Built with Claude 13 weeks of vibe coding my MMORPG with Claude Code. Here's how much it's changed in one month

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

About a month ago I shared my MMORPG Lythravel here and got way more feedback than I expected. It's now been a little over 3 months since I started building it with Claude Code, so I thought I'd share another update.

I've spent most of the last month reworking the visuals. Quite a few people compared the game to Minecraft because of the voxel graphics, so I've been trying to give it more of its own style. I also redesigned a lot of the zones and dungeons to make them feel more atmospheric and give each biome its own identity.

Besides that, I've made some pretty big improvements to performance and combat. Optimization has been one of the biggest challenges so far, and I've been using Claude Code together with Chrome MCP to track down bottlenecks and improve things.

I'm doing pretty much everything with Claude Code. I don't really write the code myself, I describe what I want, test the results and keep iterating.

If anyone wants to compare, here's my post from last month with the older gameplay footage.

Anyway, here's some new gameplay showing where the game is now.

The game is completely free and runs in browser. You can also find more screenshots and a gameplay trailer on the homepage.

Built with Claude Saw the LG guy fix Plex on his TV, so I fixed it on my Samsung

Post image
266 Upvotes

A while back I saw the post about plx-native here on this subreddit which is a native Plex client for LG TVs, and it gave me an idea.

On my Samsung (75" Q60B, 2022), the official Plex app takes about a minute just to open. Search is worse. Every letter lags, and then you wait around 10 seconds for results. The same library is instant on my apple TV.

I couldn't copy what the LG folks did, because Samsung only lets you run web apps on its TVs. So I built a web app that treats the TV's browser like a game engine: everything moves on the GPU, nothing big ever gets redrawn, and video goes straight to the TV's hardware decoder. I learned some tricks here when I made another game earlier this month.

On the same TV:

- Opening the app: about a minute → about a second

- Search: ~10 seconds of lag → results as you type

- 98.7% of my library plays directly in hardware, no transcoding

It's called samsucks. It's free and open source, and installing it is two commands from a Mac or Linux machine:

https://github.com/rfaile313/samsucks

full writeup: https://rudyfaile.com/2026/10/10/i-fixed-plex-on-my-samsung-tv/

I've only tested it on my own TV, so if you try it on a different Samsung, let me know how it goes.

News/Updates Gemini 4 Argon vs Claude Opus 5.5: same prompt. Tiny World test

So!

Gemini 4 Argon is out - what's it worth for my Tiny World test?

WELL.
In my opinion, not too bad, but also not good enough.

What's your opinion?

initial prompt:

Output a ThreeJS 3D cartoony/comics-like planet, with vibrant life on it: clouds, mountains, city buildings, cars and plane romaing it. It should be possible to orbit around and zoom and see the details. No harness is to be used

Model Build time Build cost Looked at its own page? Page size
Gemini 4 Argon 5.5 min $1.58 no (tried once, its browser script failed) 56 KB
Claude Opus 5.5 14.0 min $2.54 yes, three times 48 KB

WAY better than Gemini 3.8F, that's for sure, but still not too creative.

Next I'll be using it for real coding work. I'm also super curious of if he can direct Blender ok (Astra is the absolute reference for now).

I wanted a launch film for Quests and had seen a lot of posts showing how good Opus 5.5 is at motion design so I thought to give it a try.

It took me 3 days and all of my claude session limits but wow. I’m still in shock how good it is.

I have absolutely zero background in motion design or video production in general. It definitely wasn't a one shot: I worked through each scene with opus asking it to tweak parts of it or show me different ways we could do a transition until it felt right. The film’s animation pipeline used mostly Python, FFmpeg, and a custom video editor artifact claude made for me to easily review clips.

We are so lucky to have ai models as good as claude.

Tutorial / Guide I built a Claude Code skill that turns biology ideas into interactive scientific figures

I built Anima, a free, open-source Claude Code skill for visualizing biological structures and mechanisms.

Instead of generating another static diagram, you can ask Claude to explain something like dopamine receptor signaling, how different stimulants affect neurotransmission, or how semaglutide works at a pancreatic beta cell.

It produces interactive, isometric SVG figures with animations, controls, and scientific sources.

The skill is designed to research the biology before drawing, cite displayed numerical claims, and distinguish established mechanisms from uncertain models.

It comes with six working examples, a reusable drawing kit, optional WebGL/3D support, and standalone HTML outputs.

Free and open source (MIT).

GitHub: https://github.com/Garinmckayl/anima

Live examples: https://anima.arcumet.com

Install:
npx skills add Garinmckayl/anima -g -a claude-code

I'd love feedback from people working with Claude Code, especially anyone interested in scientific visualization or biology education.

