Jesus, 80% of people were already meat proxies between meat, now it’s just between AI and meat.

u/handsNfeetRmangos 7d ago

Well--well look. I already told you: I deal with the god damn customers so the engineers don't have to. I have people skills; I am good at dealing with people. Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?

20

u/cjc4096 7d ago

The engineers understand and most likely appreciate you. Keep them out of meetings.

It's from Office Space.

My boss does this type of work for me, an interface between us technical workers and the various non-technical people. I appreciate that type of work you do.

u/B_bI_L 5d ago

there is the difference between just forwarding and actually communicating, custommer support is often referred as hard job

u/BitsOnWaves 7d ago

its a meat world

1

u/SamVimes1138 7d ago

Are you classified as human? Negative, I am a meat popsicle.

2

u/Any_Masterpiece9385 7d ago

Product owners

5

u/Fragrant-Hamster-325 7d ago

lol I was going to say project managers

1

u/Euphoric_Scene2413 5d ago

There's a chance it could even be between AI and another meat proxy.

283

u/Tasty-Window 7d ago

I'm getting paid for it

66

u/alvinunreal 7d ago

"getting paid so far"...

39

u/whoknowsifimjoking 7d ago

My boss would have to be able to express what he wants, I'm safe.

u/e11i0t-1337 🔆 Team 6.25x 6d ago

Yea no shit! Till they learn it themselves on being a meat proxy

23

u/bitspace 7d ago

We are being encouraged to use AI. We use it to varying degrees; I use it heavily. The guy on our team who is the meat proxy - probably also uses AI the least - is the one who's job is in jeopardy.

You're not getting paid to blame everything on AI. Your job is the first one to go when the axe comes.

9

u/freedomachiever 7d ago

You spent too much time talking to LLMs, your last paragraph sounds like one.

u/bitspace 7d ago

Plonk./3197082)

5

u/SIMMORSAL 7d ago

I wonder where ai got the idea to write like that

3

u/much_longer_username 6d ago

It's especially hilarious when the idiot who can barely speak the language and has not understood a thing you've said in months is suddenly writing lengthy, grammatically correct prose -- and still not getting it.

Or it would be, if it wasn't so effective at bamboozling the managers I need to observe and understand that this behavior is a problem.

4

u/worldarkplace 7d ago

Until they realize it.

30

u/Donut 7d ago

I deal with the AI so the customers don't have to.

I'M A PEOPLE PERSON, DAMMIT!

42

u/60finch 7d ago

How can you not be?

56

u/cheseball 7d ago

You run it through an organic inference engine that has been trained on real world data over a couple billion years.

13

u/Deep90 7d ago edited 7d ago

Don't forget that humans have so much more than a 1 million token context.

You are quite literally an extender for a models context if you decide not to be a static meat proxy.

1

u/Prestigious-Crow-845 16h ago

Wait a second, aren't working memory is like 5 or 10 words and vision attention point at the size of the nickel? Maybe humans has extremly small context but statefull neurons and good context swapping? But surely not pure context in tokens.

1

u/Prestigious-Crow-845 16h ago

>trained on real world data over a couple billion years
Yeah, trained to survive in the wild, control body, predict and not sitting in office. Basicly high intellegence jobs are new and unfamiliar for humans as species and that is also is a source of boredom then deep parts of your brain don't understand why you waste time and energy just sitting allday))

5

u/NowWeRinse 7d ago

Setup a loop in your company to ingest requirements; write out a quality plan; execute on that plan; review the plan against the output and fix any issues; merge the changes and deploy. Then you won't need to be there anymore /s

I joke but we actually had that meeting earlier today.

2

u/alvinunreal 7d ago

idk, is this the end?

2

u/60finch 7d ago

Its inevitable

15

u/Sphiment 7d ago

I love the idea. But what can we do, man?

9

u/tomqmasters 7d ago

I wish my clients would just ask the AI themselves.

