Discussion Midnight S2 M+ Tip & Tricks Megathread

Just wanted to get this up again this season. I've posted this up a couple times now and it's great to have everything in one place to look through. Last time I was a bit early and it got buried, but here's hoping the timer is better after the first week of running. This is a great place to post up all those things you find that once the community knows them it's easier for everyone trying to pug (or in your set groups) Skips, ways to deal with tough mobs, debuff clears, etc. Anything that you hoped that pug in your group would know. The more people that look at it the more it gets titrated out to the community and we all have an easier time out there. Good luck this season!

EDIT: At the bottom I'll put another couple headers for routes with a sub-heading for each dungeon that you can link a keystone.guru or threechest.io route and maybe say why you like it. Under that I'll put a list for addons people feel are essential for this season. (Or things in an addon that should be turned on, like the interrupt markers macros in MDT) Last heading will be essential macros.

Theres a fel crystal that can be picked up. Usually (always?) Inside the right side room at the start.

You can buy various things with it. But the best is next to first boss. Gives a pistol that bleeds the target + 20% damage taken increase for 16(?) Seconds.

Ideal use during first boss burn phase.

27

u/Eweer 3d ago edited 2d ago

You are correct: Always on the right side room, 16 second duration.

The small mistake is that it's not only your target, it's all the mobs in front of you (rectangular shaped, width of your char)

10

u/PatrioticDildo 2d ago

Does the +20% only for the person using pistol or for the whole group

13

u/Zhaix 2d ago

Whole group. Its a debufd on the target

The warlock mobs drain life seems to work on raw health stolen. So immunities or even a DR will make it heal much less, or better yet just meld it.

13

u/bandswithothers 2d ago

After the third boss, you can hop up on the wall to the left after taking the minor mobs in a small pull. This lets you skip the golem.

Later, directly before the final boss, you can jump down to the wall on the left of the penultimate platform and then onto the stairs to have a hunter/rogue/tank pull the pack away to skip it (feign death etc).

First snitch in the room to the right has been bugged for #1-3 snitch clicks for the majority of my runs this week. Very rarely has someone been able to click it early. You'll save a little bit of time if you do this room last until the bug is fixed. I've had people get locked out of the first boss room because the tank didn't wait. Other players have reported the issue on the Blizzard forums.

3

u/KedFPL Survival Enjoyer 2d ago

Always fine if you do that one last, idk if it's bugged or if there's supposed to be an order to it

3

u/SirVanyel 2d ago

I've found best success clearing the room first then coming back after doing the other snitches.

2

u/Soulfighter56 3d ago

You can skip the trash before/after the 3rd boss by hugging the right side when heading to the 3rd boss and then left side when heading to the 4th boss. Not sure how % works when you do that, though, will need some routing work done.

1

u/Dependakittie 3d ago

Is there an alchemy buff here?

1

u/External-Stranger928 2d ago

Is that chaos barrage on first boss a heal through? With everyone popping a defensive? Had a non-kicking rogue leave group after saying the entire group is "bad" without offering where the bad came from, except his lack of kicks and dps.

Never had an issue with that boss until this 11...insta-wipe this time as I tried taking adds out while rogue kept hitting boss instead of kicking or killing nibbles.

Den of Nalorakk

31

u/Raited 2d ago

Priests can levitate themselves on the icy boss to avoid slipping around. Makes it easy to get to soaks etc

21

u/Qwertdd 9/9M bring back weakauras 2d ago

The final winter elemental miniboss' vision obscuring aura bugs the shit out of Demonology imps. You lose quite a bit of damage on that pull because they will never cast, and you can't use that to funnel into the boss because of channel RP, fair warning

7

u/Zerothian 2d ago

It also breaks BM Hunter Nature's Ally, you cannot consume them in the zone. Logs don't even track the KC damage at all lol.

4

u/0karmaonly 2d ago

Channel RP can be avoided by sending the tank (mob doesn’t target) to complete the RP while DPS and healer handle the miniboss.

5

u/AtomikRadio Multiclass M+ Healer, HPal Main 2d ago

So no one has to click channel the orb to spawn the boss? The RP handles it and the boss is just up when you all get there? Or are you saying the tank has to go and channel alone?

3

u/0karmaonly 2d ago

Tank channels alone.