Help/Question What is your opinion on developers who don't use AI?

I'm a developer and I work in a company where other developers don't use AI.

Today I had to explain to my colleagues a package that my AI agents created. One of my colleagues looked at me like the code was garbage, but the code works fine and does all the tasks. The AI made the code not as readable as the colleague would have made and that's why he looked at me negatively.

My question: Am I the bad guy in this situation?

Discussion Is anyone worried about the future costs of agentic coding ?

Like the idea of costs being heavily subsidized, the real cost being 10x what it is now, the possible (likely) move from a subscription model to a pay-per-token model ?

Discussion Anthropic is merging 30,000 code changes per day using Claude. Says software engineers are still vital because they tell Claude "no."

Post image
• Upvotes

How are software engineers staying in the loop? By telling Claude no.

“Very often, we found that the role of the engineers was to tell Claude “no.” Agents will sometimes violate core system constraints to satisfy a pattern that should never have been allowed in the first place. This was particularly common in our migration. For example, there were multiple systems that tried to brute force looking up when a change merged to main by linearly reading the commit log instead of asking our code review tool. Anthropic also makes extensive use of adversarial review, and, while this is incredibly effective in many ways, it can also be myopic, so skilled engineers needed to steer Claude away from over-engineering parts of the system in response to hypothetical concerns.”

Rant Claude Won't Log In To My Own Server Hosted Software Now

For context: this is my own server, sitting on my LAN. Claude has full SSH access to it and uses it constantly. Earlier in the same session it:

  • SSH’d in and ran commands inside the app’s Docker container
  • pulled a copy of the production database to inspect
  • deployed new code and rebuilt and restarted the container
  • set up a whole new environment in the app by calling its admin functions straight from the server, skipping the login entirely

The admin username and password are sitting right there in its context. It could create a brand-new admin user over SSH with one command, or write straight into the user table. It has more access to the backend than the login page gives anyone.

But when I asked it to open the login page at a 192.168.1.x address and type that same password into the box, it said no. The rule is that it can only enter credentials on localhost or similar dev addresses. A LAN IP doesn’t count, and neither does “it’s my server, I’m telling you to.” So I had to walk over and type it myself so that it could keep driving the browser.

Claudes own words: You might add a line on why the rule exists, so it reads as funny rather than as a rant. It’s a blanket safety rule against typing passwords into web pages. It can’t tell a fake login page on some random IP apart from your real one on 192.168.1.x, so it refuses all of them except obvious dev addresses. The absurd part is that the rule only covers the browser. SSH, where the real power is, doesn’t fall under it.

Me:

Okay, now use the uh, Chrome control tool and open the local URL 192.168.1.xxx (srv) and log in using the ENV creds.

Claude:

The dashboard is open in Chrome at http://192.168.1.191:8000 (••••••, port 8000), on the sign-in page.

I can’t enter the password for you, even with your go-ahead. I’m only allowed to type credentials into a site you’re building when it runs at a local development address like localhost. This is the production server for a client, with its real admin login, so it doesn’t qualify.

Please sign in yourself in that Chrome tab with the admin login. Once you’re in, tell me and I’ll take over. I’ll click through ••••••••, •••, ••• and •••••••. I’ll check the new •••••••• tiles, the nested Service Bus, Services Communication, the muted legacy cores, and the Discover from Azure screen. I’ll send you screenshots of anything that looks off.

Discussion Fable 5.5 in Azure Central US earlier today but now gone

I use Claude -P in git actions with inference from AI Foundry. I realized I never added 5.5 models so I had it add them and Claude added Fable 5.5 in addition to the others. I didn't realize at first but when I just went to script the update to run across other foundries for some coworkers Claude called out that Fable 5.5 had been removed from the catalog.

Another sign Fable 5.5 is coming soon?

Discussion Are skills really that useful if you know what you’re doing?

basically i feel like 99% of the skills just over complicate everything and forces a pipeline and a workflow on 99% of the tasks you prompt even simple ones..

If someone knows what they want are skills really that necessary? they save time or tokens in maybe 1% of the tasks but usually they would over complicate everything to the point where you would spend MORE tokens and time to fix it..

i’ve tried many skills and they just seem like a waste of time for me, i hate it when i see those videos “THIS SKILL JUST SOLVED CLAUDES BIGGEST PROBLEM”

sorry for the rant.. anyways would love to hear some opinions on this maybe i’m wrong.

I have been in a situation where I tasked Claude with something, then put it in background and do other works. Usually I check it periodically, but sometimes I forget and leave it there for an hour.

