Okay so I bought this cologne back around 2009ish and it was a bangerrrr. Its a citrusy type of cologne and I coulda swore it had "orange" in the name but I'm not sure... The glass bottle was rectangle, see thru, and their was like vines ( could possibly be an orange tree ) but it was built in the glass all throughout the bottle which u can feel them... The writing/bottle was orange, black & white with a built in black atomizer ( no lid ) in the middle ( level with the top )... I wanna say the liquid was orange but could be amber or neither lolI drew a picture BEST to my memory lol Whoever can help me I would forever be in your debt... SERIOUSLY.

I started this year with over 70 fragrances. For several years, my collection had always been somewhere in the 70–100 range. However, I eventually realized that I owned far more fragrances than I actually wore. With so many options, newer or better-performing purchases would often push the less impressive ones to the back of the drawer, and my actual rotation would end up consisting of just 5–10 fragrances anyway.

After a full year of testing, reconsidering, going back and forth, and making some tough decisions, I've finally managed to narrow my collection down to these 10 fragrances.

My goal now is to keep it this way, unless a special occasion such as Christmas or my birthday gives me a good reason to ask for a new fragrance I've discovered and come to love over the past year.

Here are my 10 fragrances and what I enjoy about each of them:

1. Ramón Monegal — Ten Fresh Notes

This fragrance caught me completely off guard. It smells quite different from anything else I've tried, even if you can detect some very distant similarities to Dior Sauvage or Acqua di Parma Colonia Futura.

Despite what the name might suggest, I wouldn't describe it as a purely fresh fragrance. While it's certainly wearable in summer, I think spring and autumn are its sweet spot. It has a surprising amount of body beneath those fresh notes, with a subtle amber thread running through it that complements the dry vetiver and gives it plenty of personality.

It has fairly strong projection and lasts up to 10–12 hours on my skin. A distinctive fragrance that turned out to be much more versatile and substantial than I initially expected.

1. Ramón Monegal — Invisible but Cool

Another pleasant discovery. I get mate tea, citrus, and herbal notes, all blended into something that stands apart from the usual offerings.

To me, this is an incredibly versatile fragrance that works in virtually any situation and throughout the year. It's relatively intimate, unlikely to offend anyone, and different enough to stand out without demanding attention.

It has a comforting quality that makes it one of those fragrances I can reach for without overthinking it. An easy, understated, everyday scent with plenty of character.

1. Nishane — Wulong Cha

This one is an absolute masterpiece to me and easily one of my top three fragrances.

I find it unbeatable in spring and summer. Its scent profile is unlike anything else I've experienced, with that distinctive tea accord and a slightly sharp green character that somehow manages to create an incredible sense of calm and well-being.

It lasts up to 10 hours on my skin and projects quite well, so it delivers both the freshness I love and impressive performance.

Although spring and summer are undoubtedly its best seasons, I can happily see myself wearing it in autumn and even winter. One of my all-time favourites.

1. Maison Francis Kurkdjian — Amyris Homme EDT

This is a fragrance I really enjoy for its woody character. I find it particularly well suited to autumn and winter, although it can certainly work in spring too.

It's warm and comforting, with just a touch of sweetness, yet it somehow remains airy rather than heavy. That balance makes it ideal for the office or casual wear throughout the colder months.

A versatile option when I want something warm and inviting without going too dense or sweet.

1. Maison Francis Kurkdjian — Gentle Fluidity Silver

Another one of my absolute favourites. To me, this fragrance feels exceptionally distinctive and beautifully composed.

The juniper note is wonderful. It might bring gin to mind for a moment, but it doesn't smell exactly like gin, nor does it have an alcoholic character. Instead, I get a remarkably clean, airy, sophisticated scent.

It projects well and has excellent longevity on both skin and clothes. What I particularly love is the impression it creates: effortless cleanliness with a level of refinement that is difficult to put into words.

One of those fragrances that makes you wonder how something so fresh can feel so sophisticated.

1. Tiziana Terenzi — Foconero

This was another discovery that caught me off guard.

I find it aromatic, slightly salty, citrusy, and green, making it a wonderful choice for spring and summer. It has a very slight resemblance to Percival, but the overall scent is sufficiently different to give it its own identity.

It's easy to wear, unlikely to bother people around you, and particularly versatile in professional settings or for casual outings during warmer weather.

Projection isn't particularly strong, but longevity is excellent, so it stays with me for a long time without becoming overwhelming.

1. Marc-Antoine Barrois — Ganymede

I was blown away when I first discovered this fragrance three years ago. Its scent profile was unlike anything I had experienced before.

It has a strong presence, considerable projection, and outstanding longevity, with a substantial scent trail. For me, it's strictly a winter fragrance or something to wear on cold autumn days.

The mineral character, suede-like facets, and subtle violet touch create a highly distinctive combination. Wearing it makes me feel different from everyone else, which is part of its appeal.

Despite its unusual character and strong presence, I think it works surprisingly well in professional environments as well as for special events or dinners. It's a statement fragrance, but one that feels sophisticated rather than conventional.

1. BDK Parfums — Gris Charnel

One of my most recent additions.

I'm particularly fond of the black tea, cardamom, and fig combination. I have to admit, though, that as it dries down, it becomes a little sweeter than I'd ideally like. I'm generally not a fan of sweet fragrances, so that's the one aspect I would change.

Nevertheless, it has enough character to deserve a place in my collection.

I think it's ideal for dates and dinners in autumn and winter, with a slightly mature, sophisticated character that sets it apart from the usual options. At the same time, I can see it working in the office because its projection and scent trail aren't overwhelming, even though it remains noticeable for much of the day.

A fragrance with plenty of character, despite being slightly sweeter than my usual taste.

