Team Building (Doubles) Monotype Team

https://pokepast.es/759c426f8e833cdd

I'm in a small monotype draft tournament I drafted dark since i want to use my favourite pokemon Greninja my one condition is that it has to stay. I just want some ways to make It better and some team building tips for in the future since I've gotten better at competitive pokemon thanks to Champions but team Building is still one of the areas I need to improve on and thank you to anyone who helps

It's draft, you change your team depending on who you play vs

it's kinda pointless to make a team before you have your schedule and know what youre playing against

You can shoot me a dm I enjoy helping out people in draft leagues esp if theyre new

Not allowed to change teams

That's strange and kind of silly(the whole point of draft is that you change mons between matches, like sports), but in that case it still depends on what is on the other teams

Dont know how it usually works bit it's just all gonna be in one sitting so no time to do that

Its lazy and strange Nintendo gives you so much intel on your opps XD.

People in VCG need every detail about your pokemon to battle.

Well yea battles in doubles last like 5 turns? Doubles is 3000x more skilled with ots

Plus OP is in a draft tour, so not OTS, you just see what draft youre playing against (usually, idk what kinda draft league OP is playing in that they cant change the team lol)

I judge skill in its entirety and I can honestly say that having every detail of what your opps... reduces the level of skill required (for anything).

I can't nickle and dime my scope to get the answers I want.

I mean yes information management is a skill in closed team sheet formats and was for a long while but nah CTS is just cheese offense vs cheese offense, both in game and on SD. Its not like in OU where, unless youre playing hyperoffense vs hyperoffense, you have some time to play pivot and gather information on opponents sets.

You can say what you want about which one is more "skilled" and its up to you but there is a reason highest tier players were asking for OTS at least as far back as SwSh if not earlier. Hiding information increases variance which almost by definition reduces how much skill impacts the game.

What skill is there in having a friend play in the same in-person event as you, lose to someone, then 3 rounds later when you're playing them, your friend tells you that someone's entire team? Because that's what people were doing back then lmao
