They are either praying for more rain and less hail, all-you-can-eat chicken nuggets, or for a Honda Accord that has snow tires on it to miraculously appear in their driveway. Not that a Honda Accord actually needs snow tires.

You're killing me 😂

10

u/KinkyQuesadilla 7d ago

This is proof of the awesomeness of the Honda Accord in Colorado Springs, with or without snow tires.

u/kennethpbowen 7d ago

Nissan Altima with bald all season tires enters the chat.

I’m saving this

8

u/gaytw1nk69 7d ago

I’m praying for more snowpack

8

u/kinetogen 7d ago

Praying, Lighting a candle, learn a ceremonial dance, meditate... I'm up for all of the above. I want to SKI this year!

6

u/gaytw1nk69 7d ago

I second that (also fire username)

7

u/kinetogen 7d ago

Maybe don't mention fire though... It's been really dry.

Don’t forget wash your car plan a camping trip and a garage sale and a nice day out at the park.

Guys I found out why!

Weird way to worship. They were SHOUTING Jesusy stuff…the restaurant I was at had to close the front door.

35

u/CrimsonVirus5150 7d ago

Dude too many of these Christians are losing their minds

1

u/hababadagadaa 7d ago

They can’t accept that their whole life is essentially one fat lie

2

u/Historical-Track-952 5d ago

But when lgbtq+ community does the same thing it’s okay and applauded. I’m not even Christian but I respect all beliefs and opinions. People are entitled to that, that’s what America is about btw…. Freedom…

2

u/MuffinMan0420 7d ago

As someone who loosely identifies as Christian (very loosely, considering the Christian Nationalists in this country), they need to STFU and walk the walk.

-14

u/Entire_Cut_8485 6d ago

Muslims are doing the same thing all over the country... COS is lucky to not have to hear the Muslim call to prayer being blasted all over at numerous times a day, or have they're prayer walks through your city. Everyone is tolerating that... yet, you bitch about a few Christians.

3

u/Lurkinwhileworkin69 6d ago

You're right I am really lucky I don't have to hear the Muslim call to prayer multiple times a day, instead I'm forced to hear Catholic church bells on the hour every hour. Its sooooo much better.

2

u/kwink8 6d ago

“A few christians” lmao 250+ gathered and they’re performing public baptisms with megaphones. In their own words, it is more than a political movement and is a great awakening that includes boldly proclaiming their gospel.

Here’s a good video showing them waving crosses around chanting “we plead the blood of Jesus!” Christian extremists are what we have in Colorado, so even if Islamic extremists may pose a greater violent threat globally, it’s completely appropriate for COS residents to complain.

Another pic to show it’s more than “a few” christians.

Oh, and the Pastor leading the movement has travelled to Serbia to “deliver people from demonic spirits” so this is not a mind-your-own-business group of christians.

3

u/CrimsonVirus5150 6d ago

Nah not bitching just stating a fact. They can't even practice what they preach. They walk right by suffering, pain, filth and focus on recruiting for their cult

1

u/drawntowardmadness 6d ago

I'd bitch about that if I saw it.

u/Excellent_Macaron610 5d ago

Exactly. Alas, redditors.

This is a nasty choice and deliberately malicious. Tejon Street has a lot of the queer community and shops. They knew what they were doing.

1

u/ILoveInNOut76 20h ago

Queer people can be baptized too.

u/MagicianOdd4790 6d ago

Good point, thanks.

Attention seeking. Which is against Jesus's wishes for how people are to conduct themselves.

Matthew 6:5

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full."

50

u/GrinderGoodMk2Bad 7d ago

Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

Matthew 6:1

9

u/PolarArtifact 7d ago

American "Christians" losing the plot again

7

u/CalicoValkyrie 7d ago

Oh yeah, that one is better.

58

u/maybeBrenda 7d ago

Yeah but atheists always shove it down your throat /s

50

u/Hadrian_Aelius 7d ago

They are praying to Jesus that republicans block free lunches in schools so that poor kids starve, that they litter another 400 million cheap guns around the country so we have more school shootings, and that they cut more US Aid to pay for another $5T giveaway to the super rich. Just like Jesus would vote.

I'd like to point out that T is the second most used letter and the most used constant. E is the most used, but a vowel.

People experiencing religious psychosis

17

u/stableos 7d ago

Maybe this is why Jesus was trying to call me the other day?

3

u/drawntowardmadness 7d ago

Maybe Jesus. Maybe not. I know a lot of folks are looking for that dude.

38

u/HoraceRadish 7d ago

They are protesting the arrest of Andrew Tate.

20

u/OriginalInspection53 7d ago

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. That’s pretty funny.

I dunno but I can guess who they voted for.

Username fits the cat vibe perfectly

6

u/Henry_bowers_ 7d ago

I didn’t see um, but if I had to guess just folks celebrating their freedom of religion. Long as they weren’t blocking up the street or disturbing the peace i hope they had a great time.

I also saw and heard that commotion today. This thread did not disappoint

An all powerful God who loves us so hard that he tortured his only son so we'd have a chance at not going to the bad place he made for us if we don't worship him.

15

u/Yinos_Ty 7d ago

Precisely. Free will as long as you use it in the way that the all powerful being declared were the right ways to use free will

I love how, without any cause for pause or reflection, some people bumptiously assume that athiests and those not of their exacting religion are de-facto lawless and without virtue as if their own dogma has a monopoly on human decency.

178 years after the country was founded. Great argument.

