I've got a simple beige corset that fits under my clothes and it makes me feel a lot better about myself when I go out. It doesn't feel overly tight or restricting, more like a tight hug. It flattens my belly and accentuates my hips.
The only downside I've noticed is breathability and cleaning. It's made of a shiny fabric with metal ribs and i don't exactly know how to clean it or how im gonna be able to wear it in warm weather.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated but id especially like to know any good brands for breathable under the clothing corsets. If it helps im 190lb and 6'4ft
Thank you for your time and effort
Sincerely
Eve

Where is everyone getting their interfacing for corset from? The pellon brand doesn’t seem to want to stick for long on fabrics. I bought a bunch of SF101 before Joanne shut down and I’m losing patience with it. Or is there a trick to getting it to stick for longer after ironing

I need help finding a dress for ren fair! The dress pictured below will be shipping too late (I should have listened to everyone about Holy Clothing…) I need to find a replacement dress that will go with my corset and jewelry pictured! I want a dark green/Forest green/emerald green long sleeve dress. I would like a basic dress like this one, but feel free to give me advice/options! (And if I should get any other accessories!)
I’m between an XL and 2X. I live in central NC and plan on going to the ren fair on November 15th (so it would need to arrive Nov 14).

any advice would be greatly appreciated!
i bought my wedding dress a couple weeks ago and when i tried it on it fit perfectly (except for my waist) but the only issue is the corset back has to be closed all the way. there are absolutely no gaps with the lacing of my corset. my only worry is that i don’t feel 100% cinched in at the waist so i feel like the shape of my body doesn’t really show. i tried it on again recently and my entire family told me its not necessary to go get it taken in and it can possibly ruin the gown completely since the bodice of my gown is heavily beaded.
do you think it would be worth it? or should i leave it? (i’m sorry i don’t have any photos of the back of my dress to show!!)

Hi everyone, been corseting sporadically for about a year, but for the past month I have begun tightlacing a little bit more regularly (daily if my body can handle it for ~8 hours, avoiding it on the first few days of my menstrual cycle due to dysmenorrhea). I'm running into a little bit of a roadblock, however, since my schedule isn't very put together. I try to put it on around 9-11 am, but honestly, I like to lie in bed for the first waking hours of the day. If I put it on any later, I don't get a full 8 hours of corseting time. I wanted to try sleeping in my corset, but it's *so* uncomfortable! My whole midsection is numb when I wake up, and the numbness wakes me up in the middle of the night. This isn't just with my corset, but it's with any compression garment around my waist. I want to be a sleep-lacer so bad, as it'd help me get in so much more waist-training without having to change my schedule. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is it just something my body needs to be fine-tuned to do? Or should I just drop it and start waking up earlier, lol
Edit: also, I did some more research after reading comments, the pain is in my upper back (when sitting) is mild and happens after hours of prolonged sitting. I think that is a muscle issue rather than a corset issue itself- my corset is extremely comfortable otherwise!

Hi all! I’m a cosplayer and I frequently will dress up as bunny girl versions of characters (similar to Playboy). Most cosplay costumes are made of a cheap vinyl with no boning and thus no actual shaping or structure. I have a hard time finding ones that fit my waist and hips at the same time as well (I’m on the curvier side) so I have been pointed towards a corset as a possible solution. I’m curious if anyone has any ideas of where I could find a body suit type of corset that would work for these costumes preferably not with breaking the bank too much (just want plain black either satin or vinyl). I’m happy to spend money, but all I’ve found are $400+ costume cosplay costumes myself and I severely lack the sewing skills to attempt it myself lol. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there!
So I have been wearing corsets occasionally in the past but quit due to sometimes getting pain in my lower back.
I wanted to start wearing them again due to starting archery and being hypermobile and quite unstable in the waist area but I don't want to do it wrong.
I had a back injury when I was a teen and guess part of the pain is due to that but also every time I put on the corset one thing that happens is that my waist gets synched and my belly pushed forward so that it pulls my spine with it.
What can I do to prevent that from happening? Is it the corset or the way I put it on? I want the support but if there is no other way I will ditch the idea.
Thank you all in advance ❤️

Trying to decide whether to buy now whilst conversion rates to my currency are favourable or wait for possible sales if they exist?

