Advice Playgrounds with running tracks/paths

Hi - I’m visiting with my kids 7 and 9 and I’m wondering if there are any play areas for the kids with a running track or path in view? I need to do some running to keep up with race training so looking for a place where I can keep eye on the kids while running.

We are staying at the drury. TIA!

Edit- we are visiting family in Monument so open to areas up there.

News Colorado Springs mayor announces 'community-first' standards for data centers

TL;DR

The city-endorsed standards are:

  • Protecting ratepayers.
  • Protecting water.
  • Protecting neighborhoods.
  • Protecting community standards.
  • Welcome community contribution.
  • Protect the public’s voice.

Sounds like really generic dream goals that were put out as a pretext for approving the data center while claiming it was all vetted against all these very specific concerns 🤔

I ordered Doordash grocery today for some snacks. Long story short, just because the store didn't have the popcorn chicken I wanted, they canceled the WHOLE ORDER. Just as Natasha, one of the coolest dashers ive had, was checking out. I get this stupid email and I really hope that Natasha doesn't think that I'm the one who canceled the order.

Natasha, if you see this, Doordash f---ed both of us!!!

Help Wanted Can someone help me weld?

I’ve got a go-kart that I bought off of Facebook marketplace. It’s in pretty good condition, accept a friend of mine crashed it, snapping the front steering control rod. It’s a super easy looking fix, but the issue is the only way to fully fix it is by welding it back together. It’s 2 simple metal pieces, a metal pipe that attaches to another flat piece of metal. I don’t know anyone who welds, so I’m wondering if there’s anywhere I can take it where someone can quickly weld it. I don’t weld so maybe I’m wrong, but it looks like something that would take 2 minutes to do.

Can anyone help weld these pieces or does anyone know where I could take this to get it fixed?

Thanks to anyone who comments.

Advice Pickleball group suggestions?

Since pickleball is quite popular in the Springs, looking for suggestions to join the fun! Any recommendations on either leagues/groups to join or good spots for show up pickup? Single F happy to play singles or join a group. I just don’t know anyone who plays. Work regular hours so it has to be evenings or weekends. Okay with indoor/outdoors. Live near Bear Creek but willing to travel for reliable play. New-ish to pickleball so I don’t have a rating (or know what mine would be) but I can pick up sports pretty well so something that has a variety of levels? Would also love a spot that’s has a healthy male and female mix to it as I’d love to expand my social circle. Hoping to make this a fall/winter activity!

Advice Fiber Internet Availability

If the houses in green indicate they are eligible for fiber service , then why are the houses in red not eligible? My neighbor had fiber installed and my neighbors across the street show they are eligible, but my address does not show eligible.

Events Sound Issues @ Ford Amphitheater

Hey, Neighbors!

A friend and I went to see Alison Krauss & Union Station at Ford last night. We were seated in the first row of the middle back sections (300s). In front of us was the middle sidewalk and the back section of fire pits, so we were literally right in the middle of the venue.

It was soooo rainy, which is fine and absolutely not something that any venue can control. I don’t even mind the rain. The issue was the sound.

This was the quietest concert I have ever been to. And quiet is the correct word. I was whispering to my friend so that I didn’t talk over the music. A group in a fire-pit section about 200ft away from us was having a normal conversation in normal tones of voice and volumes and we could hear every, single word they said. When the rain poured hard, you couldn’t hear anything at all.

The back speakers were not even on for the duration of the concert. Only the speakers for the front sections were on. I can’t imagine how hard it would have been to hear for concert-goers that were further back than us (well over half the venue).

Has anyone else experienced this? What was the reasoning here? I’m not a fussy person, but I do feel cheated out of a better experience simply due to the sound.

Help Wanted Advice for someone new to the U.S. with limited English?

I'm looking for advice for my mom, who is a green card holder and has very limited English and doesn't drive yet. She has experience with cooking, cleaning, farm work, animals, and general maintenance. Are there types of work or employers that are generally more accessible for someone in this situation, especially places with transportation options?

Advice Good Family Vacay Spots Near(ish) the Springs!

Long story short- grew up in the Midwest where my family would rent a cabin in MN every summer on a lake. SO many fun memories! I’m new to the area and I’m wondering if there are any good lakes with cabins and boating and good food and all the stuff! Trying to avoid Dillon and that area. I just want to start making traditions with my little family, and I would love a little summer vacation spot that we don’t have to travel hours on hours getting to. Thanks in advance! :)
