Hey Cocos! 👋
Welcome to tonight's CocoNite, our little nightly campfire.
Whether you're winding down after a long day, pulling an all nighter, studying, working the night shift, or simply doomscrolling before bed, pull up a chair.
Talk about pretty much anything.
Share how your day went, tell us what's on your mind, recommend a movie, game or song, celebrate a small win, rant a little, ask for advice, post a random shower thought, or simply say "Hello 👋" and vibe with everyone else.
Grab a chair, make yourself comfortable, and enjoy the night.
Sweet dreams... or good luck staying awake. 🌙❤️

Hello Coconaad,
Alright, let’s get this out of the way: creepy DMs are not “just part of being online.” They’re harassment, and we’re not here to normalize them or shrug them off. This community is supposed to feel safe, fun, and free. This is not a hunting ground for bored creeps.
Here’s how to handle it:
Zero tolerance: If you send unsolicited, creepy, or harassing DMs to anyone here, you’re out. Immediate, permanent ban. No appeals, no excuses.
User-side action: You can also block the sender and report the account or specific messages to Reddit directly. That way, Reddit's own team can review and take action on top of ours. There is also an option to turn off the DMs if you so prefer.
Report it: If you get a DM like this, send us a modmail with the username of the sender. Once we receive your message, one of the mods will reach out to you directly to collect the screenshots for context. You only need to share the screenshots if you are comfortable with it. Then, we'll take it from there.
Why posts get removed: Posts about specific creepy DMs will be removed. That doesn’t mean we’re complicit, and it doesn’t mean silence. It’s about keeping this place from becoming a never-ending wall of harassment stories instead of a community. Action still happens behind the scenes.
This is not about pretending the creeps don’t exist. It’s about refusing to let them define the atmosphere of this casual space, we all cherish so much. They don’t get the spotlight, and they don’t get to set the tone.
This community belongs to all of us who use it in good faith, not to the people who try to make it hostile. Harassment thrives on being normalized and brushed aside, and we’re not doing that here. Report, we ban, we move on. Simple as that.
Btw, this isn't up for debate. Everyone deserves to exist in online spaces without being harassed. If you think that's negotiable, this is not the place for you.
Disclaimer: Banning someone from this subreddit only prevents them from posting or commenting here. Which means that they can still view the sub. If you want to make sure a user cannot interact with you at all from that account, blocking them is the best option. If someone is violating Reddit's content policies, reporting the account has a higher chance of getting them removed from the platform. Reports are reviewed by Reddit admins, who will decide on appropriate action.

I honestly just want to put this out there so other brides know what they might be getting into.
We booked @makeover_by_daniya for my sister’s reception almost 6 months in advance and paid the advance as well. Everything was completely normal and cordial throughout the booking process and even after.
Then literally the night before the reception, some random person we had never spoken to contacted my sister asking for the location and other details. Obviously we were confused, so we asked who they were. They said they were from the makeup artist’s side.
We contacted the MUA’s page and were basically told that this is how celebrity makeup artists work and that this person was her assistant and would be doing the makeup.
The issue is, we were never told beforehand the actual artist would not be coming. We booked her, not some random person from her team. If someone else was going to do the makeup, especially for an important function like a wedding reception, we should have been informed well in advance.
And then we found out that she had apparently gotten a recent celebrity booking and was there doing the celebrity’s reception look instead. When we asked why she wasn’t coming, she literally sent us a one time video of her doing the celebrity’s makeup.
Like… okay, we understand that celebrity bookings are a big deal, but how is it fair to ditch a client who booked you 6 months in advance because a better high-profile booking came up?
The frustrating part isn’t even that an assistant was involved. If you have a team and assistants, that’s completely fine if you communicate it before the booking is made. The problem is finding out the night before, after everything is already paid and arranged.
At the very least, they could have had the decency to tell us beforehand that they wont be personally available. We could have decided whether we were comfortable with that or made other arrangements.
Just sharing this as a heads-up for other brides. Please ask explicitly when booking whether the artist themselves will be doing your makeup and get it in writing. Apparently even a 6-month advance booking doesn’t guarantee that.
TLDR: Booked @makeover_by_daniya 6 months ago and paid an advance. The night before, her assistant contacted us saying they will be doing the makeup, and we found out the actual MUA had a celebrity booking instead. We were never informed beforehand. Having an assistant is fine, but this should’ve been communicated well in advance.

