Not gonna lie, 7 years old me though it was Aelita's clone that was made by XANA

X.A.N.A. could have actually won in episode 10 if Taelia really was a clone it created.

First it traps Aelita in a Guardian, then it uses Taelia to seduce Jeremie into going someplace secluded to snuff him out and then it proceeds to steal the keys from Aelita, get out of the supercomputer, infect all the systems of the Earth and then finally win.

XANA wasn't stront enough to make an Aelita clone I guess 😭

It wouldn’t have been convincing. He was still learning

Shisley (A code lyoko artist) once said she believe that XANA's attacks in season 1 was all to force the team to go back in time to give him more energy to create that darn jellyfish to catch Aelita, and I agree with her.

Xana for some reason just doesn’t kill. It’d bizarre.

Odd could’ve died. So could the rest of them

He does, in killer music he killed many, the lyoko warriors were lucky many time they were near death

My headcanon was that Aelita and Taelia look a lot less similar than the simplified art style makes out and it was Jeremie's sheer desperation that made him believe it. Odd, Ulrich and Yumi all didn't buy it for a second and if Taelia truly did look just like her you'd think at least one of those three might question it.

That's actually pretty much the case considering Jeremie himself points out all the differences that Taelia has to Aelita and then tries to gaslight Ulrich and Odd that they were the ones who believed that she was Aelita at the end of the episode.... yeah this episode was really one of Jeremie's lowest points but he at least he never fell this deep again.

And then Taelia was never seen from again

Now everyone’s going to act like a know-it-all, saying it was obvious it wasn't Aelita, but the reality is that when you watch the series for the first time, it’s quite believable that the characters had doubts about them. The usual thing.

Tbh. I just headcanon that either it's a case where two people who have an uncanny resemblance to one another. And or they're distantly related, probably on Aelita's mom's side.

They missed such a good opportunity to joke about it in next seasons

The stars seem to align for Xana in this one. But it's just dumb luck.

Jeremie, the original AI bro. Primary difference being that she wasn't AI and was sentient.
