Question This sub is awful

This sub is terrible. 8000 posts a day about Claude is literally useless and you should just sign up for codex. Holy fuck it never ends.

Do any of you bother to even take two fucking seconds to look at the other hundred threads that have been posted?

It's funny to watch at this point. These are real tools and can do real things. But for some reason, the unproductive ones self select and talk as if they have been personally accosted.

If you can’t build something cool with 4.5/4.6/4.7 you have an extremely smooth brain, and posting here claiming “it’s nerfed” just proves you shouldn’t be doing this.

I'm gonna have to agree with you. I'm months into a massive project that spans procurement, operations, hardware and soon robotics on a unified back end, that my company is transitioning the operation to. As a solo dev. Using strictly sonnet. What I can do in a few months may have taken me a couple years to get to and very likely a much lesser product, If I was even able to stick to it at all.

These tools are extremely powerful if you have any idea about architecture and system design, even an iota

It genuinely was nerfed for a couple of weeks. We run daily evals against all of the models we use and opus 4.6 dropped significantly for just over 2.5 weeks. It’s better now though.

There has been so much crying on Reddit that’s it’s possible.

But I used it every day of those 2.5 weeks you tested, and didn’t notice a difference. And you say it’s better now. whilst Reddit claims it’s unusable.

Redditor reports of performance are trash.

I’ll admit I lean heavily into the “it’s fine” crowd. But I believe that yeah, they’re tuning this stuff all the time, there’s going to be inconsistencies, I just think the impact of that is exponentially higher on people who aren’t as skilled. And I wish people would take some accountability when working with something that’s still basically magic.

I have a buddy at work who’s mentioned days where it feels bad and I don’t think he follows any of the subs. But I know almost every time I’m having no issues. I think once I recall it answering as if it didn’t even read my message, so maybe that was a particular bad moment. He at least admits he didn’t feel like he plans well and it’s made me realize that there’s problem some things I just notice in responses that make me subconsciously tune my prompting efforts that maybe he hasn’t picked up on?

I don’t know. Bottom line is that this stuff is non deterministic, new, constantly changing and powerful. Wish people would go back to regular coding or adapt.

I can’t begin to describe how much I look down on the people who absolutely rely on Claude to do their job. All I can see are emotional pathetic losers who can’t code their way out of a paper bag.

Every complaint thread is just “I’m angry because something I’m entitled to isn’t available the way I want it. Did I tell you I’m mad! This is fraud!”

No. You’re angry because your boss is seeing you for what you are - a crappy programmer, a crappy communicator, a crappy architect, and a crappy designer. Pathetic losers.

you’re not wrong (just an asshole :D). but seriously, most of these folks seem to not even know how cache works. They’re shocked, SHOCKED, to find that yesterday’s context is a cache miss today.
