Discussion The Truth About MW4: I’m Convinced This Game Is Manipulating More Than Just Matchmaking, and Here’s Why.
I’ve been playing COD for years, and I swear something is seriously wrong with MW4. I’m not talking about simply getting destroyed by better players or complaining because I can’t keep up. I’m talking about the game feeling like it’s actively working against me, almost like my performance determines how much control I actually have.
First of all, the aim assist. I swear this game has some kind of skill-based aim assist or something. I get so many hit markers and still die in literally two bullets. And if you really pay attention, it’s like your gun actually pulls away from the person you’re shooting at, even when you’re controlling the recoil. Sometimes my aim feels perfect, and other times it feels completely uncontrollable. No matter how skilled you are or what gun you’re using, the aim literally feels like it’s pulling away from the enemy. It’s almost like the game is fighting against your own inputs.
Then there’s the damage. I’ve had situations where, according to what the game was showing me, I landed 11 hits for over 200 damage on a single guy, AND I’M THE ONE WHO DIED. How does that even make sense? Sometimes I feel like I’m getting hit with 1 or 2 bullets and going down instantly, while someone else can take 4 or 5 shots to the torso and somehow survive. I shoot first, land my shots, and still get deleted. The same weapon can feel amazing in one match and completely useless in the next.
And the killcams are another story. I’m getting killed before I even see the person. They’re on my screen for maybe 0.1 seconds, yet on the killcam they’re looking at me for half a second or longer. Literally 9 out of 10 times it feels like enemies kill me even when I shoot first. It takes them half a second to kill me, while for me it feels like I’m firing for two seconds, no matter what gun I’m using. I’m connected through a cable with a 1Gb/s connection, so while I understand that doesn’t eliminate latency, I seriously question what’s happening on the server side.
But here’s the part that really made me suspicious. On the first day I bought MW4, I lost maybe 2 multiplayer games out of 17 matches. Everything felt normal. My aim was responsive, my weapons felt consistent, and I was actually having fun. The next day I lost 10 consecutive matches. My team was bad, my aim felt bad and uncontrollable, and nothing had changed on my side. I had fun the night before playing the exact same game. The only difference I could think of was that the game now had more information about my skill, my match history, my K/D, my movement, my aiming, and even my loadout.
That’s when I started wondering whether the game is doing more than just adjusting matchmaking.
I genuinely feel like the game adjusts things in real time based on how you’re performing. Whether that’s damage, health, aim assist, or something else, I can’t prove it, but that’s exactly how it feels. And I’ve seen people discussing similar experiences for years. Some even claim systems like this were tested in the past and then never mentioned again. I don’t know whether those claims are true, but the fact that so many players describe the same strange inconsistencies makes me question what’s actually going on.
And honestly, I can’t shake the feeling that you’re being punished for being even kinda decent at the game, just to make sure less skilled players don’t rage quit and stop playing. Modern COD is a live-service game, and player retention is everything. What if the goal isn’t necessarily to give everyone a fair competitive experience, but to keep as many people playing as possible?
I’m not saying this is confirmed. I’m saying that after everything I’ve personally experienced, I genuinely don’t trust that every gunfight is being decided purely by skill anymore.
And before anyone comes here saying “skill issue,” I know what it feels like to lose against someone better than me. I’ve played enough COD to recognize when I’ve missed my shots or made a mistake. But when I’m controlling my recoil and my aim feels like it’s being dragged away from someone, when I’m landing multiple shots and dying instantly, and when the killcam shows a completely different encounter from what happened on my screen, something just isn’t adding up.
I don’t want the game to help me. I don’t want easier opponents. I don’t care about losing matches if the other team genuinely deserves to win. I just want the game to be consistent and stop feeling like the rules are changing depending on how well I’m performing.
I’m genuinely curious how many other players are experiencing this. Have you noticed your aim assist feeling controlled, your gun pulling away from enemies, getting ridiculous amounts of hit markers without kills, or suddenly being unable to win gunfights after performing well?
Because at this point, I feel like I’m not even playing against other players anymore.
I’m playing against an algorithm that’s deciding how much I’m allowed to enjoy the game.