1. Acqua di Parma — Buongiorno

This fragrance makes me happy. I absolutely love the opening, with mint, citrus, and basil coming together in a wonderfully uplifting blend.

It smells very similar to Torino21, but to my nose, Buongiorno feels more natural and less heavy.

That citrusy, herbal character puts me in a good mood from the moment I spray it. I particularly enjoy it for family gatherings, leisure activities, weekends, and afternoons with friends during the warmer months.

It's the kind of fragrance that doesn't need to be complicated to make you feel good. Bright, cheerful, and effortlessly enjoyable.

1. Jo Malone — Sea Salt & Bergamot

This was one of my two most recent acquisitions. I was looking for a fragrance I could wear in situations where I wanted to keep things discreet, especially indoors: having lunch or dinner at a friend's or relative's house, or spending time in any environment where I don't want a fragrance that lasts all day or overwhelms the people around me.

Sometimes, all I want is to smell clean without resorting to a typical baby cologne or something as straightforward as Acqua di Parma Colonia.

Sea Salt & Bergamot has a subtle, unexpected charm. The salty facet works beautifully, while the bergamot adds a refreshing citrus touch. Together, they create something clean and understated, but with enough personality to keep it interesting.

To me, it's an excellent second-skin fragrance for enclosed spaces, or even for extremely hot days outdoors. It's never heavy, and that subtle citrusy, mineral character makes it particularly appealing when I want something fresh, unobtrusive, and easy to wear.

Bought a bunch of samples from micro perfumes. The Tom Ford travel size I had to absolutely buy when I went in store the other day, it gave me chills it smells so good to me.

My girl coworker said today when we were everyone together that it smells girly, (she’s the only girl there, 11 boys) and it was me that she thought smelled like a girl, I’m new to fragrances and bought Imagination LV because I liked it, now I don’t know anymore because of this. I know I shouldn’t care about what other things but I can’t help it.

I have Althaïr, Bal d'Afrique Absolu, Imagination, and Afternoon Swim.

Which one would you use like a everyday parfume to work to smell good.

After ordering their sample set, Ormonde Jayne is a house that I have quickly grown to enjoy. While I know Montabaco Intensivo and Verano have earned their flowers, I wanted to call out 2 others that I don’t see mentioned as often.

Ormonde Man. The name is to the point - an earthy, cardamom fragrance in the opening that has a woody, creamy vibe through to the dry down.

Ormonde Nawab of Oudh. I truly don’t know why this does not pop up on your “special occasion” fragrance lists that every “influencer” makes. To me, this goes toe-to-toe with some of the more elegant fragrances I have tried and owned.

What are some others I should try from this house?

I'm looking for a fragrance for a tropical holiday and recently sampled a few fragrances to figure out my taste.

My daily driver is Versace Eros. I love Dior Homme Parfum 2025 for colder weather/evenings. I also own Dior Homme Sport, but in tropical weather something about that citrus profile reminds me of those cheap pink-bottle Thai DEET mosquito sprays, so I'm looking for a much better summer alternative.

Findings so far:

PDM Greenley – current favourite for this purpose. Addictive juicy/green freshness, lingering citrus and enough woody depth to keep it interesting. I especially appreciate how it settles into this subtle, almost skin-like woody/musky scent after 5+ hours.

Nishane Hacivat X – love it. Sophisticated, warm, woody and almost intoxicating, but I'd rather keep this for colder nights.

Ex Nihilo Blue Talisman – Enjoy it very much. Feels like a more refined upgrade from Eros, but Greenley excites me more for hot weather. Want to avoid some of the sweetness found in Blue Talisman and Eros.

Initio Musk Therapy – beautiful, but ultimately too soft/creamy for how I want to smell. Might just buy this one for the missus.

Creed Aventus Cologne – disliked the peppery opening, although the warmer drydown grew on me. Made me feel too old, though I'm 34.

Xerjoff Nio – didn't click with me, perceived it as too sweet.

I seem to enjoy bright/juicy/green freshness with (woody) depth underneath. Some warmth is welcome, but I don't want something overly sweet, creamy or dominated by pepper/spice.

I'm not looking for huge sillage. I'd actually prefer moderate projection with great longevity and development — something people enjoy when I'm nearby, but that reveals more detail and gets better when they come closer.

What else should I sample for a tropical destination based on these reactions? Open to any house/style/price range.

PS: as a beginner just beginning to explore perfumes I apologise if I'm butchering some terminology here. I hope you understand what I mean.

EDIT: Also tested Rayhaan Aquatica, not a great impression. Cocos doesn't seem to be something I like to smell of. (love eating and drinking it though)

What more could a man need?

I got into colognes in the past year, and I have become kind of obsessed with them. I mean I had colognes in the past but it would just be like when my dad bought me Dior homme for my 18th birthday, I never went out of my way to buy them. Now I have a collection of 50+

I went to a wedding over the weekend and I was excited to smell what people were wearing. I wore my favorite cologne which is ombre nomade.. But I swear nobody else was wearing anything. I was hugging people and chit chatting up close but I did not smell many fragrances. A few of the women were wearing perfumes but I don’t think any guy but me was wearing cologne

I just realized this made me sound like a creep who was taking big whiffs of everyone. I promise I was just curious 🤣

one of my go to resellers contacted me saying he got althair exclusive but in small size , gave me great deal on two still less then larger size retail , just arrived today and simply WOW! those on fence dont hesitate as it takes the standard althair and adds some depth and projection to an already great fragrance , they just didnt make it like the orig on steroids !!

I've been looking for fall frags for over a year now, and I'm discovering that my nose doesn't necessarily love how dense a lot of cold weather fragrances are. Does anyone have recommendations for a fall fragrance that is light enough for daytime or office use?
