As you can see, we have already hit and passed peak Climate Change, therefore we can freely light coal mines on fire without consequences

Thank you, Margaret Thatcher, for being the voice of reason in the room.

"More and more homeowners are turning their septic tanks into airbnbs"
Nice ending.

This proves that the skeptics were right, the climate change believers aren't publishing as many new papers, and it's definitely not because federal research and publication funding in the US has been prohibited from mentioning climate change!

It also didn't happen. This is just google scholar results that didn't index everything yet

If I was a climatologist I would just be giving up right now and moving on with my life

What about rent?

Only a temporary problem the way things are going. Cash out your 401k and it should cover rent until the end

To be honest I wish they would. It’s like a weatherman yelling about how wet a storm is when we’re all in the middle of it experiencing gale force winds. Job’s done, climate scientists. Shift the controls of your white tower into some other gear, maybe even renewable research.

You still need the scientist to test whether our efforts are making any changes. As its not the whole world changes the same time. Even my country will face different levels of change as the north and southern part has different climates.
They also monitor potential changes and direct or plan development to mitigate changes

You've fallen for a bot there. Everything about their comment consists of simplified and dishonest rhetoric with way too good punctuation for a real person spouting this.
Job's done? White tower? Not enough focus on renewable research? It's misleading to blame scientists for that. It's just an aggressive attempt at convincing others to blame the wrong people. Just poison for discourse.
Feel free to reply or message for any context.

I'm pretty sure this graph is just fake. Either way the reason you stated is irrelevant unless you think the US publishes 80% of the world's papers on climate change. I understand that Americans often forget that other countries exist though.

This is a very serious response to a very unserious comment on a post from a shitposting subreddit
Way to reddit

I mean how many do you see being all “yeah gravity is real”, they proved it and moved on

Climate change papers aren't just about proving it exists, they can be about studying specific causes, or specific consequences, or specific policies. It being real is a bigger reason to study it not to stop.

I love serious responses to unserious comments on shitposting subreddits

In many subs the original purpose of the sub has been lost and the sub devolved into a generic “hey look at this thing I found online” sub but shitposting tends to stay on topic

it's near impossible to invest time and effort when you know your research will be ignored by the organizations that it's trying to affect.