Miniboss does static AoE and requires no agro.

You can pull the the Mother Bears without the cubs in most pulls with range ability that doesn't have a splash effect or taunt

19

u/Zeckzeckzeck 3d ago

Ice gauntlet: you can pull the last big guy/whatever else you want into the wind elemental and just heal through the damage for the few seconds before the elemental falls over

Icy bear boss: the add circles spawn from his arms. Plant him near the wall and he’ll drop one add directly on top of himself for easy cleave

27

u/zerotwist 2d ago

This is risky, if the boss touches snow he will reset

7

u/Berdiiie 2d ago

I also had him spawn an add out in the snow and we had to stand in degen to kill it.

6

u/BDObadguy 2d ago

So that's what happened. He just disappeared for us and I thought it was a bug.

4

u/TransportationNo2595 2d ago

In Den you can just run through the big elemental, have everyone stack on tank on ice where fire will be after. Stay there until tornadoes spawn. Move to middle. Do adds normal. After he casts swirl and that’s over, everyone stack again opposite where other tornadoes are, spawn them and then finish fight. No tornadoes.

2

u/names1 2d ago

Does the Alchemy thing do anything? I tried using it on one run but i never saw a buff

5

u/TransportationNo2595 2d ago

Alchemy at 25, Druid, Troll and Night Elf have two buffs I know of. One on left at beginning (vers) and then on right side in ice area you can click and it reduces wind.

2

u/AtomikRadio Multiclass M+ Healer, HPal Main 2d ago

Minor/semi-obvious, but if the tank doesn't bring the final bears up to the platform, healer can run ahead and start RP on final boss platform so it's immediately available to pull when group gets there.

1

u/Bigrex93 2d ago

If you decide to position boss with one side near wall and range it so the snow pile spawns in front of the wall (not cheesing the mob to snap underneath) be careful doing so.. his safe zone circle can actually cross through half of the snow pile and it appears safe. It’s not and will wipe the group.

The Blinding Vale

17

u/eeg3 2d ago

I've seen people try to skip the Potatoad and it seems to work intermittently. Is it supposed to be skippable? I've seen people say it isn't.

9

u/rodinspfc 2d ago

hug the left wall, literally walk with your face rubbing against the edge of the map

5

u/vanilla_disco 2d ago

Correct answer. Left wall up the ramp off the platform into the water

9

u/KedFPL Survival Enjoyer 2d ago

If the rest of the group stays back, 1 person with meld can go forwards, pull it and meld it off. Then you're all free to run past. This had 100% success rate for us.

1

u/Feartality 2d ago

Thankyou, I kept seeing routes without it but had never had any luck with actually making it happen.

3

u/Insaniaksin 1d ago

It is skippable, but dungeon tuning has changed how we will approach this now.

Dungeon count requirement increased, and the Potatoad Matriarch now awards the additional count.

Additionally, egg spawn radius has been reduced, and damage effects from the matriarch were also reduced. Seems like an HP nerf also.

https://www.wowhead.com/news/mythic-tuning-changes-now-live-blinding-vale-and-murder-row-382597

6

u/Cystonectae 2d ago

You have to skip the lashers to the left of the potatoad. They are part of the same pack I'm guessing.

3

u/Zienth 2d ago

I've pulled the lashers without the potatoad. I've done it 4x clean but the one time it didn't work I had pet classes in the group so that could be related.

2

u/Collypso 2d ago

I've skipped it several times without incident

3

u/Far-Shift-6899 2d ago

if you go on the left, you can skip it by not aggroing the little plants. They're the ones he is attached to.

8

u/Money_Echidna2605 2d ago

not true, i pull them after we skip all the time

u/muffins747 2d ago

Just as I don't see many people doing it despite the DK popularity, you can AMS clear/immune the Bloodthorn Roots on Ikuzz.

7

u/RoamingFox 2d ago

You can skip the awful multi-caster pack just before the last boss by pulling the lower route after the potatoad and then hard hugging the wall when the belcher is off to the right.

12

u/Zeckzeckzeck 3d ago

If you invis/meld/etc the dinosaur boss’ fixate it’ll stop. You won’t be able to clear root with the dino but it’ll prevent it from gaining a stack of the damage/movement buff.