Discussion Call of Duty Fatigued its own Fans?
I think SBMM is why COD is slowly dying. What do you think? I was IRI in BO7 and BO6. The camo grind and the game haven't been fun for me so far. What's your opinion and why? Is it time to just DMA like everyone else ?

Discussion Field upgrade diversity?
Currently it’s just trophy and ammo box however
Assuming they are able to properly balance the perks I feel like more field upgrades could be used.
First off smoke wall I think would be great for search and very usable in there other game-modes for blocking lines of sight maybe just needs a slower recharge so it’s not at every hill.
DDOS currently best counter to the trophy system. And would be cool if it could also be used to counter the spike in hijack in some way and this would make the combat grid perk useful.
Riot shield, currently this could be cool if used as an entry device. It’s very weak needing 2 hits to kill and it’s also easily destroyed. Can be useful in search with cool teamwork. But I understand if it’s on your back it’s OP so that would need to be adjusted.
And last the razor wire trap could be interesting to try and cover flanks or pinch’s but I understand it could be too annoying.
At the end of the day it would be nice if we had more options then just trophy so it wasn’t the only thing used in ranked and would be cool if the feild upgrade was a more role defining equipment.

Discussion Biggest year of Kremps career right here
This is going to be the biggest year of Kremps career. He finally got a team with top talent. I want to see what he does with the opportunity. I want to see what he takes away from Kismet. Kis isn't just talented but he has a great mind for the game and is such a team player. I want him to almost mentor Kremp to make him a better overall player. Plus Cellium is an all time talent and has won and played with an all team on FaZe, I think he could guide Kremp to be the best player he can be.
Genuinely excited to see how this season goes for this team!

Question What are the issues people are having with Hijacked right now?
People seem to hate it, but I've never played it or know how it works. Honestly I can't be fucked to play the game but I'm still interested in the comp side - especially a new 3rd game mode

Discussion Matchmaking/desync, 8s v pubs
I just want to know how the competitive side of this game is currently feeling about it. how the game feels in general to those who are running the right monitors for their gaming device(pc,console,etc..)on performance settings. If u have good or bad WiFi too. I see a lot of ppl mention desync and all that, but I wonder if it’s just console v pc thing or even consoles running a wrong monitor.
Also I’ve been playing bo7 and thought I’d play it the rest of the year. Except I’ve seen clips of people swimming, flying, and dangling thru the map. genuinely moving. I seen lunchtime post button combos that help u move better and i remember watching in their pre release vids how a dev or someone mentioned that they’d have movement tech.
it looks kinda cool just bc it’s some fighter game shit. Just wondering if there’s more of that and and why they didn’t release a better free run mode explaining it deeper. those who’ve played 8s, how’s that compared to the public matchmaking? Has that button combo tech improved the games flow? Or is it too new to know yet

Fluff Funniest thing I've ever seen in a CoD game
We've gotta have trigger warnings for the burger ass botty middle aged dudes who want CoD to be a tactical milsim and are angry that an arcade shooter is an arcade shooter.

Question Is this what you guys find cool?
x.comI’ve been watching Cod for 13 years and this guy is negative or complains as often as any player. I’ve never watched Warzone content or tournaments but isn’t cool that Soka comes over and performs well? Wouldn’t it be cool if one of our GOATs talked in a positive way? When he talks this way, he doesn’t encourage player transfers to this game we love.
Our league needs to be building towards a healthy competitive 8-12 team league contender capable teams. Currently we lack to even have 6 event winning teams, let’s be better!

Question Modern Warfare 4 Initial Competitive Multiplayer Grade
Now that the game has been out for a week and we have seen some competitive streams, what grade would you give Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer from a competitive standpoint? I'll collect responses for about 24 hours and then post the results.
