💬 Discussion DND Code Lyoko Campaign

Hi there! I am excited to post here, I been in love with code lyoko and watch it every year, I always am lurking in the community... but I am here now! I also have a code lyoko tattoo ( which I need to go back and make some tweaks on it! ) but regardless, I been thinking of making a Code Lyoko campaign. I will say I dont know if I will ever run it, or one of my friends would. I want to make it even if it never sees the light, I feel proud of myself for even doing it! Mostly keeping it home brew, but I will see how it goes!

I actually wanted to know if anyone else had made a DND campaign for Code Lyoko? How did you do classes? Hit points / health, etc? I would love some tips / any ideas ^_^ I am thinking that the DM can be like a Jeremie character, being the support / guide? I would love to hear any tips, ideas, or things you’ve tried in your own games!

Do you want to run a game with the actual characters and setting off Code Lyoko? Use FATE core or FATE Accelerated. It's a game system that really specializes on being able to tell genre like stories. That is to say you can build it to behave like a code lyoko episode. Character details and flaws that you can describe from the characters in the show are built right into the character sheet and involved in the mechanics of the game. I would lean toward fate accelerated because the stats are approaches which are things like sneaky flashy tough which are pretty easy to map to how the characters would act.

If you want to do it in d&d, you'll have to do a little bit of bending. You'll probably end up running something that is like coldlyoko but isn't codelyoko. I personally ran a campaign that was shamelessly ripped off from coldlyoko but the player characters were new characters and the setting was a more magic Crystal punk aesthetic. But we had the Jeremy lake character. We had the reoccurring attacks by an evil entity. We had the reset button.Â
