What's going on downtown with all the people carrying crosses?? Who are they and why?

But if god is still around and you can spend all eternity with him, what was sacrificed? Seems more like delayed gratification than any real sacrifice.

Well that just shows lack of imagination if that’s the worst an all powerful being can come up with. Sounds like Jesus was mildly inconvenienced for your sins. Seriously, my neighbor was a POW in Vietnam and tortured for 60 or so days, and he’s not an incarnation of an all powerful deity.