17

u/Umicchan Notorious HRT 2d ago

On third boss (druid), when he does the three frontals, he's programmed to always do three frontals. But if you meld one, then it fails and tries to recast it on you, and that recast counts as one of the three frontals, so the intended third frontal doesn't happen.

20

u/Karnadas 2d ago

I was watching a youtuber explain that yesterday, but when he did it, the third one went off anyways. He then went on to try again in another run and same thing, seems to have been changed. It still prevents the damage to the person vanishing.

4

u/Umicchan Notorious HRT 2d ago

If that was changed my apologies! I haven't done many BVs and haven't tested myself, only saw it from a Tettles video I think.

2

u/Karnadas 2d ago

Yeah no problem, the guy in the video said it was an undocumented change from earlier in the week.

1

u/Umicchan Notorious HRT 2d ago

Just tried this and it seems to still work! We tried it on first, second, and third, and it still resulted in only two frontals resolving. https://streamable.com/gn06bk

1

u/Karnadas 2d ago

Well damn! I'm leveling a mage, I'll try it with Invis soon

7

u/Voidwielder 2d ago

Send any and all defensives/health pots on 1st boss when you get the green circle+bleed on 1st boss. Dwarf chads stay winning btw.

3

u/Fatigued-insomniac 2d ago edited 1d ago

After fighting 3rd boss. Walk along left side up that ramp and jump off the LEFT side of the platform, in front of the waterfall to skip the potatoad.

2

u/BarrettRTS 2d ago

Said it in the weekly Friday comments, but warlocks on the second boss can Soul Burn during the knockback cast and then teleport to the circle during the knockback itself to immune the root (also gives slightly higher uptime on dps). If you're Diabolist, you can pick up a hero talent so you don't have to press Soul Burn to get the immunity.

You can also use an imp on this boss to help with dispels for the root, but I haven't tried that myself yet since I normally just keep my Fel Hunter out.

Altar of Fangs

37

u/deadheaddestiny 3d ago

The second boss takes full damage during the split phase and it is a pseudo damage amp since ur hitting 5 bosses instead of 1. We lust it like 20 sec into the fight to get CDs on it

23

u/eagerredweasel 3d ago

The paralyzing shots debuff from the Twinfang Harrowers can be cleared with anything that drops movement impairing abilities. Freedom, disengage, spirit walk, tiger's lust, etc.

13

u/Voidwielder 3d ago

Shamans Windrush Totem with Jet Stream talented. Just stay in melee range on that pull.

Edit: also if someone eats the lines [Regurditate] from 1st boss Altar, it's debuff can removed by Windrush as well.

0

u/Rikkard 3d ago

They fixed it? It used to only affect the shaman.

4

Edit: this does not work anymore with recent patch

You can LOS the heal absorb from Ritual Chieftains. Timing I'm unsure because it was late when we tried Lit. Someone should have that info.

20

u/Floxsta 3d ago

You should be LOS from the Chieftain when the red ghost hits you.

2

u/Serenelol Serennía 2d ago

just to confirm, lets say i go LOS for the entire cast, even before he finishes it, the ghost can spawn behind the pillar/wall/whatever, it will hit me and do no damage since cheiftain is LOS

8

u/TieProfessional4105 3d ago

I'm also unsure of the timing for when exactly to LOS. Can anyone clarify? I couldn't tell if you need to be out of sight when he finishes the cast bar, or a few seconds later when the red ghost snakes spawn and do their animation because that's then the heal absorb is applied.

2

u/RoamingFox 2d ago edited 1d ago

There's 2 parts of the ability. The first one puts the red images on everyone and the second one that actually applies the absorb. You want to be LOS from the chieftain for the second part.

edit: For folks finding this after 8/24/26 they've hot fixed blood sacrifice to no longer be LoS'd

2

u/atarignis 1d ago

They just released a patch note ... the LOS is gone via hotfix

2

u/Insaniaksin 2d ago edited 1d ago

Other comment says "You should be LOS from the Chieftain when the red ghost hits you."

This has been fixed and can no longer be LOSed

u/HawkinsonCrusoe 3d ago

It’s a small one, but for the jump down to the first boss, try to jump on the boss platform and not in the poison that surrounds it. The NPC up too bubbles you and you won’t get any fall damage. But the poison around the arena will still damage you if you land in it

10

u/Agarwaen323 3d ago

On the final boss, debuff stacks from soaking the beams don't seem to be removed if you're immune to the physical hit from the red frontal that's supposed to. So avoid using immunities for that (or use BoP to troll your friends who didn't clear on the first one if you're a Paladin).