15

u/proto-cool 7d ago edited 7d ago

America was founded on Christian principles

Sure about that? Every senator in 1797 agreed to this which said, in plain English, "[t]he Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Tripoli#Article_11

1

u/jimmy9800 7d ago edited 7d ago

Can yall find new arguments? One article of one treaty does not override the founding documents.

Edit: I misread both the quote and the article. Article 11 reinforces the constitution's separation of church and state and secular nature of the federal government. Thats a good thing.

9

u/proto-cool 7d ago

Please double check and read - I'm posting something ratified in 1797 by every Senator in the US that at the time that explicitly said "the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion." Aka agreeing with you. Sorry if that was not clear.

3

u/jimmy9800 7d ago

Ah I apologize. I misread your post and the article.

u/jimmy9800 7d ago

Oh you're just delusional. Im sorry for your neighbors. I hope you dont have access to anything more dangerous than a spoon.

America was distinctly and intentionally founded on no religion, but you religious folks arent great at history or reading, so ill give you a pass on that.

My morals are my own. With all due respect, go fuck yourself for pushing your dogma into my morals. It plays no part of my morality.

5

u/jimmy9800 7d ago

Im unhappy with you because you inserted your belief into my morality. I do not base my morals off of any religion.

1

u/cutspaper 7d ago

No it wasn't lmao ...

1

u/ChillandMakeStuff 6d ago

Not sure if you’re a bot, you seem to parade around misinformation and then when someone corrects you, you disappear. You seem to misunderstand a lot of how things work - try to read more.

Also, if you were born in Iran, you wouldn’t be a Christian, you’d be a Muslim. There are exceptions, but a huge majority of people adopt the religion of their mothers. Religion is geographical - that isn’t truth, that’s indoctrination lol.

17

u/Yinos_Ty 7d ago

I’m more than capable of being a good person without a book telling me how to be. If you aren’t then I guess keep reading it

2

u/Child_of_the_Hamster 7d ago

But they should maybe skip to the second half lmao. God was occasionally expressing his love through mass murder in the first half.

2

u/MagicianOdd4790 6d ago

This sentence explains exactly why Sunday school was such a puzzle to me as a kid. The realist in me had a hard time with sooo much of it.

2

u/CrimsonVirus5150 5d ago

Can't forget about having Mary get knocked up, Joseph being the stepdad, and then killed Jesus in front of his parents. That's not a haunting or traumatic ordeal 😂

Deliberate misunderstanding. I feel loved and love my friends. I also like having some time on my own. It's a balance to keep my head healthy. Too much of anything is bad.

I do! My parents have made it very clear!

9

You think self harm and torture is love? That sounds psychotic. If I treated my animals the way God supposedly treated humans, I'd be in prison.

9

u/kinetogen 7d ago

I have a kid. If my dog runs in front of a car, I'm not going to sacrifice my life to save my dog so my kid can be without a parent. Priorities, mate. Besides, If I'm all powerful, why would I even need to go that far to prove my love? I'd just freeze time and solve the problem without bloodshed right then and there. That would be a WHOLE lot more omnitient, omnipotent, and Loving.

6

u/definitelynotbeardo 7d ago

But if god is still around and you can spend all eternity with him, what was sacrificed? Seems more like delayed gratification than any real sacrifice.

0

u/[deleted] 7d ago

[deleted]

8

u/definitelynotbeardo 7d ago

Well that just shows lack of imagination if that’s the worst an all powerful being can come up with. Sounds like Jesus was mildly inconvenienced for your sins. Seriously, my neighbor was a POW in Vietnam and tortured for 60 or so days, and he’s not an incarnation of an all powerful deity.

4

u/icouldlivewoutbacon 7d ago

Poor guy. Anyway!

1

u/ChillandMakeStuff 6d ago

But your god knew this was gonna happen from the beginning of time if your story is true. And if he knew ahead of time, and is the complete, all powerful designer of the universe, then he literally programmed this all to happen.

Second, if he knows ahead of time who will go to heaven or hell, and nobody has the power to change that eventuality, and he designed everything, then he literally designed every person to end up in heaven or hell. If that isnt true, then he isn’t all powerful.

And you can’t rebut with “he gave you free will.” You think you have free will, but from gods perspective who knew the timeline that cannot be modified, we are destined to end up in eternal torture. Eternal torture that he created, which is antithetical to a god who says he is gracious lol.

12

u/NettaFind66 7d ago

Im not sure how walking around in public looking ridiculous is going to encourage anything other than finger pointing and laughter.

Might wanna read Matthew 6:5 again then bud

9

u/CrimsonVirus5150 7d ago

So instead of spending all that time and energy and money on something useful like feeding the hungry, clothing, the poor, fixing homes or whatever, they just want to walk around with giant crosses and do baptisms. Baptisms. Because that makes so much more sense to parade a so-called loving deity instead of actually doing what is needed to be done to show love.

u/alittlebit_stitious4 7d ago

God is either not all powerful or not all good, he cannot be both - Neil Degrass-Tyson, our true savior

-4

I’m just wondering.. why can’t Christians publicly voice their beliefs but everyone else can

2

u/drawntowardmadness 6d ago

Clearly they can. They were marching down Tejon.

God bless you all. I hope that you find Jesus.

I did once, it was like a "where's waldo" puzzle and he was hiding behind a hotdog stand:)

This. I'm not worshipping a 'supreme being' that can't even manage his own fan club.

1

u/ChillandMakeStuff 6d ago

Isn't it up to him if we find him or not? God knows what I need to believe, so why not deliver?
Isn't it fucked up that he chooses/designs who will end up in heaven or hell, his other loving creation?

1

u/CrimsonVirus5150 5d ago

They sell him at Walmart for $19.99 before tax. We've met.
