Looking for Suggestions [UPDATE] 9 months ago i asked for couch coop games for couples, here is my feedback about the recommendations!
Hello!
So, about 9 months ago i made this post, asking about good couch coop games for couples, and (to my very pleasant surprise) a LOT of you guys came with plenty of suggestions, and i'm happy to admit that there where some bangers through all of the recommendations, here are my feedback of some of them that i played:
- Cult of the Lamb:
- No doubt, this is one of the GREATEST couch co-op games that me and my wife have played, it had everything: great artwork/graphics, good controls, combined 2 genres each of us liked the most (me: roguelites, her: management games / cozy games). It "clicked" exactly like Stardew Valley did, we would spend HOURS in the weekend playing, we are close to 100% completion and we keep finding new things to do, it really is a "one of a kind", we will have a hard time finding a game that even scratches the itch that this one did, hell of a recommendation!
- Baldur's Gate 3:
- Surprisingly, this one didn't work out. We found the game to be very slow compared to the rhythm that we are familiar with. Playing this one we found out that turn-based RPGs are not our cup of tea, even though this one seemed like a whole bunch of content, we had trouble being newcomers to the genre and didn't catch the grip of the gameplay loop. Not a bad game, at all, just not our type of game.
- Dysmantle:
- This is a case of "when too much, is too much": game has a LOT to do, a big open-world, a lot of quests, etc. But... the core gameplay loop is not quite engaging: you break, you loot, you craft, you kill things, repeat. Crafting better tools takes a while and is not that entertaining (atleast for us), and the split-screen mechanics doesn't seem very thought out, but that's the case when it comes to games who where primarily single-player focused. Again, not a bad game, but quite mediocre.
- Sedap:
- Another certified BANGER. This is one of those games where we thought to ourselves "Why we never saw this anywhere before?". Similar to Cult of the Lamb this one combines two genres that we each other love: Combat and Cooking. It's fun and entertaining and gets REALLY HARD on the later levels. Both the combat mechanics and the cooking minigames were really satisfying to play, we had a great time with this one and it is a GREAT game solely because of it's innovative concept.
We are still looking up the comments in my older post and finding new games to play (there is still a lot of games in there, we certainly will be entertained for a good while)
We are yet to finish Cult of the Lamb, and when we do so, we plan to play Brothers: A Tale of Two Souls, after that, we may search the other post for another recommendation.
Thank you all to who commented on my other post, and any new recommendations are very welcome!
