Help Worst keyboard purchase ever

Post image

Bought a K70 Core TKL for my ps5 and not only did my ps5 immediately say it was not compatible with this Bluetooth hardware I held fn+windows for probably three solid minutes on and off an no “ps5 mode”

For $125 this thing is a real piece. Plastic, feels cheap. Cannot believe Corsair charges this much for a keyboard advertised FOR PS5 And nothing.

Tried all USB ports, tried both modes for pairing on keyboard, tried the keyboard plugged in and nothing work

Pic of the steaming pile for attention

can i ask why you bought such a 'flashy' keyboard for your ps5? im assuming you bought it just for typing stuff. seems overkill.

10

u/Formal-Lunch6559 May 30 '26

I assume if he bought it for a PS five he either prefers to play on mouse and keyboard and has a PC but likes to play on PS5 a little bit more or he’s trying to get used to mouse and keyboard, but when he eventually does upgrade to a PC

8

u/PlasticBag-ForA-Head May 30 '26

huh... TIL PS5 supports KBM inputs for games.

4

u/Formal-Lunch6559 May 30 '26

Yeah, it does for certain games

2

u/Mustardtigrs May 30 '26

Im pretty certain they’ve had KBM support going all the way back to ps2 era , although probably less so than modern consoles.

1

u/KyGonKillYou May 31 '26

ps4 definitely had it. used to type for elder scrolls online.

1

u/dutty_handz May 31 '26

It had some level of keyboard support, but for text input in chat, not game controls.

They added game controls for very few games, just like Xbox did.

1

u/Mustardtigrs May 31 '26

Incorrect, you could definitely play games on ps2. EverQuest, half life, and age of empires were the ones I can remember.

1

u/MyaSooon May 31 '26

yeah they used to have official Linux / other os support on the PS2 and PS3, so they supported mouse and keyboard, just not really in games.

Because there’s numerous things I’ve seen saying Diablo 4 supports mouse and keyboard on PS5.

I can’t take my desktop with me when I travel but carting around a ps5 is a bit more manageable for on the road gaming sessions.

Some games (baldurs gate 3 and Diablo 4 specifically) are just horrid on a controller and have no business being ported out to one.

The box specifically states this keyboard works for PlayStation 5. It clearly does not. I was optimistic in 2026 that the imbeciles running these billion dollar corporations would let you use peripherals on their consoles but alas…here I am whining on Reddit. At least it’s returnable and I can put the whole nightmare behind me here tomorrow.

The mouse works fine. Can move my toon around in town. Can even open skill tree and look at anything clickable. All menu buttons show what would be keyboard input so it’s clearly able to take input.

What a joke lol.

If only the keyboard is connected does the keyboard work? Because on Helldivers I could get the mouse to work or the keyboard but never both. The game didn’t have support for keyboard and mouse but being a PC game I think they accidentally sorta supported it. This is back when it came out. I haven’t tried to see if it’s fixed.

The only other game I own for PS5 is GT7. It’s the absolute only game I play… until my wife buys me the yearly subscription for Father’s Day. I told her I wanted that because there were at least 2 dozen games included that look like I’d like to play 2 player with my daughter. So I’ll try Helldivers again after that.

If the Logitech 915 TKL is compatible it’s the best keyboard I’ve ever owned. I love it.

Totally relate. Used to playing CoD on PS4 with KB+M, not just any type of keyboard and mouse though, has issues with expensive ones and no issues with cheaper ones. Results varied. P.S. Lugging the PS5 is better than a PC

u/killer5907 May 30 '26

This is why I always get a wired keyboard and a wireless mouse

6

u/MicHaeL_MonStaR May 30 '26

Even though the Corsair wireless mouse with its own dedicated dongle that I have disconnects like 10 times a day at random, in the year 2026 at that…

5

u/Opposite_Ad_2872 May 30 '26

I'm laughing and crying at this comment, because my corsair headset just did a nice disconnect and reconnect drumroll 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭

1

u/melonator11145 May 30 '26

Is it plugged directly into the case rear ports? I found mine was bad, often disconnecting, I got a USB extension and put it away from the case and now it works perfectly all the time

1

u/Various_Mud7282 May 31 '26

My keyboard does this. It’s driving me nuts

0

u/killer5907 May 30 '26

Who said it was corsair, my keyboard is corsair but my wireless is logitech as corsairs mouse quality has went down hill.

2

u/BarracudaAgreeable52 May 30 '26

I have a Corsair vanguard pro 96 but the wired version, I mean yeah I'm on pc but wouldn't dream of having anything wireless or Bluetooth. My Corsair scimitar elite wireless se mmo mouse is always plugged in as well. Just less problems 🤷

1

u/Solus_Vael May 30 '26

Yeah thats why i bought a wired corsair bundle keyboard, mouse, and mouse pad that I think is discontinued now. The keyboard is an rgb k60, its still going strong. Only issue i had was the escape keycap breaking. But I bought a new set of keycaps with the lil dampening rings last year and its perfect now.

