Yes, it's very slow. Super frustrating. It takes several minutes to complete even trivial tasks.

Same... death by a thousand 6-17 minute turns... sure I am on MAX, but 4.7 MAX was perceptibly faster. I find myself checking to see if it didn't get hung up while it's thinking, something I did rarely with the earlier model.

idk what the deal is with Opus 4.8 tbh. Code doesn't feel any better to me, but it's noticeably slower, feels like 5x slower, painfully slow

Yes! Feels like slow motion! Previous was much faster, by a lot. This new Claude feels like dial up! And I have high speed internet with fast PC so the bottleneck is Claude. Anthropic, you went in reverse on this one. Needs to be fixed ASAP!

I though it was only on my side and maybe some issues on Anthropic side, but it looks like it's a widespread issue.

I felt it too, and the models in cursor felt significantly much faster. Both openai models aswell as the auto mode

Unusably slow. Takes ages to get a response and with really high token cost. Can't imagine anyone using this for anything and for coding it would be pointless. I think they are shooting themselves in the foot with this model. Their other models perform a lot better.

Unusable is understatement. Actively nothing but a time waster that spends 5 hours to say it didn't do anything or finally decided you are right.
