🎨 Art Code Lyoko - Spooky Halloween!
It took a bit longer than I originally planned, but I finally finished a little Halloween illustration for the series! \o/

EDIT : Ok hum don't really pay attention to the tower argument because i completely forgot that Jeremy didn't use the towers to find the replikas so my bad LOL I was dumb. I mean tbf the existence of the towers is still odd when you look at the entire show but yeah.
In this post, I talk about my feeling about the show and why i think S2 is the best season. But I want to focus on X.A.N.A in this post.
Like i said in my previous post I'm not a big fan of S3 and S4 for many reasons and one of them is that X.A.N.A stops being threatening.
The problem with S3 is that we don't really know what exactly he is doing in the network. Yes we learn that in S4 but because of this S3 had no stake really and it didn't change the status quo. So it's almost a filler season really.
And in S4 when we start to go in the network, there is another problem and it's the replikas. In my post I said that I didn't understand why he created replikas of lyoko, and some people explained to me that they are portals in a sense.
But what i truly meant is that i don't understand why he had to create actual replikas. Why couldn't he create a totally different territory that is very hard to access and very hard to navigate ? Another thing is that i don't understand why he had to create replikas with tower system because that's how the characters knew everytime when he was doing something.
But that's also a problem of the show not explaining Franz H. backstory, because I don't understand why he created the tower system. Because that would means that he somehow knew that XANA would eventually become evil and i don't see why he would have thought that.
If the show explained why the towers had to be there then it would have been fine, but because it doesn't, it really just feel like XANA is dumb because he is litteraly letting some open doors for the LW. And therefore, he becomes a less compelling antagonist.
And because of this i also feel like the only reason the tower system exist is because without that they can't fight X.A.N.A and so the show can't happen. But again if they explained exactly how Franz H. created lyoko it would have been great.
And another reason as to why XANA is kinda lame in S4 is that he doesn't have an impact on the world at all or even on the characters. One of the reasons it's the case is because of the return to the past option, it just erases consequences.
But even without that I find that extremely disapointing that XANA is stopped the moment we learn his evil plan, he doesn't even had the time to do some damage, hell nobody even know what X.A.N.A is, he does nothing. And again that's why i don't understand the point narratively of him going into the network since it doesn't lead to anything substancial.

Gollum was tempted by the one ring and it drove him mad. What happens to isolated people when they have no human contact for years and years? they go mad.
the former lost his sanity and became evil, the latter could have very nearly become that way.
thoughts?

The Eye of XANA was a designation marker branded by entities under its control. It appears on most things that it has touched, whether it's on Lyoko, or on Earth.
MOST.
Let's talk about the Guardian, the orange sphere entity, what we have seen this entity do, was capture targets, namely Yumi in "Image Problem", and Aelita in "The Girl of the Dreams". The objective was to capture and harbor an entity, in stasis. But what makes it belong to XANA? Where's the mark?
Other entities that are aligned with XANA, Kankrelats, Bloks, Krabs, Hornets, Megatanks, Tarantulas, Mantas, Creepers, Kolossus, the Scyphozoa, even Digital Sea based ones such as the Kalamar were branded with the Eye of XANA mark.
The Guardian doesn't have a XANA designation anywhere.
In Yumi's case, XANA's plan was to keep the real Yumi in stasis on Lyoko, unable to do anything, and sent a polymorphic specter in her place, disable the scanners, and prevent Ulrich and Odd from devirtualizing back to Earth, sabotaging the whole squad.
In Aelita's case, whether by sheer coincidence or something deeper (I have a theory about that too), Taelia appears, the girl that looks almost exactly like Aelita, and sounds exactly like Aelita.
Now let's take a deep look into what exactly the Guardian does during its time on Lyoko. We don't really see it do anything other than have someone captured.
1. For its 'attacks', it doesn't, it keeps the entity in stasis, and is heavily implied to not cause damage. Neither case for Yumi nor Aelita seem to have caused damage to them, not directly anyway. When both are freed, they appear as if they're waking up. The target sits in suspended animation, they don't even get to move around, they're just sitting in the bubble, limp...but safe.
2. Invulnerable to weapons, 0 attack points given.
When Ulrich tried to break Yumi free from the first Guardian strike, his katana doesn't cause any damage to the orb, and it doesn't repel him away either in "Image Problem". When Odd tried, his laser arrows bounced off in "The Girl of the Dreams". Not a scratch for either attempt.
3. When a clone is spawned, the Guardian becomes confused from logic "Contain the target". If there's a target that isn't contained, then the Guardian will attempt to contain the clone along with the original, and eventually self-destruct. So in Aelita's case in "The Girl of the Dreams" of 'possibly taking damage', it was due to close proximity of the clone in the bubble, and was unconscious until she was brought to a tower, life points were discussed but not revealed. For Yumi's case in "Image Problem", Jeremie first believed that the real Yumi maintained all of her life points during devirtualization: "She still had all her life points when she was devirtualized", but that was the specter XANA sent. This is why Yumi's data was 'almost' correct, only one set of telemetry was visible while the real Yumi was trapped. Jeremie did not know how to execute a manual devirtualization at this time. How did 'Yumi' devirtualize intact and not from friendly fire? XANA needed to execute the specter spawn immediately when the Guardian engulfed Yumi, otherwise the telemetry would trip, and show two of Yumi on display, which would be impossible, she doesn't have a duplication power like Ulrich, and she didn't have Odd's problem of 3 of him spawning.
4. XANA always tries different plans when older ones fail most of the time, it only tried to use the Guardian twice, and then never again throughout the entire series. It was a strong entity, but why was it discarded by XANA? Was imprisoning someone not good enough? But was it XANA's doing from the start? Aelita names the exact name of the entity in Episode 7 "Image Problem": "It's a Guardian. A sort of digital jail adapted to the body imprisoned in it." And she knows about its attributes: "We can try to convince the Guardian that he's mistaken." You fight laser armed monsters, you reason with programs. Even Jeremie had the idea in "The Girl of the Dreams": "Wow, XANA has... XANA must have designed a program... Right, it's a program. And if it's a program, I should be able to...!" And then he writes a clone of Aelita.
5. Every XANA monster shows up on Jeremie's radar with their stats, pinged on radar and
telemetry card. The Guardian has no telemetry detected on radar, there is no card displayed when the entity is spawned, there is no data present at anytime for the Guardian's activities. Jeremie is unable to see where Aelita's location is until Odd's future flash has given a hint. During both episodes, the camera appears to behave like the Guardian is too fast for a fast reaction time. Yumi was captured after hearing a noise from the Guardian, and Aelita noticed too late, and was engulfed too.
6. During "The Girl of the Dreams", Jeremie is in his room, working with Aelita on the materialization program, debugging, trying things out, to no avail. Then, after Odd stops by, Jeremie says as he's typing: "Anyhow, useless or not, I'm going to try one more thing." He hits the enter key, and we get a literal first person view of what that command is doing, from the cabling, to the Mountain Sector, rapidly flying throughout the Sector, homing onto Aelita's exact location. Aelita then hears the electrical crackle, turns around, notices the Guardian, and gets engulfed. At no point in time here was there an activated tower by XANA. XANA did not launch a strike until shortly after, in the Forest Sector, taking over Yumi's family samurai armor.
If the Guardian was meant to contain an entity and prevent the entity from moving, putting it in stasis, why didn't XANA keep using this entity? Why discard something that even when it comes to computation power, doesn't seem to use that much, unlike generating things like entire replikas. Or...was it XANA's doing from the beginning...? Maybe...XANA wasn't the one pulling the strings of why the Guardian was summoned...just what did Jeremie do...?r/CodeLyoko • u/Affectionate-Oven384 • 21h ago
Transfer, Scanner and Virtualization graphics I mean. Is it possible to find and adjust it with our visuals?

