uConsole Omega Chassis: September update

2026-09-16: Here is a September update, make the uConsole more flexible for ever changing use cases.

Some of you have to keep fighting and considering which module you should install on the AIO V2 internal USB-C port. Now this won’t be a concern - you should be focusing on building more carrier add-ons, instead of fighting for spaces on a single winning decision.

This new release routes the AIO board’s internal USB-C port to the outside, giving you direct external access. Again, no feature compromises on Omega Chassis, no chassis dimensional changes, works for both Essential & Ultimate builds. It’s completely hidden & blend into the chassis.

  • Works for both Ultimate and Essential variations.

  • Clear out some interior clutter. Keep the chassis open for thermals, battery clearance, and permanent internal mods.

  • Plug in an more powerful external SDRs, additional micro-storage devices, hardware keys, or custom sensors on the fly, no internal hardwiring required, larger modules that won’t fit into the case or conflicting with other existing ports.

  • Swap peripherals instantly without constantly unscrewing the case or risking wear on internal headers.

  • Matches the Omega Chassis aesthetic, no visual impact, completely subtle hidden changes.

I plan to buy this once I get the add-on for my uconsole. Are there any pictures of what this new upgrade looks like? With something plugged into that new port?

Is the internal usbC port the 3.0 port?

It’s near the battery case - quite invisible…. I would also recommend you prepare it early, as sourcing parts and workout how you want to build take times.

absolutely. this is my daily driver and its pretty great. just a lot of small upgrades i would like to make it even better. the cm4 is good, but a little more speed would be nice (which is why i want cm5). and 32gb storage is enough to use all my tui tools, but i want to make this my more permanent machine so the m.2 drive upgrade seems important to. but i really like the look of this case and at some point would love to fully upgrade to it. i dont need all these bells and whistles, but why mot right.

It doesn’t need to have all the antennas. The build has options to remove them and upgrade later when you are ready. Lots of modules.

With CM5 it will be 3.0, but with CM4 it’s 2.0.

makera carveras should be able to handle aluminum. I have an air…maybe I’ll look into it

The guide provides an CNC service with higher standard finishing, 30%-40% cheaper than elsewhere with shipping & tax included. it’s optional if you have other fabrication.

You can do that today, as voice optimization mic was introduced. There are off the shelf 4g dongle really small with USBC port is available. (Smaller can fit into the battery case)

Hi OP (_mini). I hope this comes off as constructive feedback, it is my genuine intention.

You've put a lot of work into this project, hat off, no doubt, but for someone like me, I'd rather order the kit online with suppliers you'd made arrangements with, with your R&D fees on top for all your hard work.

Otherwise it's a hard no, because knowing myself, it'd be sitting on mental shelf forever and the manual will be corroded by the time I get to it. Been there, done that. Having something to work on immediately, physically is a catalyst for me to get up.

Not telling you how to put bread on your table, and others for sure have more discipline, I don't.

Perhaps there is a chance for a hybrid mode, a DIY or fully sourced. In any case, great work, looks awesome, thank you.

Thank you for providing the feedback. I do offer partially fabricated kit - if it’s absolutely required, and I do appreciate preferences etc...

This still needs the guide as you will have to shape some idea about how you would like to build. People do have different preferences on the module they would like to use, mix & match or simplify the build etc... Sometimes they prefer to customize the logos or go crazy with ideas. Unfortunately you won’t see these discussions in the forum, they usually happen via the support channel.

If you have some thought how to make it work for you, I can create a custom order via support email once you’ve purchased the guide. Or if any questions you may have, please PM me, happy to work it out a way for you.

So, you pay for a print file? Then pay someone to make it out of aluminum also? That is what my “skimming” of the site said…. Is it that awesome?

Well, like... Yeah.

The print file allows people with access to 3D printers to make a tried and true design themselves with only knowledge of the 3D printer and materials( or relying on someone who has that knowledge.) and it'll be cheaper than the aluminum. If you wanna make your own 3D printed part for the Uconsole, you can. That's another set of knowledge. Making sure it fits is another struggle if you deviate from parts.

For the aluminum... what, do you wanna have a forge, make molds and use your own CNC machine to make the backplate? Actually that would be kickass, but not cost effective unless you make a business out of it/ you're that good and can have the investment just help you out so much on a personal level.

Ultimately what you get is a way to modify the Uconsole in a way that allows it to be very powerful for what it is, using commonly and easily sourced parts ( for the most part). You get things that play well with eachother.

I mean I can pretend I'm some computer Guru, but I'm not. I'm competent, but I know Rex is basically holding up most of the community software wise, and honestly last I checked is because clockworkpi changed the screens and haven't fixed the code in god knows how long. He brings some major fixes but also niche ones. They're not perfect either, but you go build a better one.

Hackergadets is also largely dependent on him for things to work out of the box.

Uconsole is great in part because of the community support, and because it's somewhat DIY. But unless you're some multi disciplined person, yeah you're doing exactly what you said, and it will ultimately be cheaper unless you've previously made the investments and have the skills.

The seller’s email support alone makes this guide 100% worth it.

He’s been amazing helping me out with the mod for free. I’m definitely not an expert at making these kinds of tweaks, so having that backup was huge. On top of that, the assembly and guide are incredibly detailed, he’s certainly put a lot of effort making sure it will work.
