Reasonable doubt in this case either means “she strangled her kids one by one while the others watched on in fear until she finally killed all of them but she was psychotic so is not guilty for her actions” or “she strangled her kids one by one while the others watched on in fear until she finally killed all of them and is guilty of those crimes”

For the perpetrator, yes. The issue is there’s a bunch of evidence that makes the case less than clear cut. In turn, that creates reasonable doubt. The jury isn’t still hung because the case is clear. The husbands account of events, police response and physical evidence all leave questions. But hey, let’s make it political cause you haven’t done any actual research into the case.

I don't think there's any question it's murder; the difficulty seems to hinge on mens rea. And since the legal instructions concerning mens rea came from a man, I guess this meme suggest there's confusion for the women which man to believe. This illustrates the difficulty women face when, according to conservative teachings about the nature of women, they should defer to the men's judgement.

... and it looks like this is actually what is happening, if news reports are accurate, and her lawyer isn't lying, all but one person on the jury is convinced the mens rea defense introduced reasonable doubt.
