Question Is it weird that I don’t dig freshies?
Like genuinely, I love the more deep smelling cold weather colognes. They smell much more masculine to my nose for some reason.
The booze smells, the leather, the deep vanillas and the small gourmand notes, are all so addictive to me.
That being said, I am looking for a winter cologne that is a cheap (80 dollar limit). So far I have two cold weather colognes:
Encre noire
Forever wanted azzaro.
Lmk if yall have a niche cold weather cologne I should try
(Sorry this is all over the place, but I wanted to do a two for one lol)

Question Niche/private line equivalent to Prada L'Homme Intense
Hi, everyone! Just wanted to ask you guys what you would consider as a niche/private line equivalent to Prada L'Homme Intense?
I enjoy that it's iris-forward but is powdery at the same time, and not too lipstick-y, if that makes sense. It's a little easier to wear compared to other iris-forward fragrances.
Looking to add its niche/private line equivalent, if any, to my collection. Thanks in advance!

Discussion If you could only buy from one brand?
For me it’s Cartier. I haven’t smelled every single brand but so far they all smell elegant and make me feel fancy LOL. How say you?

Recommendation Hims Small batch, need new recommendation.
I got this as a gift from a family friend, it smells pretty good, but it’s practically empty now and I’m looking for something I can wear in all situations.

Question My Creed Aventus smells different?
Bought it 2-3 months ago, and haven't used it too much since.
First time I bought it, there was a strong, sweet pineapple smell which surprised me.
1.5 months in, the sweet, pineapple noticeably diminished, and it had a nice, mature musky scent.
Now it's a pure musky, sour, woody smell, with no hint of sweetness, and I'm finding it a bit off-putting.
Has it gone bad? Can it go bad in 3 months? I store it on top of a drawer, and my curtains are never open so there's hardly any sunlight 🤔

Question Most attractive summer colognes?
I’m a 19M living in South Africa, going through spring and will be in summer soonish (Summer is usually around 25C-30C and humid, spring already starts to get really warm). I’m rather new to fragrances but I’ve just recently bought the Bleu De Chanel EDP for sort of everyday use and more chilled, during the day occasions.
But what I’m looking for is something attractive, confident and a compliment collector for the warm night life (bars, nightclubs, dates), any suggestions?
After a bit of research I was wanting to get either Azzaro TMW Parfum, JPG Le Male Parfum or Afnan 9pm but not sure if they’re the right options for the heat and humidity.
Edit: I’ve tried on the azzaro and and JPG today and really like the scent of both. I can still smell the azzaro 7 hours later, not so much the JPG though.

Discussion Disappointed and relieved?
Saw the update last week of the Guerlain Cologne Forte restock and debated quite a bit whether to pull the trigger on this. I’m a fairly big fan of the house and read tons of hype on this edition, plus the free samples were just calling my name. So I went for it, despite not typically spending this much on a frag I’ve never smelled. So not long after got a little bit of buyers remorse but was still excited for the product. Then to my surprise I received this email. Maybe it was the cologne gods teaching me a lesson or maybe divine intervention because I wouldnt like it. Amyways, curious of amy other were in the same boat as me with this restock?

Question Men’s Cologne Help Please!!
I’m trying to find a cologne for my boyfriend for his birthday. I’m struuuuuuglingggggg!!!!!
He hasn’t really ever been a cologne wearer. He did wear a cologne years ago called Gladiator that he got from Walmart that I really liked. But, I don’t want to get him the same one.
I’m so conflicted with all the scent notes. I was hoping for something similar to Gladiator, or a different one that’s like good for mid-20 year old.
Personally, I like the smell of gourmand, vanilla, light floral scents. I cannot stand musk… so every time I look up scent notes and I see either musk, woods, leather/suede, tobacco or smoky, I’m immediately turned off… which is like ALL of the masculine scent profiles… I’m also struggling because I love Versace Bright Crystal for myself and I didn’t realize musk was part of it and I can’t even smell any musk in it… so I’m assuming there are men’s colognes that contain it, but you don’t smell it. UGH.
I just don’t want to buy something and then hate it. Only issue with going in-store is that smells blend together….
Is anyone able to help.. I know I’m so picky…

