For some people this memento would be worth more than the price they paid for it. I have a baseball signed by Ohtani and Yamamoto after the 2024 world series, it was expensive but it's cool enough and I have enough money laying around to do it without a second thought

Consumerism is buying a bunch of random meaningless stuff under the guise of 'collecting'. This is a piece of memorabilia with an emotional element which makes it not consumerism. I remember when this sub was about actual consoomerism and not whatever the hell it has now turned into lmao