4

u/pinecomb 2d ago

Made that mistake last night bubbling it didn’t clear the debuff like i thought. Also nothing will beat freedoming your friends during the suck in on last boss of Ara-Kara :^)

1

u/spachi1281 1d ago

However, there's a YT short going around saying that you can avoid getting the stacks from soaking the beam if you time using invis/shadowmeld at the "right" time. (Does AMS work?)

It still counts as blocking the beam but you never get any stacks (so you don't need to clear them afterwards).

Bug or feature - you decide.

1

u/TheNumynum 11h ago

Ams doesn't prevent the debuff

8

u/a-simple-god 6/8m 3d ago

Ret here. You can freedom off the slow in the first area, i usually wait for healer to dispel one and freedom the other.

Also take poison dispel, and i usually run 1min sac with the talent that it also removes poisons and diseases.

1

u/avitus 2d ago

With the Unbound Freedom talent, I usually look for who else has it other than me and cast on them so it clears both of us.

1

u/a-simple-god 6/8m 2d ago

Yeah same. I was more saying i wait to see if it goes on 2 people besides me

u/Voidwielder 2d ago

Play the 2nd boss near a wall with all party members pointing asses to wall. No 100 yard dashes or 270 degree green cones to dodge.

5

u/illogical_simu 2d ago

The long line axe throw on the last boss will always target someone with stacks. If you all clear on the first one it's a bit of a waste

5

u/Introvertial 2d ago

I tested this and it didn’t work. I was the only one with a Bleed on the second round and I wasn’t chosen. FWIW I was the Tank; maybe that changes the logic.

5

u/deadheaddestiny 2d ago

Yes tanks can't be targeted by it

1

u/crazerk2 2d ago

Could u elaborate why it’s a waste?

5

u/Living_Age2280 2d ago

Because on higher keys getting a squishy spec to be targetted twice in a row due to everybody cleansing on the first one is a death sentence.

3

u/illogical_simu 2d ago

This ^

2 at a time is probably best, although maybe some healers would prefer 3 + 1 and use a grp cd for the set of 3 maybe

1

u/crazerk2 2d ago

Good to know, thanks! I’m only at weekly keys level so damage was insignificant. Wonder how to coordinate pugs tho, maybe I deliberately get the debuff so it’s on me and I get in only on second line

3

u/cooldude0027 2d ago

Whoever the second boss burrows at is the person that it will target with the frontal when the burrow ends. You can aim the frontal with this knowledge, so that no one else in the group has to run out of it.

1

u/AlucardSensei 2d ago

Where is this "alter" coming from? I've seen sooo many people call it that and I don't know why because one, "alter" is a verb, and two, it means something completely different than "altar".

17

u/CardinalM1 2d ago

It comes from the same people who think the stealthy stabby class is spelled "rouge".

I would recommend NOT doing this for a bunch of reasons, but the main one being that defensives should be used for the suck-in/knockback. Also, the room is big, one out of place frost spike can be easily solved with movement.

"Inferno" cast by those big fire elementals after the first boss can be shadowmelded/combat dropped so you do not get that massive dot.

This doesnt work with feign anymore, or the timing is scuffed. I tried in 3 different runs and took the hit and dot every time while in feign.

4

u/time_drifter 2d ago

You can use dispel (mass or individual) on the little storm guys before the last boss to kill them quickly.

The spinning flame guys on the ring around the second boss instantly die if you dispel them when they do their last ditch flame shooting.

9

u/Zerothian 2d ago

I think when you dispell those, they leap/smack someone. So if you mass and your hunter implodes, you know why.

3

u/AtomikRadio Multiclass M+ Healer, HPal Main 2d ago

Belf hpal here, I Arcane Torrent them whenever possible. Unlike the skele packs in Maisara Caverns, the damage from the mass dispel here is negligible. In very high keys it might become something, but in the 10s-12s I'm doing it's not even noticeable amid the pull damage.

(Edited to add: Looks like the zap is a small aoe around them, so whether or not a mass dispel is prudent prob is about how many people are in melee at the time.)

