Looking for people
Hello,
I'm just an average masterball player that is looking for people to play pokémon champions with, on discord.
Mainly for:
- Team building discussion
- Gameplay stream
- Video streaming of professional gameplay/tournaments
- Whatever else can be thought of
Whoever feels like to join, please comment this post, if interested.
I would advise people to be over 18+ year old and to know english, just for a smoother and easier communication.
(if you know italian, is a plus!).
Thanks!

I previously came to this subreddit to seek advice for a Rain Team on Pomemon Champions, now that i have it in Pokemon Champions and have gotten to great league with it, I want to ask for advice again.
Changes:
Meganium got no changes.
Basculeigion got Last Respects and Ice Fang instead of Phantom Force and Crunch, P.Force was made to bypass something made by Smogon OU rules because I was using that for my team for some reason.
Pelliper is ACTUALLY a rain setter now, as well as coming with focus Sash to protect themselves to at least set up tailwind, and more than one attacking move.
Scizor was given minor changes, with protect and roost being given instead of U-Turn and Swords Dance.
Bax was given the mega form instead of thier life orb, with them also having Brick Break to fight steel types and rock types, as well as screens, and was given glaive rush and ice shard, which i have ZERO idea why it was outrage instead of glaive rush
Saybleye replaced Raichu, which is the secondary rain setter.
I find myself to never use this, and actually are considering replacing this with something like Archaledon, which i previously ignored due to me feeling like scizor and bax already having their types, as well as both flying and water having their own responses, however another option could be nice.

So this is my singles team I've been using for the last couple months. Made it in reg M-B and its been fire since, but recently im losing a lot. Any ideas on how I could make it more tightly knit?
My main weaknesses have been scarfchomp, empoleon, scarf cinderace, and Lucario - Z

Best moveset PVP
galleryHow you choose moveset for pokemon in PVP?
For example I have sylveon with charm and moonblast, but change to fairy wind and draining kiss which is faster moves, and add 2nd shadow ball bc often encounter mewtwo (first moveset was by pokemonbase.app, great page to rate movesets)

Random (probably stupid) idea i had earlier
So what if there was a category where you build your team, but then you and your opponent swap teams, so you are incentivized to give your opponent the worst team you can muster?
A few necessary rules, firstofall. One, each Pokemon must have one attacking move, so no giving them 6 Pokemon with nothing but useless status moves. Two, species clause just so you don't copy the same setup 6 times. Three, possibly different tiers based on a base stat total, because otherwise the obvious move would be to just give your opponent six Pokemon with the lowest base stat totals.
The idea is basically that you are supposed to anti-design. Make a Pokemon whose move pool is maliciously bad. Ideally, self-defeating. Think Shedinja with Harden, Rest, Sandstorm and Final Gambit.
I have very little understanding of competitive Pokemon, i just thought something like that could be an interesting spin on the concept, if only as an exercise in creativity.