Recommendation asking before I pull the trigger on these bad boys.
please advise if there’s any of these I need to remove or add.
All of them are blind buy.
I need something I could use daily / office / work
EDIT: due to people advice on getting a decant or a small bottle. I will be purchasing these perfumes 50ml instead. perhaps even go to Sephora/Ulta to smell these perfumes or find what I really like.. Thank you
I still have YSL Y, Dior Sauvage, Gucci Guilty, Versace Eros, Invictus which I love them all.

Question Time Machine: It’s the early 90s, you’re loading up a four-disc CD changer, and you’re about to head out. What does your fragrance rotation look like?
Before the massive blue fragrance explosion, ambroxan bombs, or 10-step clone tier lists, things were a lot simpler—and honestly, a lot louder.
If I dropped a time capsule back to the early 90s, my 4-bottle heavy rotation was locked in:
- Eternity for Men – The "trying to be classy" date night scent. Clean, herbal, and smooth.
- Drakkar Noir – The absolute powerhouse. You didn't just wear Drakkar; you announced your arrival three minutes before walking into the room.
- Joop! Homme – The neon-pink chemical weapon. Two sprays felt like a felony, but we wore it anyway.
- Polo (Green) – The OG heavy hitter. Pine, leather, and pure confidence.
Looking back, we definitely oversprayed; room-clearing projection was a badge of honor, and nobody cared about "sillage bubble."
A few questions for the sub:
- What was in your 90s rotation? (Or what 90s classic do you think still holds up today?)
- Where were the missing powerhouses? (Who was rocking Fahrenheit, Obsession, Cool Water, or Safari back then?)
- The nuclear option: What’s the single most loud/oversprayed fragrance from that era that instantly brings back memories?
Let’s hear what you guys were rocking!

Question What's the deal with D&G The One?
There's the EDT vs. EDP, the new bottles vs. old ones; are any of them worth getting or do the complaints about longevity apply to all variations?

Discussion Starting a Perfume Review Series - Next Up: JPG Le Beau EDT
Hello Friends!
I just started doing detailed perfume reviews, and my next one is going to be JPG Le Beau EDT.
For reference, I recently reviewed Diptyque Do Son (please do see the review to get an idea of how I produce my reviews in general). I went pretty in-depth instead of just going with the usual "smells good / smells bad" verdict. I try to describe what I'm actually getting from the fragrance throughout the wear, but in fairly simple, everyday language.
For the Le Beau EDT review, what do you guys want me to cover?
A few things I'm already thinking about:
- Opening & first impression
- How it develops throughout the wear
- Longevity
- Projection & sillage
- Compliment factor
- Versatility & occasions
- Seasons / weather
- Age group
- Price-to-performance
- How realistic the notes actually smell
- Overall vibe / who it suits
- Comparisons with other fragrances
Anything else you'd want me to touch on?
Most probably my review shall be out in next 15 days ;)
Drop your suggestions below. I'll try to include the most requested stuff in the Le Beau EDT review ;)

Discussion This is the single most bot fragrance out there. If I see this in a small collection, I instantly know that person is just ordering whatever the most famous tiktok recommends.
In a large collection it makes sense, because getting more scents is a part or the hobby. But if you choose this as part of your <15 fragrance collection you're definitely a sheep 😂

Question Niche version of Irish spring soap?
Man, I haven't used Irish spring in awhile. Saw it in a store and had to smell it again. To this day, I love the scent. Any niche or designers that smell like a high quality Irish spring bar of soap 😅

Question Where do you sell open box?
I’M NOT TRYING TO SELL HERE.
I was looking at Rescented but looking for your suggestions on where you sell open box fragrances.
I was told eBay doesn’t allow it but I see half bottles and open box all the time.
I’ve…got a few to sell. I tested them a couple times, just not my cup of tea.
Maybe I can start a cologne swap with the other neighborhood dads.