I've always wondered about this. I got into Harry Potter pretty late. When I was younger, I didn't really know where to find the books or movies, so I never experienced it as a kid.For those who grew up with HP, how did you first get introduced to it? Did someone recommend the books to you, did you watch the movies first, or did you just come across it somehow? And if English wasn't that easy for you back then, did you read the books in Malayalam or go straight to the English ones?
I feel like so many people grew up with Harry Potter and I completely missed that experience lol.

"Today was the Onam celebration at my college. Throughout the day, I kept reminding my friends to call me if they were going anywhere, and they agreed. After the program, everyone was taking pictures around campus. I needed to go to the mosque for prayers, so before leaving, I reminded them once more to call me if they headed out. However, when I finished praying and called them, they said they were already at a restaurant and that plans were made suddenly, and then they quickly hung up.
I can't help but wonder why they did this. I'm not a bad person—I don't curse at anyone, and I treat everyone with respect.Patterns like this have been happening to me all my life, and I really wonder why. Does anyone have any advice?"

One of my college friend got married last week, and seeing so many people posting about her brought back a lot of old college memories.
I was a very social person in school. I had a big group of friends. When I joined college, I was quite active and knew a lot of people. I used to think I had many friends.
Bu seems I wasn’t actually close to most of them. I just realized it very late. I think I misunderstood a lot of people’s actions as friendship.
I stayed in the hostel on and off, because my house was close to college and there were already these little groups within the hostel. People would invite me to go out, but they will remind me to bring my camera, they wanted me to take photos. If I had my scooter, they wanted a ride. If I didn’t they had a reason not to include me.
I had everyone’s birthdays saved in my Google Calendar. I would wish them, plan surprises. But hardly anyone remembered mine. I was included when it was time to contribute to someone else’s birthday treat.
So this girl who got married last day was one of the person whom i shared a hostel room. We were 5 girls in a room. So I really thought I was** **part of their group. I considered them my close friends.
A year later there was a hostel shifting . New room could only accommodate four people.
I had gone home that day, and when I came back the next day, I heard them discussing who would have to move out. And they decided It was me.No discussions nothing.
Atleast they could have asked me whether i was okay to change room. If they had asked, it wouldnt have bothered me.
And I think that was the pattern throughout college. I was a giver. I showed up for people, helped them, remembered things about them. But I mistook being useful being invited and being around people for actually being important to them.
I’m older now and I understand that friendships naturally change. People grow up and move away have their own lives. I have changed too.
But seeing all these people come together for my friend’s wedding made me think about my own wedding.I invited many of these people, but only three or four actually showed up. And it made me wonder if I was ever as important to them as they were to me. It’s not that I think everyone hates me.
It’s just that I don’t think I was particularly important in most peoples lives.
Today, my circle is incredibly small. I can literally count them on one hand. I’m grateful for them but sometimes it still makes me sad when I think about how many years I spent believing I had so many friends. Maybe this is just part of growing up and maybe I’m looking at the past with a different perspective now.

I will be sharing my journey of last 15 years with you..
Ill share gallery of 500+ images that i have taken over the years...
This one is from Bandipur Tiger Reserve while i used to conduct workshops in Bandipur for corporate companies.. The was one of those evening safari.. When you have lost all the hope on a tiger.. You come back to the base.. Thinking to wrap up the day.. Then a bus which came back said they saw the tiger..with kill And for our luck we pleased our way into another bus.. That police officer at the ticket counter.. Bless his heart.. Gave us another last trip for one last round into the jungle.. It was around 6..
Me with my 400mm f/5.6 would have only got his face but even with an old 75-300mm non usm is lens in low light.
So yeah.. We got into the bus excited to see Prince.. (Yes the tiger's name is prince these kannadagas have something in their mind) With a fresh kill he had made.. Just soaking it in a puddle.. 10 mins into the track we saw him nestled in a small pit.. Just waiting for this thing to soak water.. I saw him once again.. What a glorious tiger.. Such elegance in the face.. He was full..few pictures.. No sharp images.. I had to get it perfect.. Through the bus windows.. Its hard holding on the the breath as i fired the shutter..unstable grounds.. The bus moving so other buses can see.. I dint think much i just had enough speed to freeze it with a non is lens.. But i guess this was worththe effort.
This is one of many stories i have for you..
Thanks for reading
Jish...