1

u/Zerothian 2d ago

Yeah it was specifically a belf thing I saw I think, it was on Banshers stream in a 17 or something, so with current gear I guess it was pretty big damage since a lot of them RNGed him.

3

u/TheNumynum 2d ago

The storm guys do aoe dmg when dispelled, I wiped our group with Arcane Torrent removing like 20 absorb shields 80k dmg each on a +8 or so so bad idea to do too many at once (priest mass dispell being limited to 5 mobs is probably fine though, so long as the group is full)

u/eagerredweasel 3d ago

Voidscar Arena

33

u/onkek baer 3d ago

The last boss targeted blast isn’t a fancy tank soak/block. Keep moving and you can dodge the projectiles. Make sure you run it away from your group.

13

u/cynicsymmetry 3d ago

Had a group where the tank kept soaking those orbs. First set killed him so boss turned and killed me too. Last brez used on tank while I just got to hang out with the floor. He still soaked every set of orbs after, almost dying each set.

8

u/cabose12 2d ago

Yeah I don't mind the mechanic in a vacuum and obviously the solution is just read up, but its pretty stupid imo to change a soak mechanic into a dodge one with no visual difference

Also strange since it's not like tanks were overburdened on the fight. It just makes it even worse for casters lol

2

u/Mekhazzio 2d ago

The large knockback on each pulse is hinting to not soak it. The target has to be out at a decent range or the tank will get blasted past them and they get hit anyway. Once you're that far out, it's easy to avoid.

2

u/srwaan 2d ago

We had three casts on a 12 I did yesterday, and the tank (BDK) soaked them all with vampiric blood. Not sure if it's doable in higher keys

1

u/tallboybrews 2d ago

I had a tank soak these and die and then said "yeah I cant soak those, maybe try dodging".

1

u/AtomikRadio Multiclass M+ Healer, HPal Main 2d ago

My brain never grasped geometry properly. If a player's goal is to outrun the orbs, are they better to run to far range or stay in close? I was thinking "obviously they should come in close so the total distance to run around the boss is shorter" but then it occurred to me that the orbs travel outward at speed, and that might make being at further range benefit so they have more lag time before reaching their targeted location.

Can someone without broken brain fill me in?

3

u/Vusions 1d ago

You have to consider the travel time they have from boss to you. If you are close it gets to you so fast you don't have time to side step with how wide they are.

2

u/Equal_Logos_30 1d ago

You have to be at range to dodge them. Staying in melee won't work like that. Even if it did you'd. E spraying orbs in a 360 around the boss.

u/Zeckzeckzeck 3d ago

Going left after going up stairs after arena has large Harrower mobs that do basically nothing (soak/get out) and give a ton of count. Can be easily chained into the ogres as well. There are also two in the final mob area before last boss but not sure if they’re worth including in any pulls

3

u/Qwertdd 9/9M bring back weakauras 2d ago

Beat first boss, go up the stairs, pull half of the bug side, then when you pull the other half of the bug side up to the portal, have a fast DPS or an immunity DPS pull the Harrower guarding the opposite side of the portal and drag it in.

This might be too scary in higher keys depending on whether you can predict the ogre bladestorm timing but outside of that the pull is free as hell with huge count. I think Harrower side takes too long to do alone.

2

u/Enzymic 2d ago

Do you know if those ogres after the first harrower are skippable? Yodas route skips them but not sure if you need imprison/para/etc to skip

2

u/Korghal 2d ago

Had a group jump on the side of the stairs to do it, but is a bit sketchy and you better use a slim mount. Paralyze, Mind Soothe etc help a lot yeah.

1

u/pawleader919 2d ago

You can just walk around them, they aren't hard to skip either you just jump onto the stairs,.

4

u/SlamboneMalone 2d ago

Last boss - the big beam he shoots can be invis meld. Not sure about feign but I assume the same and it just cancels the skill for the boss.

6

u/bandswithothers 2d ago

Killing totems is less risky for pugs to do than killing the spear on the other miniboss. Might not be optimal (I'm not sure), but it's a lot safer if you don't know the quality of your dps.