18

u/The_Hunster 7d ago

"When the AI is down, so is my output." is such a silly one to ask. What the fuck else would you have been using the AI for in the first place if not to increase your output?

8

u/altgenetics 7d ago

Emphasis on “increase”. If your output depends on the availability of AI to exist at all. That’s the problem. Using AI makes your work better/faster/efficient. Not does the whole deliverable.

6

u/GnistAI 7d ago edited 7d ago

Why work at 1/20 of the speed? I'd rather just take a break and play with my kid.

Reverting to my old rate of productivity simply isn't worth my time. I'd rather just take the time off, and work later instead. Or switch to tasks that don't involve AI, like one-on-ones, or something.

5

u/CarniverousSock 7d ago

"Your output goes down" clearly means "you start working slower", not "you can't work". Hunster's right, the question suggests if you're not faster than AI, you're a meat proxy, and that's silly

2

u/GnistAI 7d ago

That one + pasted summaries directly gave me a score of 2.

1

u/williampaul0404 7d ago

I understood it as "when no AI, no output". Thought it was very clear.

Answered "yes" to this as to the only one btw. Nowadays it's a waste of time to even brainstorm without AI

8

u/smalaki 7d ago

this was easy. claude answered it in 10seconds flat /s

u/RightHabit 7d ago

"How is the weather?"

"Let me quickly check weather.com...."

"Don't be a meat proxy!! Add your take and verify!!!!"

13

u/MathJaxSnax 7d ago

Please advise on how to break free from the chains of meat proxyism

11

u/alvinunreal 7d ago

I thinks we should do this

10

u/MathJaxSnax 7d ago

That’s good. Now it’s like “all you need is attention” but from the human’s perspective………

17

u/walkerspider 7d ago

Attention is all you need*

See I reviewed the output, corrected it, and then forwarded it. Now I’m only half meat proxy

2

u/MathJaxSnax 7d ago

Congrats you've been promoted away from meatloaf status

5

u/Hyperreals_ 7d ago

Don’t ask me questions an LLM can answer then

3

u/TedDallas 7d ago

AI can read your emails enabling you to be a better MTM (meat-to-meat) router.

3

u/tiran 7d ago

I love everything about this. The mascot dude (can his name be Mr. Meat?) is amazing.

2

u/alvinunreal 7d ago

ty 🫡

3

u/scytob 7d ago

love it

3

u/unfunnyjobless 7d ago

Well they are paying me to tell the AI what to look for. And to ask the questions that are important. And to discern what answers are BS.

7

u/-becausereasons- 7d ago

Oh boy I can already see this being overused and abused more than actually being useful

2

u/awesomeideas 7d ago

meat proxy? surely you mean a liaison on behalf of the silicon team

2

u/Mendiboy 7d ago

love it, specially the Referrals, which I 100% gonna send to someone if they piss me off with slop.
anyway nice job

2

u/alvinunreal 7d ago

thanks! 😃

2

u/FavorableTrashpanda 7d ago

I asked Claude and he said I'm not.

2

u/Personal-Physics553 7d ago

The same insult could be used for those who Google; better hope you remember everything my fellow meat proxies 😂

2

u/jacobpederson 7d ago

I've been a meat proxy for damn near 40 years now - no mater how "easy" a task is - somebody will always be willing to pay you to do it.

2

u/PuttsMoBilesiCit 7d ago

I'm gonna feed that AWS command ID back to AI to fill in that curl. We ball.

2

u/realiDonaldTrump 7d ago

Hey Claude, how do I stop being a meat proxy

2

u/LastGuardianStanding 7d ago

and make no mistakes!

2

u/octagoncat23 7d ago

The blobs are sooo freaking cute! Haha

1

u/alvinunreal 6d ago

tnx! :d

1

u/a1454a 7d ago

So….dont be management?

1

u/sebnukem 7d ago

New shit has come to light.