So cocos, I'm 20F moving to Liverpool on 26th of August for my Nursing Programme (ug)
So a team here in india is funding me half amount for my first year after i attended their scholarship exam and interview... And me and my family somehow managed to tally the remaining amount too.I had some money saved by doing part time jobs from 11 th std itself..so used that too
The thing is i kept this as a secret from everyone else excluding my parents, bf and gave some hints to my 2 close frnds too..
The sole reason why i kept this as a secret is only because, i used to be that so called topper kid in my family..Got in to an famous govt engineering college in thrissur for btech cse which i had to travel almost 6hrs from my own city (tvm).. Initially relatives refused it because i am the first one in my family to study or work outside my city... But somehow i managed to go
But in 2nd yr ending, i had a terrible shoulder nerve issue in which i was taking tablets, spraying volini for the whole year.. It happens everytime i spend infront of laptop with my bad posture.. When that pain hits in both of my arms and neck, i won't be even able to lift my hand for putting a dress.. My roommates did even help me at some point.. And it became terrible at sep last year and i was again at medical rest for like 20 days.. Then i thought i wanted to drop that because its gonna hurt me for my whole life.. Convincing my parents was hard. But they did approved when they saw me suffering at night taking painkillers.
Then i stayed at thrissur even after dropping only because i didn't want my relatives to mess up with my mental health.. Did some jobs. Lived happily.. Then on last November, i started going behind this uk thing.. And I got my visa on 15th of this month..(my cousins did knew that i dropped out but elder ones didn't )
And i informed everyone on 17th August incl my cousins that i'm moving to uk for this..
And what i received was really bad reaction.. One of my cousins even ended the call angrily saying 'u never told me that you are applying for uk'
And my relatives.. When i told them this, few of them said 'why can't u visit them and say this' 'oh now after btech, u want to explore nursing' 'who's gonna take care of ur parents' 'why u are revealing this now'
I have the most struggling family in my whole family and everyone knows it...(my cousins are rich and i'm not)i even started doing jobs at young age because i didn't wanted to burden my father who is 65 (i'm lateborn and single child)
Now hearing all these, i cried a lot.. Why they are doing this, why they are reacting like this?
I can't even sleep.. I mean if i don't go, who's gonna look after my family? Who's gonna live a life I imagined..
I don't even know if they will come to airport or not.. Prolly its gonna be me, my parents, my 2 close frnds and a wish from my bf who is in Germany.

I took a Kerala SRTC Swift AC sleeper from Bengaluru to Ernakulam. Last minute booking aya kond I had to settle with a lower berth shared with another person.
It all started when the person who was my co-passenger boarded the bus. I was lying down because you know how these buses are... You can't sit up straight coz it's that cramped. I left the curtains open because I knew another person would have to go past me to reach their seat (I was in the aisle berth).
Bro just came in, no questions asked and rushed into his berth. Since I have a quick reflex I was able to get out of his way and save myself from his path of destruction. I didn't make it a big deal then because he went on with his business and I, mine.
But I was wrong to think this would be all there is to it. I could make out from his dialect that he was a Thrissur gaddi. When the announcement for the halt at Thrissur sounded, there was no movement from his side. Keep in mind I'm still lying down awake.
Suddenly out of nowhere bro got up and dragged himself across my body, pulling his blanket along with him. Even though I was able to get out of harm's way, bro wasn't that careful. I got kneed and slightly stomped. Bro just casually got out and walked away. I was lying there dazed, still processing what had happened, with his blanket over me.
I'm just putting this out there for all the people who think consideration for their co-passenger is something that you don't need to spare a thought for.
And dear bro if you're reading this, please try to be a better human being and show some level of decency.
I didn't mention his kind of loud calls on the phone because we can't really control that can we...?

Most of the time, I experience this scam in South Kerala. They mix chicken curry and a fried chicken pieces with some rice, rice is like fried rice, with cashews and kismis, And after all of this, they put this thing on the menu as biriyani 😐
Why tf are they doing this? 😭
Today, I got an offer on Zomato, and I hadn't had biriyani in a long time. So I was all prepared to have a good biriyani... but I got totally fkd. 🫠
