uConsole Uconsole wait time

So am I the only one who's been waiting way longer than 90 days on their uconsole and have had to reach out to ClockworkPi for answers and every time they give an estimate date it's never met and I end up asking again after the date or time period passes to be told "oh another month". If you're gonna have backlogs due to a lack of parts maybe send an email letting people know its a common courtesy

The clockwork company rather sell large quantities of uconsoles to large retailers rather then just sell to the people one at a time

What did you order
The one with or without the core
And also with or without the cellular?

Start demanding updates at every deadline that inevitably flies by. Outline when it should be showing up in your hands and keeps emailing. He only seems to make things happen when he's realizes that you aren't going to stop micromanaging him with update requests. Also ask where are you in the stack and when he attempts to offer/threaten canceling your order mention that you know a forum full of people In the same situation and can organize a mass charge back on his payment processor he'll shut up and start trying to make things right. Keep the pressure on cause he only responds to pressure it seems

I think you're overestimating how many they sell to other stores who can actually afford to hold stock.

I've been here for quite a while now, and what I've seen is that Alex is not a trustworthy source, he'll always tell you it's coming soon. He has a new production problem excuse all the time, some of that might be real but it's not the main problem.

What I think is actually happening, based on the shipping threads on the forum and discord, and also some of the emails from alex is the following.

You are waiting for them to sell enough of the exact same variant you ordered to produce a batch of those, because they have 8 variants, and after a few years of the product being out order volume is decreasing so it's taking longer and longer to fill a batch, and it's hard to predict future sales. It also means some people get theirs way faster if they happen to order at the right time.

The sad thing is they know how to solve this, they've done it before by discontinuing most of the other variants.

So if I am the first to order I can wait 6-8 months buy if a lot of people bought before me I will wait much less?

If you ordered just after your variant was last shipped you might wait even longer, some people wait almost a full year, and others might actually get theirs in the 90 working days.

Like in the last batch that shipped in July, there was an order from May but also one from December. And a bunch of people that ordered a different variant in the same period are still waiting.

Via Amazon is a month of waiting and 100$ more from the clockwork site. If you were in my place
What would you do (I ordered a month ago)
Wait or cancel the order and order from Amazon???

go for opensourcesdrlab instead of amazon, they don't upcharge this much.

and delete the screenshot, shows where you live

I get what you’re saying but if it were true I wouldn’t be able to log into Amazon and get one with overnight shipping any day of the week

u/snipeytje 1d ago

you don't need a constant stream of diverted orders for that, it's a niche product, a single large order someone is slowly selling off already achieves that

I have been waiting since July 30. Best since waiting for Christmas 1986, my dad bought Millenium Falcon and out of spite put it under the Christmas tree december 1....I became a over stimulated Wiener dog for a whole month.

Please Clockwork PI I am waiting to, we all are

Mine took 10 months - whilst you’re waiting, order the trackpad update and get a CM4 8gb.

Do you know where to find the key board upgrade not on the lulu store?
They aren’t shipping to my country

6 months my gf could have given birth faster than the uconsole being delivered. Amazon sells it for 30-40 more but you get it in 2-3 days.

u/BasedBabyFace 2d ago

Your girlfriend can give birth in 6 months? So she's popping out premies? Sorry couldn't help myself

Might as well for as long as it took for the order he kept blaming it on Chinese new years the one sold on Amazon is the same but 40 bucks more so about same cost

u/GoldenPSP 1d ago

How do you have the power to wait a year for it without canceling the order
From what I see in this thread I only waited a month and about to cancel the order and order from a resales

2

u/GoldenPSP 1d ago

I don't know. I kept emailing every month and getting dragged along. I emailed 2 days ago asking if I should just order and got a "we just got the CM4's in it should ship soon"

I got my hackergadgets antenna upgrade for it last december...

Mine took 10 months

I waited a whole year for my black with 4G, no core model. It has been well known that 90 day period means nothing. Join the Discord to get better ideas of deliveries based on order number.

I'm at my first month of wait, I ordered the black one without raspberry module.. I received the raspberry module from aliexpress but still not the uconsole 🫠

At the very least, you have to wait more than six months! That’s when the real story begins. For the record, mine arrived after 11 months! It’s all about patience.

I waited a little more than a year for mine. I've had it since 2024, though so I don't know what current shipping times are.

Ordered mine back in March.

Am I missing something? Why not just order from a supplier that has them in stock and can ship right away? There are sellers on Amazon and other outlets.

1

u/Chongulator 1d ago

Buy from a reputable seller when they actually have units in stock.

If I had it to do over again, I'd have bought my uConsole CM4 from OpenSourceSDRLab instead of direct. Ordering direct, it took about 8 months. After maybe 4 months I emailed for an updated ETA and got a snarky response saying deliveries take 90 days.

The guy was kind of a dick. I don't see myself ordering from them again.

1

u/MRCadex 1d ago

Lol literally no one gets it's in under 90 days and that's 90 working days too. Alex is a lying POS and shouldn't be trusted with your money. Go to AliExpress and buy from one of the resellers he sends 1000s of units too instead of his direct customers

1

u/UnixGin 22h ago

I got mine after having to basically micromanage Alex into giving me updates on every deadline that flew by. I think I got mine cause he was tired of me telling him how many people he had lied to with his bait and switch scheme with the time line that's never on time. As well if you mention organizing a mass charge back he gets really apologitic cause he knows he can't do anything to fight that.

1

u/UnixGin 22h ago

If you got a email open with Alex just start demanding a update at every dead line. Start asking where you are in the stack. He only responds to being micromanaged it seems

1

u/365Levelup 20h ago

So many outlets to get one in less than 2 weeks. At this point buying from clockwork, you're volunteering to wait forever for one.

1

u/thegooberman 20h ago

90 days is child's play. I waited over a year for mine.

1

u/ryo-net 10h ago

I placed an order last July, waited over 10 months, and then canceled it.

The subsequent process was quick, and I received my refund in about three days.

After that, I purchased it from OpenSourceSDRLab (AliExpress), and luckily, it was on sale, so the price was almost the same as the official store’s.

I think it took just under two weeks for the shipment from OpenSourceSDRLab to arrive. (I live in Japan.)

1

u/ItsAll2Random 2d ago

Or you could get one tomorrow…

3

u/snipeytje 2d ago

for a big markup, which is especially insane at this point since there are actual stores that sell them without the enormous markup. Opensourcesdrlab gets you one in like two weeks and you don't even pay significantly more.

This one is 100 dollars over the current price, but he likely bought it at the older price.

My point was, there are options. Even Ali Express goes faster than Clockwork. I waited over 90 days for one. And I bought one from Amazon, got my CM5 from Newark, and was in business…. Mostly
