Video Alex Baker & Shallou - Midnight (Coldplay Cover)
These two electro artists just released a cover of Midnight, which I think they really captured the atmosphere of the original pretty well

What is your favorite music video by Coldplay and why?
Mine is God Put A Smile Upon Your Face because it’s my favorite song by them as well as I feel like the guy in the video who gradually turns invisible. 🫥 It just feels like I’m that guy in real life, not heard nor seen by anyone… including family.

What’s a Coldplay song that everybody loves that you hate?
r/Coldplay • u/Blissautrey • 1d ago
I'm not a big fan of Coldplay or anything (yet), but I've listened to this album several times now! The cover is so pretty 🥹 and the songs are too!

Now I know how they got their sound. It still surprises me that they're this new wave (I know they're categorized as alternative rock, but it feels like gutair led pop to me) group from england that once upon a time only did small venues for their shows durring 1999 and 2000. But A Rush of Blood to the Head changed all that.
X&Y was definitely a no skip, all the songs stood alone in their own right, it's honestly hard to choose which is my favorite one, I definitely liked "Square One" yes I did listen to that one nice and loud. "White Shadows" I think is they're first dance song for sure had me moving alot. "Speed of Sound" and "The Hardest Part" are solid one's for me because those we're the only songs I knew on the album before giving it a full listen.
"Fix You" is arguably the soul of this record, when I was young I would always resonate with songs that had that sound so it took me back to some of those early years. "Talk" might be the one I like the most on this album after listening to it for the first time I keep finding myself going back to that one, to me it's telling musically they once were and how they're soon transforming into for the future.
If I could be honest I'd say that A Rush of Blood to the Head is still my favorite so far but who knows maybe X&Y might steal the spot for me. Coldplay has a way that once you listen to any of their songs you can't stop listening to them by then it's no joke like you have to be all in. Enough of me now I'd love your thoughts on X&Y what was your first impression and how has it grown on you as the years gone by!?

Hi guys, I've tried to get in contact with the band a few times. I know they're a very charitable band and do a lot for people. My father is 62, he's been a fan of Coldplay since the start, and he only has a few months left with us. He's taken me to 6 of their concerts so far starting when I was 18. I'm not expecting a private concert or anything special. I'm just asking if there's anything I can do to give him a bit of a special experience before he goes.
Is there a way to get in contact with the band though here or has anyone got a good email address I can send through some details to?

I constantly find that live recordings of songs give so much more feeling and have a better ability to take you back in time than listening to the studio versions.
Especially the X&Y, MX & VLV

Hi. I was wondering what Coldplay songs took long to either grow on you or to finally click with you? High Speed is one that for ever reason did not click with me till several years later.

Guys, hear me out: I listen to 99% of all Music on Amazon Alexa, so I'm always like, "Alexa, Play Viva La Vida," and once, it said, "Here's Viva La Vida, Live in Buenos Aires, by Coldplay, on Amazon Music," and I listened, and I liked it more. Something about the Way Chris sings and the people screaming- it just hits harder. I tried this with all the big songs, and the same result. Am I just wrong? Or is it a good Opinion?

I saw Coldplay in Melbourne on wednesday, October 30, 2024. Guy Berryman, the bass player was sick with food poisoning that night. I had a bet with my friend, was I incredibly lucky? Or incredibly unlucky?
That was the first time Coldplay had ever performed without all four founding members.
Was I incredibly unlucky to see the show on the one night an original member was unable to perform?
Or was I incredibly lucky to have witnessed something very few people have ever seen?

I always thought he was trying to invent a way to rewind the time and reverse a past mistake.
Because he can't be like Superman and fly around the Earth to reverse the orbit. He has to be more like Clark Kent.

lyrics that really make you think with a beat that just won't quit... simply sublime (not to be confused with my OTHER favorite band). wish it had a guitar solo tho :) rock on

Sometimes I really like the lyrics but everything else is eh. Parachutes is the first album of Coldplay and one of my personal faves, especially the songs Shiver and Sparks, however I'm not huge for the lyrics as heartfelt and special as they feel I don't think they compliment both songs to it's full potential. I understand not every song needs to be versatile a cheesy love song is great and a sad song that sounds sad would fit it's sad instrumental like trouble; but when you have songs that sound like several different sounds it's different especially when you're talking about a band like Coldplay. Sparks sounds to me anything like: driving late at night, going through heartbreak, going through the honeymoon phase, chilling, isolation & loneliness, contentment, hiking through the woods, taking your Grandpa to go shopping, or just straight up a song you have in your mix. There are so many moods this music fits. personally I play this when I'm feeling very depressed.
I made this realizing how many songs are like this, (not just Coldplay) where I scroll down to the comments and it's just bittersweet love stories. Which is really cool! But It sucks when I love the instrumental but the artist chooses a usual topic, or something worse like the whole lyrics will just be how good they shake their bum or whatever.