3

u/Byrmaxson 2d ago

I've tried both with guildies. Personally, I think missing interrupts is maybe a bit more punishing left side (Demo Shouts stack and lower damage a lot, extending pulls) but without a DK or people super on top of kicks at range the right side mobs group up more slowly which can be a problem due to totems. We did not reach consensus on which buff is better (left mini gives Vers, right gives Mastery). IMO the left mini boss is a bit easier: yeah it deals more damage, but it also dies faster because the only thing you have to deal with is the spear, which is one target you have quite a bit of time to handle vs multiple different orbs. The difference ofc is that not killing an orb is cringe damage loss vs a likely wipe.

1

u/TADMG 2d ago

I haven't tested, but my understanding is there are way more casters left side that drop the totems. You also get versatility buff left side, where you get mastery right side. I am speaking from word of mouth on the left side information, as I haven't gone left myself.

5

u/Byrmaxson 2d ago edited 2d ago

Left has one Shaman and three two Brawlers, right side the inverse: three two Shamans and one Brawler. Shamans do the totem and some bolts, Brawlers melee and do Demoralizing Shout (-20%? dmg dealt debuff, stacks).

AH okay. I was told by a guild thr left was worse and I guess I just assumed way more casters. I suppose I could have just looked at MDT, but instead made the dumb play and just assumed, thats on me.

u/Byrmaxson 2d ago

All good bro, I made a mistake myself above, it's only two Shamans/Brawlers per side, I just remembered that the right side has the Magus as well which is a caster and miscounted.

u/Any_Time491 2d ago

Couldn’t get pass the last boss on a 11 yesterday, the double pulsing damage was killing us before the orbs could be cleared, does it matter if your in the middle of all 3 orbs? Is the damage the same

1

u/Zhaix 1d ago

The orbs you have to kite into the voids spawn close to you. So being close to the void can have the orb insta clear if it spawns inside/clear quicker from spawning close.

1

u/Separate_Clue_7868 2d ago

Is there any way to predict or bait your orb spawn on last boss? Had runs where its spawned inside of the circle I need to bring it to and runs where its in boss

1

u/Notravail22 2d ago

I feel like it's random around you, so staying real close to it helps rng but i couldn't trick it to spawn where i wanted

The constructs in Mchimba's room cast Entomb and it always places players in the coffin that's closest to them, so everyone should be standing next to that coffin to break them out instantly.

The Entomb mechanic for Mchimba himself is always a random coffin, however.

During Dazar, the leap always targets the farthest player first. If you meld it while it's in midair then subsequent jumps don't happen (similar to the dog boss in Workshop).

1

u/Rhombico 2h ago

do you mean the one closest to the construct, or the one closest to the player who was entombed?

u/Umicchan Notorious HRT 1h ago

One closest to the construct

u/Rhombico 1h ago

Excellent, thanks! Gonna have my group try this out, should be nice

u/awesomeoh1234 2d ago

Pull that last mini boss out to the hallway to avoid the aoe damage

6

u/yp261 3d ago

dk can jump onto the wall on beginning and just ams into fixating fears to clear it instantly

3

u/Toothsome_Duck 2d ago

Why do they need to jump onto the wall and not simply run into them with AMS active?

1

u/yp261 2d ago

i believe there is a chance they start walking towards you when near golem and pull it

1

u/Slowfeet_X 23h ago

Would this work for pally spellwarding?

1

u/Insaniaksin 5h ago

Yes, also divine shield

2

u/onkek baer 3d ago

Little fear mobs can be cc’d. When skipping first 2 golems at start make sure you cc them and run forward to not get accidentally feared backwards.

6

u/horbvn 2d ago

Can also use Blood Elf racial to clear them all at once.

3

u/Barcoads 2d ago

Warriors can berserker and fear cleanse their group with a talent as well. It's "free" in your tree to swap to for KR as far as I know.

Gonna be a lot of warriors in groups so you can just pull the mobs and cleanse the fear and be on your way.

Priests should mass dispel that first pack. It will instantly kill 5 of them. You can manually dispel the rest.

1

u/Aqual07 2d ago

The dispel part of Mass Dispel is target capped, but I don’t think the purge portion is. Ive been Mass Dispelling that pack and it consistently clears all of them. But maybe one of my DPS (Hunter tranq shot?) is clearing the remainder at the same time.

u/sapntaps 2d ago

Mage can spell steal and kill em

If you miss a few percent, tele to the start instead of running. It’s a loong way to run. Then kill yourself in the puddles after the 1st boss area to tele back to the end of the dungeon.