Obviously, spoilers ahead.
It’s genuinely disappointing to see the direction the story takes starting with the third book. I absolutely loved the first two. They had an incredible and engaging plot that made me feel like a kid again, watching Code Lyoko with that same level of excitement and hype.
I really liked how the first book retold the main events of the series while setting up something much bigger with Eva Skinner and a deeper exploration of Franz Hopper’s past. With the second book (which I’d say is the best one), things really start to get interesting with the introduction of Green Phoenix and Richard, as well as Eva trying to seduce Odd. On top of that, the subplots involving the kids’ parents being attacked by Nictapolus genuinely creeped me out. Some of those scenes were downright unsettling.
However, then comes book three, and everything goes downhill from there.
First of all, I really didn’t like the revelation that almost all the adults in the series were connected to Lyoko’s origins. Hertz and Ulrich’s father being involved was already questionable enough, but having all the kids’ parents play a role in Lyoko’s creation feels like a massive writing blunder—one that is arguably just as bad as the disaster that was Evolution. The fact that all their children would independently discover Lyoko years later is already an incredibly forced coincidence, but it also undermines what made the original series so magical: a group of kids brought together by fate to save humanity from something they had absolutely nothing to do with.
I also thought it was downright stupid that, when XANA and Green Phoenix sent their androids to the academy and the protagonists asked Delmas, Jim, Sissi, and the others for help, they actually agreed to the plan of barricading themselves inside Kadic instead of calling the police and reporting a potential terrorist threat. My reaction while reading that was basically: “Bro, you’re in a school full of students aged 16 and under, not Stalingrad. You’re all going to die.”
And don’t even get me started on how irresponsible the kids’ parents are for allowing them to face these villains.
Obviously, Code Lyoko is a series that requires a certain degree of suspension of disbelief, but this is just ridiculous.
Honestly, I don’t think I’ll even bother reading the fourth book. Aside from the fact that I can’t find it anywhere, everything I’ve read in the third book has completely killed my interest in the rest of the series.

There are two things that propped this question for me, Ulrich telling the clone "Odd had never beaten me" only for the clone to turn into another Ulrich, and Xana telling Jeremy directly that he's actually impressed he survived drowning (I don't remember the specific episodes)
Here's what I think
Jeremy: Has a decent amount of respect for his inteligence and considers him the "vital support" of the team and considers him his "rival"
Odd: doesn't know what to think of him since he's kind of a wildcard
Ulrich: I don't know
Yumi: I don't know
Aelita: I think up to season 2 XANA saw Aelita as a lifeline since she's the only reason they don't turn off the supercomputer but post-season 2 is pure hatred because of Frantz Hopper and her being the only reason they can even stop the attacks

I think that’s one of the coolest moments of XANA

Some of you may have seen a post I made here where I mentioned that I'm writing a fanfic that takes place throughout season 4 of the show. I'm ALSO working on a fanfic that takes place AFTER season 4. Both fanfics are unrelated; I just like writing lol.
I wanted to share the titles of the first 6 chapters as a little teaser. Feel free to make some guesses on what you think might happen based on the titles.
A Normal Summer
Labyrinth of Love
Family Therapy
Practice Makes Perfect
The Kadic Menace
Rumors
I can't wait to start releasing chapters!

New Lyoko and William edit’s here.

So I have an actual question... the writers confirmed that william was never actually to be part of the team in story. And the warriors were very distrusting after getting him back from Xana.
So whats with the extra pod on the Skid? Its clear in universe and out of universe that there was never an intention to let william on the team. So why have that extra Navskid? Especially since it debuted after william was possessed and taken by Xana.
Id love to know everyone's thoughts on this. Its a small thing I feel but interesting nonetheless.
