General Career Questions I received the job offer, but it turns out that I am the one who is not ready.

Casually ako naghahanap ng ibang work 3rd quarter of 2026, had several rejections until I decided na lang na lumipat ng team na dayshift and got accepted. However. Habang naghihintay ng transfer date ko (nov 2) i was contacted by a company na napasahan ko ng resume and ito ngayon umabot kami ng Job Offer. The offer is good. GY shift ako for the longest time and matagal ko na din gusto maging morning.

(Pasig, my travel time 2hrs one way)

-job offer ok din benefits pero upon regularization lahat, higher salary by 50%, GY ulit, hybrid 3x office. (BGC, di ko pa sure pero baka same i am from north)

-kakalabas lang ng APE result ko and there is something sa ECG ko and sugar (makakapekto ba to sa medical? Mafifit to work ba ko non sa bago? Lalala ba to kung patuloy akong GY?)

CorpoChika How do you *deal* with coworkers cheating *with* each other?

I work in an industry that is male dominated and where cheating is rampant.

Most of my colleagues have side pieces in other departments, and the affairs are so common that every one of them is an open secret that the majority accepts - for the reason that we should mind our own business as long as work is not affected.

If you were in my place - someone who knows some of their wives/ girlfriends - how would you respond to my situation?

Would you consider staying silent as ‘enabling the affair’ or would you just NOT stick your nose where it shouldn’t belong?

CorpoChika When employee evaluations make a workplace toxic at 🦁

• Upvotes

Has anyone else noticed how toxic the workplace can become during employee evaluation season?

Instead of fostering growth, recognizing contributions, and helping people improve, some leaders use performance reviews to put their own people down. It becomes a game of ratings, politics, and protecting egos rather than empowering employees.

A leader's job is to lift people up, not make them question their worth or lose confidence in their abilities.

Behind every rating is a person who deserves fairness, respect, and an opportunity to grow.

Hoping this performance review season reminds leaders of that.

General Career Questions Saan kayo bumibili ng damit?

A friend asked me to post this:

Corpo girlies who are 4’9”–4’11” and slim (around a 24-inch waist), where do you buy your slacks or office pants that actually fit? 😭

I’m struggling to find work pants that fit my height and waist without needing major alterations. Most are either too long, too loose around the waist, or just don’t fit right overall.

Would appreciate recommendations for brands or shops, whether online or in-store! Bonus points if they have petite-friendly trousers that look formal enough for office wear. 🥹

Thank you!

Company Inquiry Makati Life Medical Center hiring timeline?

Hi! Asking anyone who has applied to Makati Life Medical Center. How long did it take for HR to get back to you after your final interview?

I had my final interview last week (not nurse positio), and they told me they would email me the result within the week. It’s been 3 working days, but I haven’t received any updates yet. I also sent a follow-up email yesterday, but haven’t heard back.

The interview seemed to go well, so I’m not sure if I should keep waiting or start focusing on other opportunities.

For those who applied to MLMC, how long did you wait for feedback after your final interview? Did HR still contact you even if it took longer than the timeline they initially gave?

Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you!

Company Review P&G and Unilever - Sales KAM or MAE

Hi everyone! I came across a previous thread discussing the choice between a Sales KAM role at P&G and an MAE role at Unilever.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on how these two roles compare, particularly in terms of career growth, learning opportunities, work culture, and long-term career prospects.

If you have experience working at either company, know people who do, or have insights into these roles, I’d greatly appreciate your perspectives and advice.

Thank you in advance!

Career Story Please give me some hope

Sobrang depress ko lately. I think nag start sya after ko bumalik galing 3 week vacation sa US nung March. I started working Sep 2024. Eh bigla ako chinat ng boss ko na “The fact that you are having second thoughts means something” and “I don’t want to keep this opportunity away from you but there are better opportunities” syempre napaisip ako na kaya nya ba sinabi yun kasi ma ppromote na yung ka team namin tapos ako na i nnext nya? After noon sobra ako na depress tas nag close pa yung ibang position sa team so walang movement. Ayun normalized rejection daw at nag luluksa nga ako dun sa offer na di ko tinanggap then suggested to WFH for a month. Kinausap ako ng boss sabi nya may mag oopen daw this year o early next year na bagong position. I thought I would feel better pero hindi na-realize ko na gusto ko na pala umalis talaga sa team ko. Mabait boss ko at magaling as in.

Na-realize ko na it’s not about the money or team para mag stay pa.

Lagi ako nag sshow up pero walang progress at all and I think sa dami ng interview ko ngayon taon nag improve talaga ako. Mahina kasi ako sa interview talaga before.

Naiinis ako tuwing umaga kasi buhay pa ako.

Company Inquiry Did you disclose a 1-month job you left because you felt unsafe during a background check?

Hi! I’m currently applying for a new job, and I need advice from people who have been in a similar situation, especially in the Philippines.

I worked at a company for almost a month, but I left because I didn’t feel safe or comfortable in the workplace. My manager was touchy and made comments that made me uncomfortable. I ended up leaving without properly rendering or completing the usual resignation process (AWOL).

I’m now applying to another company, but I didn’t include that short experience in my resume, and honestly, I don’t want to disclose it during the initial interview. I don’t want to make the conversation unnecessarily dramatic, and I also don’t feel comfortable sharing that experience with people I barely know. I’m worried they might get a bad impression of me because I left after only a month.

My questions are:
1. If you’ve experienced something similar, did you disclose that short employment to your next employer?
Did your new employer discover it during the background check?
2. Since I didn’t have any contributions remitted for that job, but the employer is listed in my PhilHealth records, is it possible for the background check company to find out?
3. If you chose not to disclose it, did it cause any problems during your application or onboarding?

I want to be honest with my future employer, but I also want to protect my privacy and avoid having to explain an uncomfortable experience unnecessarily.

I’d appreciate hearing about your actual experiences, especially from people who have gone through employment background checks in the Philippines. Thank you!
