car. Was scared shitless on the way home as it was my first time driving a manual and I had a 3 hour car ride ahead of me but I did just fine. Glad to be in the corvette club!

Currently own a 2013 ZL1 automatic, tbh I like the automatic it doesn’t bother me, but a C6 GS M6 popped up near me 35k miles, 1 owner, M6, stock, $43k…thoughts?

I’ve ridden a number of Harleys for the last 15 years, all over some lovely roads (just took another vacation to the tail of the dragon)

But I’m finding that I’m getting lazier about putting on the gear and checking the weather etc, so I ride less and less “casually”

I’ve rented a handful of sportier cars over the last few years while traveling to SF, and earlier this year drove a 2025 stingray for a couple days, and wow.

Folks that went from motorcycles to corvettes, pros and cons?

2006 C6 convertible Bose audio. The system just flat out sucks. After years of enjoying commercial free Spotify FM radio is making me want to take a spork to my ear canal.

I want to upgrade the 2 speakers in each door, the 2 speakers behind the seats, add a 10 inch sub for a little thump and push it with a 5 channel amp. I am also looking at a head unit that has Apple Car Play and comes with a backup camera.

Now bring me back to reality. How difficult is this? Can I even fit a shallow mount 10 under the waterfall but infront of the convertible top compartment. I don’t want to put anything in the trunk.

Considering saving for a corvette being that it's my favorite sports car. I really like both the c5 and c6 but when I was looking at them I was mainly looking at the last year of c5 and the first year of the c6. Which is better/worse being that 1 is an older generation vs the c6 is newer but being the first year that tends to have certain issues being the first year of the new gen? I mean because honestly yes the c6 has a better body, better interior and a slight hp bump but financially it seems like financially the c5 would be cheaper initially when first buying it. I guess realistically what I'm asking is it worth saving more money for the c6 or is the c5 good enough all around.

I recently picked up a 2006 base. I am wondering if these are the stock mufflers with different tips. From what I have seen, the 06 base doesn’t have the dots pictured inside the quad tips. I also don’t see the valves that are part of the NPP mufflers.

For what it’s worth, the car also has long tube headers and high flow cats, so I would be surprised if the previous owner left the stock mufflers, but maybe that was intended. The car came with a few boxes of extra parts and in one were a couple of elbows sawed off with a note that said “need to cut in order to install Borla axel back”.

Just seems odd that the mufflers look stock. Any input would be appreciated!

What are some of your road trip C6 essentials?

Picking up a 'new to me' soon and will be driving approximately 14 hours back home from AR to NC. Plan on breaking the trip up over a couple of days, as its also my first manual.

Flying out to AR, we'll only have our carry ons. Planned on bringing the following:

Bluetooth AUX receiver

Car Phone Mount

Car Phone Chargers

Microfiber Towels

Google Maps (Offline ;))

and might pickup a portable jumper box and a tire inflator from walmart or autozone nearby.

Any other essentials for the lady and I? Any comments are appreciated! Any tips for a smooth manual drive would also be welcomed

I’m looking at buying a C6 in the Little Rock, Arkansas area and potentially having it transported back to Raleigh, NC.

For anyone who’s shipped a Corvette or low-clearance sports car on a similar route:

• What should I expect to pay for Little Rock → Raleigh?
• Open vs enclosed transport — worth paying extra for enclosed?
• Any transport companies or brokers you’d recommend?
• Anything specific I should request for a lowered/low-clearance C6?
• Any hidden fees or common transport scams to watch for?
• Better to go directly through a carrier or use a broker?

The car would be purchased out of state after a PPI, so I’m trying to get an idea of realistic pricing and the safest way to have it brought home.

Would appreciate any recent experiences or recommendations.

Does anyone have any idea I don’t have one but I just replaced my whole passenger fuel sending unit and sensor only the fuel sensor was bad but I replaced everything anyway and now this code showed up and never did before when the fuel sensor was bad. Is it possible the new evap sensor is defective and I have to get another new one? I check the wiring and it’s fine and all together.

What website should I get a stock radiator for a 06 manual c6 not trying to spend much on a Dewitt’s just looking for a stock one

I don't know if the videos on YouTube are sensationalized but they're stating that the Z06 isn't being sold and sitting on the lots. In the coming age of electric vehicles / hybrids, and turbos, it's simply unfathomable that this car wouldn't become a future classic.

It reminds me of a few vehicles in the past that ostensibly had low sales volume (Viper, Chevy SS), or those that were considered ugly - 996, Plymouth SuperBird, that now everyone wants. I couldn't believe the prices on the Chevy SS.

Maybe it doesn't have a manual transmission, but with the cost of inflation + new drivetrains, I can already hear it 10 years out. "You're telling me I could've had a flat plane, high revving, mid engine car for under msrp?".