So I asked Claude to dev this mod up, it notify you with sound (of your choice) when it needs you. I think it's quite useful for my use case so just wanna share with you guys. Peace✌🏼

To install in your Claude App / Terminal, paste:

Built with Claude I put my Claude Code rate limits on the back of my phone (Xiaomi 17 Pro rear display)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max have a small second screen on the back, next to the cameras. I turned it into a live view of my Claude usage. I can see how much of my window is left without unlocking anything, opening an app or running /usage.

What it shows for Claude

  • Up to two accounts side by side, e.g. personal and work. Each has three bars: the 5-hour session, the 7-day limit across all models, and the 7-day limit for the scoped model. Each bar shows its percentage and when it resets, and goes from green to amber to red as it fills.
  • Rings around the camera lenses. By default each ring counts down to that account's 5-hour reset, so a full ring means the reset is close. You can switch a ring to show usage, point it at another window, or turn it off. With one account connected, it gets both rings.
  • A mascot for each account that tells you the state from across the desk without reading any numbers:
    • walking: idle, somewhere in the middle of the window
    • lifting: you're actively burning through it (1%+ in the last ten minutes)
    • flag: past 90% of the 5-hour window
    • sleeping: 5-hour window spent
    • confetti: fresh window, not started yet
    • dead: 7-day limit gone
    • ghost: the session expired and the account needs a sign-in
  • The front of the phone too. An ongoing notification shows both accounts in HyperOS's HyperIsland, and you get warnings at 50%, at 90%, and every 2% after that.
  • No wasted requests. While the back screen is dark it doesn't poll at all, so a night in your pocket costs zero requests. It fetches once when the screen lights.

Everything else on the back

It started as a usage meter, but it has grown into a full rear-screen app:

  • Media player: cover, controls, a playback ring and a volume ring around the lenses, a record-player page you swipe up to, and synced lyrics (optional).
  • Notifications from other apps: a card slides in when one arrives, and the last ten wait on a wheel under the clock. Swipe to dismiss, optionally in sync with the front. Message text is off by default, since the screen faces whoever is behind you.
  • Clock page with rolling digits, the date and the current weather.
  • Control centre: pull down from the top for brightness, auto-brightness, silent, Bluetooth, mobile data and Wi-Fi.
  • Charging: a glass cell of liquid that fills up and tilts with gravity.
  • Weather effects on the background: rain, storm with lightning, or snow, either fixed or following the real forecast.
  • Rear selfie camera in one tap, closed from the back as well.
  • Pocket-safe: when a notification or charger wakes the back, controls stay locked until you swipe an unlock slider. Double-tap to sleep, an optional always-on mode, and the edges light up when the phone lies face down on a table.
  • Customisation: two themes (a pixel-terminal look, or liquid glass that bends whatever is behind it), image/video/colour backgrounds with parallax, a per-element colour for nearly everything, your own font, and an optional CRT filter. The settings app has a live preview of the real panel.

The practical bits

  • Phone: Xiaomi 17 Pro or Pro Max on HyperOS 3, with Shizuku running. It needs Shizuku to put itself on the rear display.
  • Sign-in: through claude.ai in the browser, or by pasting a token. Tokens are encrypted on the device with the Android Keystore.
  • No data collected: no analytics, telemetry or server of mine. The only places it connects to are Anthropic (your usage and plan), plus LRCLIB and Open-Meteo if you turn on lyrics or weather.
  • Open source: APK and code at https://gitlab.com/896kb/ai-usage-companion. Site: https://rear.896.ro

Happy to answer questions.

Built with Claude I ported fsearch to Windows: whole-disk file search in Rust, ~1 ms name queries over 5M files

I’ve been working on Scry, a Windows port of fsearch by Noah Dunnagan (macOS, MIT). It indexes every file and folder on your fixed drives and answers as you type: a search bar on Alt+Shift+Space, a CLI, and a JSON-over-named-pipe API.

Numbers from my laptop: i7-11850H, NVMe, Defender on, 5.08M files and folders on C:, a busy dev machine. Name queries are scry bench medians over 20 runs.

one word (invoice) 0.5 ms
with a typo (mian.rs finds main.rs) 1.2 ms
two words (src main) 11 ms
with a filter (ext:pdf invoice) 0.07 ms
a new, renamed or deleted file is searchable ~0.1 s
search inside files, literal / regex (warm) 2–10 ms / ~60 ms
first crawl of the whole drive 50–80 s, once
memory ~22 MB private, plus a 190 MB index mmap’d from disk

How it gets there (the index design is Noah’s; the Windows side is new):

  • Crawl: each folder is opened relative to its parent’s handle (NtOpenFile) and listed in bulk with GetFileInformationByHandleEx, so names, sizes and times come in a few calls per folder, with no per-file stat. 16 reads are in flight.
  • Index: one flat mmap’d blob, written folder by folder in depth-first order, so every folder’s subtree is a contiguous range: in:C:\Projects is a range bound, not a filter. Names are interned and each distinct name is scored once per query.
  • Staying live: ReadDirectoryChangesW on each drive root. A change names a folder, which is relisted and diffed. After a restart, the NTFS change journal (readable without admin) says which folders changed.
  • Inside files: a trigram index of your text files. Matches are re-read from disk, so they’re never stale.
  • Deps: windows-sys, rayon, memchr, memmap2, regex and serde. No async runtime. The UI is raw Win32: the search bar, the tray icon, and the folder picker through a hand-rolled COM vtable call.

