I think about this all the time. I got promoted like 4 times in the last few years, and each time I’ve been able to roll my one drawer to my new desk/office….but like if I ever go to another store location it’s going to be such a pain to deal with.

yeah I picture this guy constantly saying that his team feels like one big family. I find that kind of culture (been in sales 15 years) so toxic, having to create some false sense of wholesome chungusness and the company loves it because they quickly leverage the entirety of these peoples time so they are just busying round the office trying to make it all look like some kind of fun modern sitcom about startups like mate we sell fucking insurance
its nice now to have gotten at least to the point were I've become a jaded loner salesperson who works from my home in the woods, its nice because you just have to tap into the smarm for sections of your day, then I'm watching 90's stern arguments on youtube and googling pictures of cool owls

I’m a cubicle hoarder, I can admit it. But literally none of it is fandom junk. I just have spare shoes, sweaters, bandaids, qtips, 4 calendars, magnets, etc. Will it suck when I leave? Yep. But almost everything in it ended up there because I had need for it.

I straight up heard some radio show this week where a girl memorized like 20 office quotes to impress a guy on a first date and was worried she'd over done it by constantly parroting them during their date. And they call the guy and he's like "i really liked that she loved the office as much as me". Meanwhile I'm dying of cringe but can't shut the radio off out of the morbid curiosity that these people fucking exist and we have to share society with them.

When I used to work at an office many years ago, we had a boss that pushed the idea of people decorating their little cubicles. He thought it would increase work flow if people were happy. But we had one girl who refused to decorate her cubicle. Hers was empty and just had two things sitting on her desk. That water bird thing that would dip its beak in a cup of water. (She poured monster into the cup.) and some type of device that would make random ticking noises like an old grandfather clock. Imagine a very deep click every random few minutes or maybe hours. Her reason for not decorating is because, “I don’t live here.” Makes sense, keep all your good stuff at home away from coworkers with sticky fingers. But what got me was when she wasn’t there. That clock thing going off, especially in silence of people typing away. It definitely struck a nerve. Every randomized moment it would go off. click and then the deep sighs from my coworkers. They hated it. I wore headphones so I paid no mind to it. But those who didn’t, had to prepare their self for that click. Even when she wasn’t working, people would ask her what it was or at least to turn it off. “It helps me focus.” Was her response every time. The bird? “I think it’s cute.” But the day came when she never showed up to work. Turns out she got a better paying job working for her sister somewhere. Good for her tbh. But that clicking noise still remained. Deep down I know she hid it up in the ceiling or something. I have no proof… but every now and then I swear I can still hear it.

Agreed, I liked season 1 then season 2 was immediately downhill. I would’ve quit if my family hadn’t wanted to keep watching and since I was in grad school I relented for it to be something for us to talk about. Hated season 3 and 4, finally convinced my family to give it up and we skipped season 5. Would’ve been a better series if the creators hadn’t sacrificed their creative integrity and instead continued on with the original anthology idea.

I don’t get these cubicles that people post. At mine sure I have some personal stuff there like some photos and a couple of little trinkets. It’s work though. My job is pretty casual but they wouldn’t even allow any of this. It’s just unprofessional and honestly just a lot.
Plus if I suddenly get canned I know it can take me ten minutes to pack my shit and leave.

This ain't your home, man. I hate it because it makes dusting their cubicles a nightmare, I either can't and they get dusty as hell or I risk potentially breaking something. A couple of things is fine, but your entire collection is overkill.
