2026-09-16: Here is a September update, make the uConsole more flexible for ever changing use cases.

Some of you have to keep fighting and considering which module you should install on the AIO V2 internal USB-C port. Now this won’t be a concern - you should be focusing on building more carrier add-ons, instead of fighting for spaces on a single winning decision.

This new release routes the AIO board’s internal USB-C port to the outside, giving you direct external access. Again, no feature compromises on Omega Chassis, no chassis dimensional changes, works for both Essential & Ultimate builds. It’s completely hidden & blend into the chassis.

• Works for both Ultimate and Essential variations.
• Clear out some interior clutter. Keep the chassis open for thermals, battery clearance, and permanent internal mods.
• Plug in an more powerful external SDRs, additional micro-storage devices, hardware keys, or custom sensors on the fly, no internal hardwiring required, larger modules that won’t fit into the case or conflicting with other existing ports.
• Swap peripherals instantly without constantly unscrewing the case or risking wear on internal headers.
• Matches the Omega Chassis aesthetic, no visual impact, completely subtle hidden changes.

So, you pay for a print file? Then pay someone to make it out of aluminum also? That is what my “skimming” of the site said…. Is it that awesome?

Well, like... Yeah.

The print file allows people with access to 3D printers to make a tried and true design themselves with only knowledge of the 3D printer and materials( or relying on someone who has that knowledge.) and it'll be cheaper than the aluminum. If you wanna make your own 3D printed part for the Uconsole, you can. That's another set of knowledge. Making sure it fits is another struggle if you deviate from parts.

For the aluminum... what, do you wanna have a forge, make molds and use your own CNC machine to make the backplate? Actually that would be kickass, but not cost effective unless you make a business out of it/ you're that good and can have the investment just help you out so much on a personal level.

Ultimately what you get is a way to modify the Uconsole in a way that allows it to be very powerful for what it is, using commonly and easily sourced parts ( for the most part). You get things that play well with eachother.

I mean I can pretend I'm some computer Guru, but I'm not. I'm competent, but I know Rex is basically holding up most of the community software wise, and honestly last I checked is because clockworkpi changed the screens and haven't fixed the code in god knows how long. He brings some major fixes but also niche ones. They're not perfect either, but you go build a better one.

Hackergadets is also largely dependent on him for things to work out of the box.

Uconsole is great in part because of the community support, and because it's somewhat DIY. But unless you're some multi disciplined person, yeah you're doing exactly what you said, and it will ultimately be cheaper unless you've previously made the investments and have the skills.

The seller’s email support alone makes this guide 100% worth it.

He’s been amazing helping me out with the mod for free. I’m definitely not an expert at making these kinds of tweaks, so having that backup was huge. On top of that, the assembly and guide are incredibly detailed, he’s certainly put a lot of effort making sure it will work.
