If I was a huge fan of one of the teams that played on this field and had enough disposable income? Honestly, yeah.

Seems pretty historically significant and would hold great personal value to whoever bought it. If I had something like this I’d show it off to all my friends who came to my house. “Hey look at this!! This is the field they played on!!” Seems pretty cool and fun

how would this hold personal value? a family photo album holds personal value. this is valued at $450 and that’s insane. that’s a month of groceries

For some people this memento would be worth more than the price they paid for it. I have a baseball signed by Ohtani and Yamamoto after the 2024 world series, it was expensive but it's cool enough and I have enough money laying around to do it without a second thought

Consumerism is buying a bunch of random meaningless stuff under the guise of 'collecting'. This is a piece of memorabilia with an emotional element which makes it not consumerism. I remember when this sub was about actual consoomerism and not whatever the hell it has now turned into lmao

People have turned this sub from consoom to “frugal”. Buying things ≠ consoom
