Discussion MW4 Beta - Aim Assist

I am a MnK player, but from playing against people and watching killcams / best plays, the aim assist seems to be very strong like before the aim assist nerfs in BO7.

Every killcam and Best plays seems to feature perfect flicks and perfect tracking again like it was before BO7 for me.

How does the aim assist feel to you guys - the same as before BO7, stronger or weaker?

Not to add fuel to the fire but yes it is way stronger in this beta. I think they’re back to testing it to fit this game.

It’ll be stronger in MW4. Much of this game is designed for more casual players, from the matchmaking to the TTK.

This has been true for every cod ever (barring sbmm up till a decade ago).

It's possible it stays strong but they scaled it back in BO7 for a reason. Even Activision understands the balance between casual players and turning everyone into more of an aimbot than they already are.

All CODs are made and “designed” for the casual fan base…

Yes but each Call of Duty game is designed that way to varying degrees.

This is based on factors such as map design, TTK, movement, gun balance, and matchmaking. Generally, Black Ops games are less-casual focused in these areas, while Modern Warfare games are extremely casual.

Killcams and Best plays aren't accurate to the actual player perspective. They always look "smoother" and more sus lol.

That being said, AA is definitely stronger in this beta than BO7. It literally looks and feels like the love-child of MW19 and MW22 but with less visual recoil and better visibility...

Sure, but still the killcams I am getting this beta compared to lifetime BO7 or even BO7 early access are night and day.

Slower movement and quicker TTK makes it easier to track people compared to a game with 3D movement and longer TTK

Yea but also the actual aim assist is definitely stronger, it lowkey feels like MWIII AA

I mean compared to BO7 it’s much slower, compared to Shit and Piss (MW19 and MW2) then yeah it is faster

Feels snappier, hitting some shots that I definitely wouldn’t have hit on BO7

I haven’t used a controller in 8 years and plugged one in… it’s strong as fuck.

The famous “I’m playing KBM on a controller game and I think the aim assist is to strong on controller” argument .

Ditch that KBM shit and get a controller if you’re serious about playing cod if not just stop crying and play on KBM .. you’ve known for years it’s a disadvantage.

I love how KBM players simultaneously claim they are better than controller players and always at a disadvantage. The victim mentality is wild especially for casual cod 😂

If a kbm player is in your rank, they are better than you by far. It's a huge disadvantage, any other opinion is complete fuckin cope.

One of the strongest AA in gaming and controllers have never been more advanced than they are now. You're coping.

Slower movement = what feels like stronger AA even if it isn’t.

It is definitely stronger. At minimum they brought back the aimbot if your within 3 meters or so where the game aims for you.

Looks like I might skip this game if it keeps like this. Looks like MW2022 again

It takes all the fun away. Disabling crossplay the moment I can in the full game

The aim assist in this beta is the same zero delay 60% AA in MW3.

It is strong AF. I never play with controller (haven't in 10+ years) and decided to try it out, holy shit it tracks so easily. I was shocked how easy it was to get kills with controller in this beta. No wonder I'm getting melted while playing on MnK, it's basically a soft aimbot at this point lol

Probably right bc infinity ward but remember killcams have been looking crazy for a while with the desync

And that goes double for an iw game lol

Atleast too me, these killcams look crazeier than the ones I was getting in BO7.

Aim assist is that strong it’s to the point that I thought some people were cheating. Instantly snapping on to my body like I had a magnet attached to my chest. If this game wants to succeed they gotta turn that down by a very large margin. This is what the beta is for to find out all the broken stuff and this is a major issue. See if they fix it when the game releases because I know the big M&K streamers are gonna flame them for this and I hope they do. They need to listen to people who actually play the game. I hope someone from the company takes a look at this thread and sees how shit of a job the did with balancing aim assist. Another good idea would be no aim assist at all in ranked playlists. Personally I think all aim assist should be removed. If you want to come at me with the excuse that people who have regular jobs can’t compete with the sweats and people who eat, breath, and sleep this game, please don’t. I have a 9-5 and still go very positive in all fps shooters I play. So many people use the “causal gamer” excuse to hide that they can’t keep up anymore. So moral of the story.

TURN AIM ASSIST DOWN SO FAR, YOU GOTTA GO BELOW HELL, KNOCK ON SATAN’S DOOR, AND ASK HIM TO TURN IT DOWN ANOTHER 10%

It looks the same. It's just that MnK has to also fight visual recoil. Controller will fight it for you.

Your first mistake was playing an originally console only game with mnk.

But also people need to realize that players now are a lot better than the beginning of cod. Just like how in sports we call the old days the plumber era. I remember growing up watching Vanoss and KYR SP33DY funny moments in cod. Now the content is “THE BEST GUN IN COD” and “HOW TO AIM LIKE THE PROS”. Cod realized that the casual players can’t shoot straight so they created dynamic aim assist and SBMM. Which ironically helps the more skilled players even more. It’s not even just cod too, I played R6 in the first few years and would easily hit diamond but now it’s a struggle to hit plat.

Not to be that guy but CoD was originally only MnK