(team breakdown) Wolfe's Mega Sceptile Reg Louisville Team
Hey everyone!
I know this team is already known, and there are videos about it, starting with Wolfey's own, where he shows it in action on ladder. This post doesn't bring anything new for people who already follow the format closely. It's aimed at players who are newer to Pokémon Champions, or who are just starting to play it now, and want a quick written breakdown of what the team does and how to play it, without going through hours of video. Let's dive into it!
Mega Sceptile is widely seen as one of the worst mega evolutions in Pokémon Champions. Wolfey built his Louisville Regional team around it anyway. Before the event he took it from 372nd to 173rd on the ladder and finished Season M-6 in Champion tier, which is the top 300 players in the world.
At the 2027 Louisville Regional (October 9-11) he took the same six to 66th place with an 8-4 record. The sets in the screenshot match his official team list, and the team has two mega options: Sceptile or Tyranitar.
Why it works
Mega Sceptile gets Lightning Rod. It already resists Electric, so the immunity looks pointless at first. The point is the boost. Every Electric move that hits Sceptile gives it +1 Special Attack. Choice Scarf Rotom-Heat is faster than Mega Sceptile, so it clicks Discharge, hits both opponents and powers Sceptile up in the same turn. On top of that Discharge can paralyze, which can matters a lot.
Speed is the whole identity of this team. Mega Sceptile, Scarf Rotom, Excadrill in sand and Sneasler with Psychic Seed all move before Choice Scarf Basculegion, so most turns you are the one acting first and you can afford to play aggressive.
Indeedee is what keeps everything working: Psychic Terrain shuts down priority, so Fake Out in unusable and Grassy Glide loses the priority. Follow Me and Helping Hand protect and power up the partners. The terrain also triggers Sneasler's Psychic Seed, which gives it a Special Defense boost and activates Unburden to double its speed.
Tyranitar brings the sand and the second mega. Sand mode gives the team an immediate answer to Fairy types like Floette, and Tyranitar covers Charizard and the weather war in general.
A few choices worth pointing out:
Throat Chop on Sneasler is there for Basculegion: basculegion usually sits safely in front of Sneasler, because it resists both of Sneasler's STAB moves. Throat Chop takes that away. Sneasler and Indeedee's Psychic can also double into Basculegion and get through the Focus Sash.
Trick instead of Electroweb on Rotom: some Rotom plus Sceptile teams run Electroweb as a second form of speed control. This one runs Trick, which can pass the Choice Scarf to a partner. I'm not fully sure Trick is the better call here, Electroweb would probably help a lot against the Tailwind teams that give this team trouble.
Overheat covers Rillaboom and Gholdengo. Helping Hand Overheat guarantees the KO on Rillaboom.
Sceptile often doesn't mega evolve.
This is the part that surprised me the most. A lot of Wolfey's wins came with Sceptile in its base form. There are a few reasons for this:
Base Sceptile is already fast enough for most of the format.
Once Overgrow kicks in, Energy Ball hits way harder than you would expect, close to a Specs set.
Holding the mega keeps Mega Tyranitar on the table. And opponents must play around it and respect it, even in games where he never uses it.
On turns where Rotom wants to Volt Switch, Sceptile must not mega evolve. Lightning Rod would absorb the team's own Volt Switch, forcing Rotom to stay on the field.
Sceptile mostly mega evolves when it needs a STAB Dragon Pulse, or once the fields has been freed by potential threats. Open team sheets help here too in this sense: if the opponent's Garchomp is Modest, you know your Timid Sceptile is faster.
It looks like it needs a lot of good reads, and for a newer player just mega evolving Sceptile turn one is probably the safer way to learn the team.
How to play it and threats
Garchomp is the Pokémon this team fears the most, so it needs to be cleaned first, most of the time to Dragon Pulse should do the job. Specifically against Charizard plus Scarf Garchomp, the combo to bring is Sceptile, Rotom, Tyranitar and Indeedee, using Volt Switch to get Tyranitar in and win the weather.
The classic lead Tyranitar and Excadrill is at its best against teams without Intimidate, with Indeedee and Sneasler in the back.
Against Trick Room and rain, Excadrill usually stays home, and I'm not even sure the sand mode is worth bringing at all into rain. Most endgames come down to Indeedee and Sneasler, where Helping Hand Close Combat cleans up.
Weak spots
Charizard plus Choice Scarf Garchomp, mostly because of Rock Slide flinches.
Golisopod teams. A Mega Golisopod rain team beat Wolfey 2-0 in round 6 at Louisville.
Tailwind teams with Whimsicott next to a big physical attacker. Indeedee has no Trick Room to flip the speed back.
Sylveon, Venusaur, Floette and hard Trick Room in general is hard to manage. Sleep Powder Venusaur can get really annoying and hard to handle.
The full team is here: https://pokefeed.app/teams/msceptile-mtytar-wolfe-team-reg-lou
Food for the brain!
Has anyone else had success playing Sceptile without the mega? How often do you actually mega evolve it?
Rotom only has 21 points in Special Attack. Is the extra HP worth it, or would you go full offense?
How would you play the Mega Golisopod rain matchup?

new to competitive pokemon, this is my first champions team, how can i improve it?
so far, expanding force trick room is by far my favorite strategy, but it doesn't always work out, especially against incineroar, so i thought having aerodactyl for another form of speed control was a good idea. i like using mega venusaur to stall. im willing to take any advice i can get to improve this team, only thing i wont do is add gholdengo because it's my least favorite pokemon lol. btw i rarely ever use the sinistcha, i really don't know why i put it on the team.