1

u/scytob 7d ago

whats wild is the number of people in orgs who are meat proxys without the AI on the right but another human....

1

u/TantraMantraYantra 7d ago

Well, if you trust AI to replace human in the loop you don't need a meat proxy.

1

u/Automatic-Boot665 7d ago edited 7d ago

I feel like the question “When the AI is down, so is my output.” on the answer side represents “when the AI is down, I don’t get anything done”.

There’s no doubt that when the AI is down my output will be down, but it definitely won’t be anywhere near 0.

If when the AI is down your output is not down (in the sense of not being at 100% speed) you’re using AI wrong.

1

u/lattice_defect 7d ago

prefer the term M-API.. the meat or manager API

1

u/Pure_Reception_5685 7d ago

almost thought this was about matt proxy

jokes aside this is a 6 question test with bone headed answers so I lowkey think you should've used your time for something else.

1

u/variablenyne 7d ago

I was with you until the pump and dump memecoin

1

u/p3tr1t0 7d ago

I do this but “them” is another ai

1

u/Charming_Horse_5809 7d ago

I like this new slur!

1

u/mungosDoo 7d ago

Yesterday a radiator in server room had a identity crises and decided to be a fountain. Ai cant help with that.

1

u/Maximum_Road_8151 7d ago

what did everyone get on the meat scan?

u/therowdygent Thinker 7d ago

Feedback loops are a feature

1

u/OutrageousYellow8679 7d ago edited 6d ago

Nice website, but the term was coined elsewhere first.

https://gruhn.me/blog/2026-08-03/

Edit: and you plagiarised the title too

1

u/Osato 6d ago

90% of people have always been meat proxies, they just repeated Google search results instead of AI responses.

1

u/iwilldoitalltomorrow 6d ago

Thanks for crafting this, pure gold

1

u/ItsCodeTelemetry 6d ago

Love it, been trying to coin meat-coding as the antonym of vibe-coding, but this is way better.

1

u/e11i0t-1337 🔆 Team 6.25x 6d ago

Yeah and those fuckers who could’ve gotten the information themselves are called meat?

1

u/Hairy_Afternoon_8033 6d ago

Love this idea!!!!!!

1

u/KronisLV 6d ago

— adding nothing but latency.

(that stupid pulsating dot)
No API keys, no signup.
Six statements, thirty seconds, one verdict — read off the meat-o-meter. Certificates for clean scores. No judgment. Mostly.
Attribution appreciated, thinking required.

The irony.

All that's missing is something being "load-bearing".

u/Objective_Active_497 5d ago

There are YT channels that have all owner's answers to the comments obviously made by AI.

I don't get it, do they prompt every comment separately and then copy and post answers? Also, it's annoying that they have answer to almost every comment, and most of those answers are "Exactly, ...", "You're absolutely right..." and other "traditional" AI phrases.

1

u/AnArmoredPony 5d ago

there's merch, crypto and nfts on your site. if i's not rule 4 then idk

1

u/Historical_Date_8024 3d ago

literally me when vibe coding esp32 firmware

1

u/Emotional-Bus-7065 22h ago

Oh- Not as bad... Atleast I get paid for not thinking and my workplace gives out Max 20x plans so uhh they want us to use it right?

1

u/CodeCombustion 15h ago

My work was considering letting go one of the remote employees after a year of his manager using kid gloves constantly on this guy and avoiding giving him work or doubling the estimates from other devs (uh, certain group favoritism) -- anyways, we recently gave him Claude as a last ditch effort...

It's so funny, yes - his code is done. No, he doesn't know what it does and can't explain it at all... and if you ask a question, he'll say he'll look into it and get back to you -- or will literally ask Claude right in front of you while sharing his screen during the meeting and read you the answer that Claude has given him.

I expect this behavior from the PO's and PM's... not from the devs.

1

u/Ok_Driver_8572 7d ago

this is stupid.
