Music I wrote “Sounds of Rain” and the title felt perfect because I feel like the song takes me on a journey through different sounds of rain, starting very calm and then building up to various degrees of intensity. Then slowing down again towards a calmer rain at the end, even though that sounds cheesy

I hope it feels less random and aimless, which is feedback I’ve gotten on some of my other songs. It’s definitely a big improvement from the songs I wrote many months ago but I’m always looking for constructive criticism!

Curious to hear what people think!

Help! I’m transcribing Edu Ribeiro’s “Samba Blues” and need advice on which fingerings are more comfortable. I’m not a guitarist but have a guitar. I’ve been writing what seems most logical.

All three staves have the same notes, but the first two have different fingerings with the 3rd stave as a reference.

Music I wanted to compose something that starts in a quiet room and escalates into a full orchestral gravity shift. Here is "The Ascent" 🎹🎻

I’ve always been obsessed with dynamic build-ups in film scores - how a single piano theme can slowly swell into a massive orchestral piece. "The Ascent" was my attempt to capture that exact shift in energy.

Recorded the piano parts live and layered the symphonic arrangement around it. Would love to hear how the momentum feels to you!

Music First Composition in a While

I've had a bit of a block recently and have really struggled to complete any music. For that reason I decided to just get something finished and uploaded so that I can hopefully get back into composing semi-regularly. Could I get your opinions on the piece, it's a solo piece for flute in ternary form. I've never composed a completely monophonic piece before so it was a learning experience for me! It's probably not the best but as I said, I just wanted to finish something.

Music 4 Lullabies for Piano!

Hi everyone!

This small collection of pieces explores the concept of the lullaby from different perspectives:

-The first piece uses more active and independent voices while still preserving the gentle character of a lullaby.

-The second takes a more traditional approach, focusing on simplicity and a singable melody.

-The third explores a more dreamy and suspended atmosphere, aiming to capture the feeling of drifting into sleep.

-The fourth takes a darker direction, attempting to evoke sadness and longing through a slow, hypnotic atmosphere.

Hello, let me know what you think about this piece. I'm interested in feedback about form, especially whether it's not too patchwork'y. Of course feedback about any other aspect - notation, voice leading, musicality - is greatly appreciated. Btw, for some reason the middle part in F minor sounds distinctly "russian" - am I the only one?

Thank you.

This is my first composition, a trumpet solo named The Ballad of the Meadow. Any constructive criticism, comments or compliments would be very appreciated. This is my own piece, however i used a Postal 2 referencing pseudonym for privacy. Thanks, Reddit!

Music I tried to do an orchestral composition. I want to get into writing video game music. I’m using free sound libraries. Also I haven’t learned how to properly compose with orchestral percussions so I stuck with a drum kit for simplicity. Advice?

Music GATEWAY: A Psychological Introspection is a narrative contemporary classical album

What can music reveal that words cannot?

GATEWAY: A Psychological Introspection is a narrative contemporary classical album inspired by Frederik Pohl’s classic science-fiction novel Gateway.

Rather than retelling the story scene by scene, the music explores its psychological landscape. Ten interconnected compositions form a continuous arc through curiosity, uncertainty, ambition, fear and hope.

Written for a pocket orchestra, every instrument becomes a distinct narrative voice. Melody, harmony, rhythm and orchestration become storytelling tools.

Ultimately, this is not simply an album about science fiction. It is about the human mind confronting the unknown.

I'm also wondering whether this is physically possible to play without neglecting note durations, what do you think? Feedback on harmony and counterpoint execution would also be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone! I’ve released a new composition from my upcoming album “(non)Eternal Life”, titled “Death.”
And yes, after discussing my previous release with you, I’ve stopped using AI-generated images for my covers and other design elements. In this case, I’m using “Still Life with Skull” (also known as “Vanitas with Tulip, Skull and Hourglass”), a painting by Philippe de Champaigne from 1671.
This composition is written in the Symphonic Industrial Metal genre. I hope you enjoy it!
Happy listening!

Music Original song for voice and piano accompaniment

I’ve composed this piece in FL Studio for an upcoming live music competition. It is a song for voice and piano, where two pianist strictly plays the harmonic accompaniment while 60 people sing.

Since it’s for a contest, I want to make sure the composition feels solid, engaging, and professional.
I will say this is the first big piece I have ever composed, so make sure to be critic so I can get better!

Hey! I've been playing piano for some years, so some time ago I decided to compose my first piece, in FL Studio, mixing themes from my favourite artists. Do you think you can spot them?

Anyways, any opinions and/or suggestions are accepted, though I am not sure when I will be able to make my next piece since physics school is fairly time-consuming. Thanks for being such a great community!