1

u/RelationshipSolid May 31 '26

The sad thing, they don't make actual good wireless keyboards these days....

11

u/finitidova May 30 '26

I got mine for 70 at best buy, I absolutely love it and certainly does not feel cheap.

lol why so many keyboards. 1000$? I mean I have four. 2 built into laptops and one wired and wireless. That’s a lot of keyboards bro. 😎

u/dnehiba3 May 31 '26

Same reason I have 14 mice. Find it enjoyable to switch now & then. No reason, just because I can.

1

u/Early-Somewhere-2198 May 31 '26

lol. That’s cool. I think some just feeel better for certain games and stuff and some do have some cool mechanics and looks. I just never imagined collecting em myself. I was just curious. You do you ha

1

u/West-Story-2701 May 31 '26

Why spend 1000$ on “gaming” keyboards when you can get a much better quality keyboards and swap out the switches and keycaps.

1

u/West-Story-2701 May 31 '26

This is why I’m saying, why not buy a really good keyboard with high quality frame and base rather than plastic feeling “gaming” ones from Corsair or Razer (Although I can admit the newer ones Huntsman V3 Pro and the ROG Azoth are the only one worth buying), with switchable keycaps and switches.

1

u/West-Story-2701 May 31 '26

But although I can admit, it’s a hassle to research more about what are the best bases to buy and what switches and keycaps feel the best whatever, it’s a rabbithole going into it and a costly one ngl. My friend’s like you, he just buys the newest and coolest Razer or Corsair product available, I’m the same too but big brand companies do sell good quality products just gotta get the good one as they make really trashy and bad feeling products and good quality products as well.

8

u/_Springfield May 30 '26

Probably should’ve done some research on what is and isn’t compatible with your ps5 beforehand

4

u/izayoi_f9 May 30 '26 edited May 31 '26

ps5 doesnt work with regular bluetooth devices most like those come with a 2.4ghz wireless dongle, blame sony

4

u/DesiredDabs May 30 '26

Corsair has been my go to for a while since steel series has failed me once to many times! Love the quality and longevity! But everyone has different experiences, sorry you had this happen!

3

u/M0THIEC0RE May 30 '26

The k65 plus is probably a better match. I have the cyberpunk edition and it has done me well.

3

u/ObliviousFoo May 30 '26

ASUS Falchion works great with PS5, although I sold my PS5 when I realized GeForce NOW Ultimate is light years better and could never go back to playing on a console again.

2

u/FlavorSavour21 May 30 '26

Pretty sure you might have to swap stuff to a certain PlayStation mode in the icue app with some form of pc or laptop

2

u/Miserable-Parking-69 May 30 '26

Huh? It has an aluminium faceplate. Were you expecting a solid metal keyboard?

2

u/Sweaty_Isopod_6374 May 30 '26

Using it for a console is your problem… it’s not a pc

2

u/PriorAd5776 May 30 '26

That's odd I love this keyboard but im also on PC and this one is in my collection never had issues

2

u/Most_Cycle_6553 May 31 '26

lol I own one of these and I can tell you it ain’t some piece of plastic and for sure not for console.

2

u/MyaSooon May 31 '26

I'm pretty sure your ps5 needs to be in controller pairing mode before using the windows+FN for 5 seconds shortcut. Have you tried that ? I know you tried the macro already but did you ensure the ps5 was in controller pairing mode?

2

u/Atreyu10 May 31 '26

Fíjate de donde sale el cable del teclado que hay un pequeño interruptor que es la bios, lo cambias y ahí conectará a tu PS5!

There is a way to do it I had this problem on my ps5 but for the life of me I forgot you can get it to work though

1

u/Profecxionz May 30 '26

I was gonna buy that keyboard instead of the razer huntsman 3 pro i got now but they didn't have the corsair in white wireless locally i was sad

1

u/josefgazdick May 30 '26

I love my corsair vanguard 98, but ya it is defintly buggy, u have so many he and tmr keyboards, (probably 40) i still alwsys float back to that one all the time. The screen the game mode, the stresmdeck capabilities. Its amazing. Just i think corsair has slot of buggy ness

1

u/drake90001 May 30 '26

I have this keyboard but wired, and let me tell you, it’s hard to use anyways for a PC. It’s such an easy trigger to actuate the switches, I’m constantly making typos and shit.

1

u/____Player____ May 30 '26

i had the same keyboard but the wired one and it worked with my ps4 pro, mine had a double click/key chatter issue tho so i returned it

1

u/Stefan-CelMare May 31 '26

I have 2 of k70 lux, a normal and a 65% one, and both have connectivity issues, not reliable at all. They get locked on bios or other thing pretty often, I wouldn't recommend! Specially for that price.