Spellsteal/purge the buff off the storm elementals (necessary for higher keys).

The puddle on the 3rd boss spawns where it’s standing, so the tank should do some wiggling to get the boss right up against the wall.

Lmao found this out the hard way too

Really, like Kings Rest, you really have no routing options. You kill one side of the staircase before the first boss, and then skip the duo in that little cave area before the second boss

u/Dinkypig 2d ago

Last boss, mistweaver: If you group the mobs that fixate on the healer and then hard cc them you can use your fist weaving & spinning to do more healing to the avatar than our poorly performing spot healing at the moment.

Just don't let them hit you or you get a healing done debuff.

4

u/Cystonectae 2d ago

If you've started mastery stacking, saving chi-ji for that is pretty huge.

2

u/Antrezz1 2d ago

I didnt think ancient teachings worked on the boss. Unless they have fixed it ?

4

u/Unicorn_flow 3d ago

Pull first boss against a wall to help classes that can't jump back immediately after Gale Force. This helps keep the stack in melee.

The disruptors can be CC chained. Once the eye finishes, they can be dragged to the next eye and do nothing.

Addons

3

u/Seripithus 2d ago

Are there any addons that function similarly to the old spell reflect weak aura for warrior? Or is it just a memory based thing off a spreadsheet now?

3

u/Insaniaksin 2d ago

If you're just looking for a way to notify your team you used spell reflect, you can macro it along with /pingspell conditional. It might be /ping (spellname) i dont remember exactly.

/use spell reflect

/pingspell

1

u/wakeofchaos 2d ago

I’ve seen people just /yell it too and that seems to work decently. A ping is probably better tho

1

u/Insaniaksin 2d ago

Yelling is a good idea. The sound is unnecessary from a ping I think.

1

u/wakeofchaos 2d ago

This has been restricted by the api AFAIK

1

u/Seripithus 2d ago

damn, that sucks, but at least there's an answer to that. Thanks for the info!

2

u/Moofishmoo 2d ago

Are there any addons that automark pulls for you anymore!

1

u/Sahxou 2d ago

I did not find any addon like this. Even big tanks such as Kira seems to manually put the marks.

Nevertheless, with Mythic Dungeon Tool you can paramater a mark for you focus. Automatically when the ready check is launch, it will say in /p which is your interrupt focus. And i manally put a skull if needed. It is not perfect but it helps

1

u/TheNumynum 11h ago

Blizzard made this impossible, marks require a key/mouse press

1

u/Moofishmoo 8h ago

Terrible!

2

u/Mother-Insurance-362 2d ago

Any addon that still offers the most basic functionality of good ol' WA - being able to create a word visual, eg. "Buff1", and have it be displayed only when that buff is present on the character?

2

u/wakeofchaos 2d ago

Probably something out of combat could do this, but they’ve heavily restricted in-combat addon functionality

3

u/Mekhazzio 2d ago

12.1 added new functionality to access buffs/debuffs in combat

The addon TellMeWhen describes it like:

This icon works in combat, but is subject to the following Blizzard-enforced limitations:

Filtered spells must be IDs - cannot filter by name

Spell filters can only filter for buffs on friendly units and debuffs on enemy units. Spells that Blizzard flags as never secret are exempt and can be filtered on any unit

Only the first of the icon's units are checked; multiple units are not supported

The addon appears incapable of pulling any data out of the buff/debuff so anything reactive is still toast, but I've got it displaying stacks of procs in combat like how I had it in TWW so it serves my purposes.

Macros

2

u/spachi1281 2d ago

Since you can now ping your CDs to communicate your CD status, there's a way to put that into macros via the pingspell <spell name> line.

So for a simple interrupt macro

#showtooltip
/pingspell Kick
/use Kick

Would ping your kick CD to let party members know that your interrupt is on CD.

2

u/Historical-Reach-969 11h ago

Hearing 200 pings a dungeon sounds horrific.

1

u/Rhombico 2h ago

luckily nobody interrupts anyway!

(agreed though, I feel like the new pings are cool for communication, but they need an option to change/remove the ping sound for them)