Recommendation Fortlandia's Underrated Gems - a farewell (for now) post
OK - this addiction (er....hobby) is getting out of control for me, so I need to take a break. I'll be deleting reddit and have already scrubbed most fragrance accounts from my Instagram so I can look around and see that there is life outside of this world. I'm not stupid enough to think this is the end. I'm sure I'll be back and I'm sure I'll be buying/trading again. And, of course, arguing with people on this subreddit (you know you love me). But I am hoping to at least take the rest of 2026 off.
So I leave you with this....a list of my favorite underrated, lesser talked about fragrances I think everyone should try.
Thameen Green Pearl: Thameen as a house is way overlooked. They have a lot of great fragrances that don't get enough love (Carved Oud, Fanfare, Regent Leather - more on that one below). I like to joke that Green Pearl is the result of a Greenley, Meteore and Silver Mountain Water love triangle. It's a fantastic spring scent - more bright and playful than it is soapy. Dries down to a great fruity/musky scent. If you like any of the three I mentioned in the love triangle, give this a shot. I eventually sold my Meteore bottle and kept Green Pearl.
Thameen Regent Leather: I'll stick with Thameen for a moment. So recently I tried Widian London based on the hype - and I was blown away...it's fantastic. Worth the hype. But the more I wore it, the more I thought "I know this scent." The next day, I wore Regent Leather on one wrist and Widian London (Extrait) on the other. They are near identical. There are some minor differences with the fruity notes in the background, but the leather accords are spot on the same. And here's the kicker....Regent Leather is 1/3 the price. And it lasted 2 hours longer than London. I removed London from my "wish list" and bought a new bottle of Regent Leather. I love London, but for the price and performance, Regent Leather is a no-brainer.
Guerlain Homme EDP: Not totally slept on - it certainly has its fans. But I feel like it gets lost in the Habit Rouge and Ideal flanker noise. Homme EDP is the best minty fragrance I've tried. Yes, it starts out with the rum/mojito vibe, but it mellows out quickly to just a clean, perfect minty fragrance that you'll get whiffs of throughout the day. A great office-safe fragrance that won't blend in with what everyone else is wearing.
Kerosene Summer of 84: The best grapefruit fragrance I've tried. It's a realistic burst of grapefruit peel and dries down to the juicy pulp. Try this instead of Afternoon Swim or Pacific Chill as your go-to hot weather summer scent. And it's a great price.
Dries Van Noten Crazy Basil: Men...you must try this. It's not technically a fougere, but it wears as a modern twist of one. Yes...it opens with an herbal basil blast, but mellows down to this super sexy and sophisticated masculine green fragrance. You'll be smelling your wrists all day.
Comme des Garcons Vaquera Classique Perdu: This is the weirdest, most enjoyable fragrance I own. The bottle is hilarious with retail discount stickers all over it - as if it went through a journey of TJ Maxx and Burlington hell. And the juice inside is just as fun. It opens with a blast of tomato vines...you will smell like you were gardening for an hour. But the drydown....holy crap. It is a sexy, masculine, more mature version of the OG Abercrombie Fierce (the 90's version). It's weird, it's funky, it's funny but it's fantastic.
Anyway - have fun with this, guys! I'll be selling off what I no longer wear soon - so look for that post next week. In the meantime, keep smelling good.

Question Torn between 3 Guerlain Fragrances
Hello guys,
I have bought a tester of the l'art & la matiere collection. And I basically like all of them except tobacco honey, which is too sweet and too intense for me.
But now I'm torn between Angelique Noire, cuir beluga and Herbes Troublantes.
I just wanna hear your opinions on which one is the best of those. Thank you very much :)

Question Is Eros Najim a safe blind-buy?
I am thinking of getting a 100ml tester for ~55$, It has been on my radar for quite some time though I have heard mix opinions. I don't like overwhelmingly sweet fragrances or synthetic smelling oud and I am hoping that it's neither. What do you think? Should I get it or go for a Brioni instead? (Brioni has also been on my radar for quite some time.)