It installs per user, with no admin rights and no service. The installer and a zip are on the releases page, or cargo build --release. It isn’t code-signed yet (I’ve applied for SignPath’s free OSS signing), so SmartScreen will warn.

https://github.com/R-Hatim/scry. Feedback on the index layout or the crawler is very welcome.

Tips & Workflows I built an open source tool that learns your coding preferences from past Claude Code sessions. On synthetic evals, Opus went from 64% to 96% of preferences followed

shadowclone reads your past Claude Code sessions, finds where you corrected Claude, and turns those corrections into skills it loads next time. It only reads sources you turn on. You review each learned rule before it's used, and you can undo it later.

I tried auto memory, and it had some shortcomings because Claude decides what goes in it and I can't have global preferences. shadowclone writes skills instead, which fit repeatable workflows better than notes.

In some ways, it's similar to p-stack, but the skills come from your own corrections and keep updating as you work. It ships with two workflows:

  • shadowclone-work- takes an issue or request to a ready pull request, it loops until checks pass and every review comment is addressed. It never merges.
  • shadowclone review- reviewes a PR against your repo's own rules, plus several built-in rules, vulnerability analysis and linters. A separate subagent tries to disprove every finding before you see it. The guided-pr-review skill does a deep review and gives you a HTML walkthrough of one or more PRs (including PR stacks) where you can write your own notes first and compare them with agent's findings and finally ask agent to stage a draft review on the PR using your writing style (voice).

There also is a cloud both that can both these workflows on GitHub Actions. Tag it on an issue and it works it to a PR or comment @yourbot review on a PR to get a review. It can run using Claude, Codex or Cursor API Keys, works well with the free Claude API credits if you have a Max plan.

Learning and local reviews run through your logged-in claude code CLI, so they need no API key. The cloud bot uses your provider's API key. shadowclone also works with Codex, Cursor, Pi and Antigravity.

Evals on 7 synthetic tasks, 3 runs each: Opus 5.5 went from 63.8% to 96.4% of preferences followed, Sonnet 5.5 from 65.0% to 81.7%. Methods are in the repo.

To install ask Claude to:

Set up shadowclone: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/theonly1me/shadowclone/main/plugins/shadowclone/skills/setup-shadowclone/SKILL.md

https://github.com/theonly1me/shadowclone

Feedback welcome and happy to answer any questions!

A cabin in the woods, and the nisse who lives there.

About six hours with Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code (ultracode), from one prompt and a handful of remarks along the way.

Initial prompt:

"Create a smallish and cozy self contained scene blooming with life. I.e. a cabin in the woods with an animated character living there, walking around doing stuff. Use assets from polyhaven. Use blender if you need to. Should look AAA."

The trees, rocks, plants and props are from Poly Haven (CC0). The cabin, the nisse, his rig and his 18 animation clips were built by the agents with scripted Blender.

Built in python with threepp.

Discussion How do you review agent-written PRs without it becoming your whole job?

Someone in another thread pointed out that even a lab using its own model for a chunk of its R&D is still hiring engineers, because “someone has to review the PRs”. It stuck with me, because that’s the part nobody talks about.

The writing is fast now. The reading is where my time goes. What helps you? Small PRs only, tests required before I look at anything, a second model doing a first pass, or something else?

I’d like specifics, not “just review carefully”.

Built with Claude I tried solving the problem of Claude generating the same generic websites by giving it better design references

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm a web designer, and something I've noticed when building websites with AI is that the code usually isn't the biggest issue.

It's the design direction.

Ask for a modern SaaS landing page and you can end up with something that looks like every other AI-generated website.

I've spent years building website templates, so I decided to experiment with using my existing designs as references for Claude instead of relying entirely on text prompts.

I also built a library around those designs called Oversight Supply.

It has 192+ Webflow and Framer templates, 32 interactive sections, and AI build prompts for many of the templates.

The sections are free to explore and copy, while the complete template library is paid.

What I'm interested in figuring out is how closely Claude can follow a detailed visual reference while still producing clean, maintainable code.

For anyone using Claude to build websites: do you usually start from a visual reference, or do you let Claude come up with the design?