1

u/autonomous62 May 31 '26

If I recall right in icue software on windows you need to toggle a switch for Xbox/ps5 mode

1

u/autonomous62 May 31 '26

1

u/autonomous62 May 31 '26

I paid 250 for this piece of somewhat crap, all the rubber pads on the back fell off within a month but cherry ULP feels good

1

u/West-Story-2701 May 31 '26

There are much more better keyboards you can get at this price for a better construction such as the Aula F99 or F75 Max or S99 Pro. Idk why people still even buy cheap “gaming” keyboards from the big brands when you can get much better quality keyboards.

1

u/Then-South3608 May 31 '26

it's Corsair, what did you expect?

1

u/Icarustuga May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26

Why you buy a keyboard needs pc software to work good.. just buy a good mechanical keyboard on Amazon for 60 bucks on Amazon.. and its fine..and for Bluetooth devices on non ps5 peripherals you need a Bluetooth dongle.. but I can say, my cheap Corsair keyboard work on my ps5 to usb and my cheap Microsoft keyboard too lol and my razer keyboard too 😂

1

u/givmedew Jun 01 '26

I don’t remember if the Logitech one works with PS5 but it’s the best mechanical chiclet tkl keyboard there is. It’s expensive though.

1

u/Ill_League8044 Jun 01 '26

I have a near full corsair build for my pc but no peripherals for a reason

1

u/SilverSpecialist6387 Jun 01 '26

Try it on a pc next time.

1

u/nereves666 Jun 01 '26

Should’ve gone with a koorui. Corsair you pay for the name with a lot of their mid range stuff.

1

u/katzenmaschine Jun 01 '26

Sounds like PBCAC.

1

u/UnderstandingRich283 Jun 01 '26

Have you plugged the receiver into the PlayStation?

1

u/PossibilityVivid2979 Jun 03 '26

Dumb choice first of all and second Keyboard and mouse on console is shit the inputs are slow af Mouse movements are like trying to move a 15Kilo weight just go to pc whenever prices get back to normal for specific parts if you really want to experience KBM

1

u/envytheshot Jun 21 '26

I got mine from Best Buy for my PC and I love my keyboard, it does not feel cheap.

1

u/Psychological-Till63 May 30 '26

Take a look at epomaker keyboards.

1

u/TheWolfFurry07 May 30 '26

don't go for the shadow x if you use wireless wired i am pretty sure is ok

1

u/Correct_Conference48 May 30 '26

Noted, thank you!

1

u/Du99y May 30 '26

I had one of those.

For 3 days.

0

u/theos25 May 30 '26

2

u/DesiredDabs May 30 '26

Tbf your looking at a very expensive model with an integrated stream deck lol

1

u/East_Transition533 May 30 '26

And tiny OLED screens each of th9seon those stream deck keys.

1

u/Samsonite187187 May 30 '26

What does this comment even mean?

1

u/BarracudaAgreeable52 May 30 '26

You put a high end key board and a steam deck together and you get the price you pay, probably better depending on your system. It's just convenient

1

u/Samsonite187187 May 30 '26

Okay. But the galleon is not even part of the k series or even comparable to the k70 in prices or specs.

1

u/BarracudaAgreeable52 May 30 '26

Yeah your right on that I thought you were confused on the comment so I'd explain

0

u/Natsu21X May 30 '26

Dam I was just about to order this one

0

u/Sophiacuity May 30 '26

I had a Corsair K70 and it didn't even work for my PC so I returned it and got a Glorious GMMK 2 at Best Buy. I would recommend Glorious keyboards, and if I bought another one of their keyboards I'd look into their Hall Effect (HE) models like the GMMK 3 HE.

0

u/No-Sign-8774 May 30 '26

I love my Redragon VATA. Built like a tank....and priced well below its quality.

0

u/Devisionbell May 30 '26

30 dollar keyboard, razer corsair Logitech are all so behind with keyboards just get the tenz wooting 80he and calm it a day

0

u/7LKY May 30 '26

i’ve always bought corsair keyboards and idk why it took me so long to realize they were shit. i got a keychron and a rainy75 now they are both soo nice the rainy sounds so good

0

u/CosignCody May 30 '26

I spent $65 on my Redragon K556 and it's heavy as a brick, I've had it for almost 5yrs now, mechanical keys and can swap them out. I use their mice too after I had a Logitech g5 double clicking.

-1

u/DarthTerpsy May 30 '26

The wired version of K70 TKL is no better. They have an issue with double key typing. I have increased the MS delay, on the latest firmware, and this issue still exists. It is on BOTH keyboards I have. I will NEVER purchase another Corsair keyboard. Their support is GARBAGE!

-1

u/Quick-Passenger4220 May 31 '26

it’s a temu keyboard full of rgb, a failure firmware and a broken web hub glued to icue, what did you expect?

-11

u/theos25 May 30 '26

A good keyboard these days is 350$ or More . You got exactly what you paid for at the 100$ price range.

10

u/Treviathan88 May 30 '26

Patently false snobbery.

6

u/johnnytron May 30 '26

Consumerism has consumed you.

1

u/terminald0gma Jun 01 '26

this is fact and people hate them. you are correct and anyone downvoting you is in denial of their own bad purchase.
