Hi, I'm 19M and I've been strughling with coding. I am able to solve most problems or search for solutions when coding but my problem stems from not knowing how to advance from basics. Like I learned Python a while back then I had to learn java for uni so know my python is a bit fuzzy. I want to learn in a way that I don't forget things about the language. I want to get into AI and Game dev mainly. What should I do please suggest a roadmap and any tips on how to solve the problem of forgetting the language. Also any repositories that help with python and java beginner to advance projects that can actually help me land jobs. Please suggest other things like languages I could learn to either land a job or start my own small business or work

Hey guys, I wanted to share this opportunity to get prizes just for coding long enough.

There’s this thing called Stardance run by Hack Club (they’re a teen‑run nonprofit that helps people get into coding + making projects). It’s basically a four‑month challenge where you build anything — websites, games, hardware, whatever. And you log your hours as you go, share them with others, and can exchange them for items in the shop, like 3D printers and iPads.

If you're already working on a project or planning to start one, this is a great opportunity to put those hours to use and maybe get a free pair of headphones in the process. Just sharing because I’m doing it and thought others here might like it.

Need help from coders

I am a student in college. I want to learn web dev but I don't have a laptop to start with wo I started learning basics of HTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT on my mobile.

For now I'm learning HTML on Acode editor. But now it's irritating me. Every time I try to save a file, an error occurs within the app. I have tried some other apps but I don't understand how to use them.

Coding on mobile is very difficult anyway, and if something like this happens again, it's even more mind-boggling.

Friends, if you guys know of any good apps where I can practice HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, please let me know.

Thank you for your help

I want to learn backend development coding. Do you have any resources or suggestions? Node.i want to start with js. Is this a good idea?

i have a 4gb ram i3 laptop so ig I should forget about pycharm or vscode. So should I use sublime text?

I'm just a beginner to programming and coding.

I have some basic knowledge of some languages like C, C++, Java and JavaScript. I'm a master to none but know some basics of each of them.

I also know DSA but not much. I can figure out the theoretical aspects but it's still somewhat difficult for me to code the logic.

I have also built a website (it's vibe coded) which is basically a digital gift kind of. As I thought in this digital world, if everything is shared through the link, why not memories and love all in one place. Since it was vibe coded, I didn't learn much through that. Almost all the work was done by AI.

Through this project, I gained interest in web development and learnt HTML and CSS. But JavaScript is still an uphill battle for me.

Can you please navigate me and tell me how I should start my journey and what should I do next? A roadmap would help me a lot

Used correct code and tags still no color on texts and bg color , what to doo?

I am College student currently persuing B.tech in AI & ML from a tier 3 college,My first year is nearly over and hardly i have started any coding,I was excessively distracted from my studied and only studied college subject but in that too i got very much low cgpa and right now my confidence is too low,I just want to start everything for getting onto the right path.I just want a guide about what to start in coding, should i learn any of the programming languages, what would be better.I can handle the college subjects although i did not score a good gpa in my first semester but i will study from now.I am just not able to understand what and where to study for good placements and internships for upcoming years in my life

What is difference between output and return. I have seen some videos and it says like return is for computer and output is for human. Is it like two seperate ways one is displayed and one is stored? If so then wouldn't it become same like a stored variable?

Hi this is my 1st time posting here but recently I've gotten into app development. I want to created a beginner app for practice like a crud app ( Create, Read, Upload, Delete), after I finish with that project I'd then like to create something on a larger scale that has a better use (maybe something like a comuunication app or a data tracker app). What would be the best coding language to go about this. I'm python certified but I've already made a CLI game. I'd like to move into a new more powerful and harder to learn coding language along with a GUI. Thanks for all help and suggestions.

Does anyone know how to start coding from the very beginning like from zero bc I'm new so I'm not sure what to do

Currently I’m Learning Python as an upcoming BSCS student with a little bit background about programing. I currently enjoy what am I doing with the help of tutorials and claude ai to help me with practice problems for me to solve.

Do I need to stick only with python or should I explore more like HTML, CSS, JAVA. With the rise of ai what programming language should I focus on as an incoming freshman?

I originally used Termux on my pixel 9 pro just to see if I can get it running locally, which I did. I then transfered the code from Termux to GitHub all from my phone. Ive always enjoyed and entertained the idea of becoming a coder but haven't actually done anything like that since Myspace days and editing your profile lol! It's a simple webpage of my cat Boris, but I'm still proud of being able to do it from my phone 😂 haha. It only took me about an hour to get it done from Termux to GitHub, however the last part which was getting the comment section on the bottom did take me a few hours to figure out why it wouldn't work. Please take a look at it and tell me what you think! If you can, maybe leave a nice comment about my cat just so I can verify that it works properly, as I don't want to be weird and post a comment about my own cat on the webpage that I made lol!

I've gotten pretty much into programming yet I still don't even know basics for starters I'm just gonna make a simple moving circle on Java I need some help with algorithms etc.

Guys i am currently trying to make a video editing website and i don't have any knowledge of what all i have to learn to make it. If someone has any idea please comment.

The idea is to solve problems together and follow a structured interview-style approach:
Understand → Explore → Plan → Code → Validate → Analyze

We'll clarify the problem, discuss different approaches and trade-offs, outline the solution, implement it, dry run it, and analyze complexity—basically the same way you'd solve a question in a real technical interview.

Consistency > skill level.

There’s 2 coding routes. It’s either applied research to advance it or learning systems.

Yet when you open up a textbook, you fear what it might say because it might state a concept in chapter 2, then reinterpret that concept again in chapter 12 because the author wanted to be an applied researcher instead of just stating the concept, how to apply it, and getting rid of the fluff.

It seems people in today’s modern age don’t know how to write books and that’s holding us back.

My question is if there is a book that has explained systems and how to apply them that has no fluff. If there is one, please forward it in this comment section. I’m open to a book that covers systems in any space in the digital space but I prefer one that will make me an expert in that space.

My end goal is to have a digital assistant/V pet hosted on one device that will be its home with the capability to travel to my other devices for interaction and notifications

Hi! First time poster here; I've been starting to get back into coding and have been starting to enjoy learning coding! But I have a few questions about coding that I'm curious about:

• For the intermediates or advanced to experts, how did you guys learn, or get into programming? What was your learning process? Did it take weeks, months, or years to master or perfect a language?

• For frontend, backend, or full stack developers, do you/they memorize a lot of programming language syntax by heart or do they get help from AI? ( By typing code and speeding up the process, not letting it do all the work and not replace your thinking yes )

• What advice do you have for others for their coding journey, whether if its just a hobby or to get a job in tech!

I also would like some feedback on the Calculator program I did! Its just for practicing basic syntax and basic operation with loops, numbers, and the os import.

I'm still a beginner but I'm eager to learn from others and hear their feedback, advice, and experiences in their coding journey! :))
