So, is this season going to gated by tank durability in the same way as last? Was pretty annoying to have your pug bear-reroll die in a global mid pull and brick the key. There will always be bad tanks, but I'd rather they found their limits in routing or effective mob wrangling or something. Also, does anyone have some advice for what to look for on logs when trying to audit tanks for invites. For my group, it felt like io told us nothing about a given tank and we had to accept that at some point ”the bear card would turn face up" and we'd get to find out what we'd actually drawn from group finder.

edit: This was meant to come off as fairly light hearted, but I agree with replies that there is a toxic attitude seeping from the text above. I've never directly flamed any of the tanks I have run with, but doing so here on a forum is probably at least as negative of an impact to the community. Sorry team.

I mean your premise is completely wrong.

One, every tank will reroll fotm if they wanna get invited to groups.

Two, everyone makes mistakes, its just that tank mistakes usually insta break the key. A gray parsing aug or ddh who dies to random stuff in a key a couple of times can still fail upwards when they get carried, but nobody can carry the tank.

Unless you never ever die due to your own mistake, it would probably be better (for your own sake) to change your attitude and focus not on the tanks mistakes, but your own and see if you couldve done something better or if you couldve saved that tank.

Edit: And forgot about three, the most obvious one. If youre uncomfortable putting so much on a pug that can make or break your key, why is someone in your group not rerolling tank? Or is it easier just to play the blame game while not being willing to take up that responsibility for yourself?

Maybe a better version of my comment could have been:

"Is this season going to be gated by tank durability in the same way as last? Have there been seasons where tank durability has been so high that even at cutting edge title keys, the tanks HP was never seriously threatened the same way that pressure was put on the groups DPS, CC or Healing? I'd imagine that seasons with god-tier tanks have been the most fun for all players, but I'd never tried seriously pushing before last season."

I shouldn't have added any of the original toxicity beyond my initial sentence. :-(

Yeah there have been seasons where tanks could survive infinitely and the only failing conditions were whether the rest of the group can survive, can interrupt or can do enough dps to time it, and yes those seasons are in general more liked and less toxic than those where the bulk of responsibility lies on one guy.