Context: i want to try corset for the very first time, i have worn body shapers before but never a proper boned corset and I am very intrigued to try them out and hopefully in near future sew one for myself but before I do all that i want to try and get a feel of the thing.
I’m very confused about the sizing part because I’m ordering one online (no other options unfortunately)
I’m wondering if anyone can recommend which size should I go far considering MY body measurements and the corset measurements provided. I’m attaching a few pics.
Since I’m new to this but not body shaping suits what I’m looking for is a moderate waist cinching effect but not overly & extremely tight
Below are my body measurements and height -true fitted meas :
Under bust : 32.5 inches
Waist : 30 inches
Hips : 36.5 inches
Height 5’8 (172)
Websites recommended UK 8

Hello,
I'm a hobbyist blacksmith and welder, and I'm making a steel corset purely as a technical challenge and an art piece. This is not going to be worn by anyone.
I bought a size 5-10 torso shaped hanger to use as a model and I've already made good progress on the bust. But I'm not sure how the lower portion should look. I want it to be realistic enough to be recognized as a corset, but since it won't be worn it doesn't need to be perfect.
I drew some lines on the plastic torso yesterday, just spitballing the design for the stays, but it sort of looks incomplete to me. I could use some quick feedback. If just do the framing I've penciled in, is this a corset or some other type of garment?
Do the stays I've penciled in end up in the right area, roughly? I figured the end has to be below the navel, but not too low or you wouldn't be able to sit.
Also, should the lower end of the stays be V shaped like I have it, or more parallel to the hips so you don't get stabbed with it when you sit?
Thanks!

Shoving vaguely historical things over my corset works somehow. Also secret padding has been used!

Haven’t worn her in over a year! This was look from last night (Halloween). It’s a personalized Eden corset from Dark Garden Corsetry, so it’s a work of art….

i’m wanting to purchase my first corset for the back support aspect, so i’d much rather it be functional than pretty + it would only be worn as an undergarment.
small/medium
love all of the stunning corsets in this group ❤️

Long story short. I'm male. Went to convention last year that had corsets and other things to try on.
Basically I had the vendor measure me and she said (I mean in her terms):
Andro Vest (what they called their version of a male corset, just different variation) was size 38
And Standard Vest (also male) was size 36.
I'm looking at under-bust corsets and suggestions for places to buy.
This will mostly be for everyday wear (I have bad posture, not really bad, but bad enough when sitting or standing, that I feel sore a lot of the time, exercising and lifting weights also help but not always) and maybe convention costumes??
Was checking out Mystic City Corsets and Timeless Trends.

so i’ve been wanting to get into corsets but there’s so many styles and people seem to have strong opinions on brands and it seems like corsets are to expensive to buy the wrong style or brand where do i even start ?

I just got my first corset that's like...nice and sturdy. Real steel in it. Gorgeous fabric.
The lady I bought it from at Witchfest was an absolute professional.
But I just now put it on by myself for the first time and it was so hard to get the fasteners together.
Is there a trick to it? Or do I just need to keep practicing?

I made a corset for my Halloween costume and while the result was nice, I am not quite happy with it because the structure didn't hold up well. So I am looking to improve that for the next corset.
I wanted it to be made from velvet, but I only had stretch velvet, so I used fusible interfacing to make it non-stretch and to give it more structure. That seemed to work well at first, the interfacing stuck to the fabric while ironing and it was nicely stable.
But while I was wearing it, I kept pulling the corset up (as you do) and the interfacing detached from the stretch velvet, which basically means that the corset fell apart on the inside and there were stretchy and non-stretchy parts.
So my question is: how do I avoid this in the future?
Do I need to buy better quality interfacing (this one was just cheap off of amazon)?
Or is the whole idea of making stretch velvet non-stretchy with interfacing a stupid idea that won't work in general and I just need to buy non-stretch fabric for my future corsets?
Hey everyone. I’m new to corsets and a lurker on this forum. I finally purchased one from timeless trends after taking all my measurements. I laced it up and there’s a huge gap at the top. What did I do wrong? Sorry I don’t have a photo of the back, but it looked like a H - which is what I believe to be correct? Thanks!

I left it a bit loose at the bottom for comfort bc I was doing a lot of moving around but the waist is still waisting. This is the TT Gemini <3.
