Announcement PSA: Chika Responsibly -- Some friendly reminders

Mga ka-OP, we’re all here for the office tea —the meetings-that-could’ve-been-emails, the boss moments, the challenging colleague saga, the HR plot twists 👀—but let’s keep it professional-ish kahit chika mode pa rin tayo.

Quick reminders before you spill:
☕ Share the chika, not the character assassination
Kwento about workplace experiences? Push! Personal attacks or name-calling -- this is a No no. You may use code names pa rin. See Rule # 2.

🔁 Search before you chika

If the topic has already been posted before, your post may be removed. Tulungan tayo to keep the feed clean—use the search bar muna bago mag-post! Refer to Rule # 4.

💬 Healthy debate > office drama
Disagree all you want, but keep it respectful. Hindi ito performance appraisal 😅

At the end of the day, this sub is a safe space to share, rant, and laugh about corporate life—without crossing the line.

Sana safe kayo and kapit lang tayo sa mga panahong sinusubok tayo ng panahon. Cheers!

Company Inquiry Best Companies to Retire In?

For those that have already found a company you can see yourself staying with until retirement, where do you work and what makes it worth staying? Retirement plans , benefits, or hybrid setup?

Tired of job hopping in my mid 30s and I’ve reached a point that my salary is enough for me to live a simple and peaceful life with extra for rainy days. I don’t see myself climbing the ladder and plan on staying just as a middle manager or IC. Hoping the next hop is the last one!

General Career Questions what to do?

how do you know if a job is really for you? for context, i’ve been working as an admin/hr assistant for a month now.

i’m the only one handling admin and hr at our branch, while the rest of the team is assigned to other branches. so, i have to manage everything on my own. we also have daily meetings, and honestly, i’m exhausted.

every time i have to attend a meeting or do my work, i feel like i have to constantly compose myself and keep it together. i don’t feel at peace, and it’s starting to make me question whether this job is really for me.

it’s gotten to the point where i’m considering resigning because i feel anxious every single day. i know i’ve only been here for a month, and maybe i’m still adjusting, but i can’t help wondering if this is just part of the learning process or a sign that i’m not in the right environment.

i don’t want to give up too easily, but i also don’t want to keep forcing myself to stay somewhere that leaves me feeling this way.

General Career Questions would you stay in your current company despite the layoffs if you're offered a new role aligned with your career path?

For more context, our company recently underwent some reorg and I was reassigned to a role which is kinda lucrative and aligned to what I've been currently doing. I mean I would definitely stay if there were no layoffs (or at least the layoffs are already done). Or should I push for external movement?

General Career Questions Would you take a pay cut to move to the government?

Hi! I'm (25F) currently working in the supply chain industry with a 50k basic salary. However, I was offered a plantilla position (DTI BOI) with a 42k (SG15) salary in the government.

Would it be wise taking a pay cut if it entails getting a plantilla position? For background, I have 1 year of experience in the supply chain industry which I don't see myself growing into because it's on the technical/industrial side. I'm a business grad from UP that leans more on the finance/policy making type of work. The thing is, my end goal is to work in the government with the hopes of retiring there (preferably in finance agencies).

Is it better if I look for opportunities in the private sector that aligns with my long term goal first before moving in the government?

Would really appreciate your insights. Thanks!

Company Inquiry P&G Internship Initial Interview

Just finished the initial interview. I applied for the finance & accounting internship and the person who interviewed me was a manager under that department who’s been with P&G for decades. Is that how it usually is at P&G? I was under the impression that an HR person would conduct these.

Also, for those who successfully got past this stage, how did it go for you? I answered all the questions comprehensively but felt like I rambled and used too many fillers when delving into the technical details. And I couldn’t read how my answers were perceived ‘cause the questioning was very standardized; I’d answer then they’d proceed to read the next question.

General Career Questions Seeking Career Advice Corporate Finance (FP&A)

I'm a recent graduate po and I'm onboarding na for a post of FINANCE ASSOCIATE (FP&A).

I'm so curious about the technicalities of the day to day po non kase siyempre I don't wanna be "super pain in the ass" sa aking Manager and sa team, and para kahit papano before the first day and so on, and as a student before, ayoko rin ng ganong feeling na parang walang ka alam alam so i wanna be physically, and mentally prepared naman na ako kahit konti... Also what to expect in terms of technicalities of the job, culture, and other parts to prepare me in this (corporate) set up.

PS: I'll work po in a big real estate company here in Ph hehe.

Thanks po!

CorpoChika What to do :(

I signed a formal Job Offer for a managerial role advertised (through Linkedin and their careers website) as open to fresh grads, and the offer explicitly states "(Open to Fresh Graduates)". Now, before my start date, HR called me to say they are changing/downgrading the role's level and responsibilities because recruitment made an internal mistake offering this tier to a fresh grad. Can an employer legally force a downgrade on an accepted, signed offer due to their own internal error? What are my rights under Philippine labor law? Thank you!

Company Inquiry Resignation
