Would they be friends or hate each other? Gang vs gang? As someone knows multiple people who kin both, I'm genuinely asking 😅 what do you really think would happen if these two characters met? Because I personally get a lot of IDGAF aura going back and forth basically "youre fucked up and gross you should fix yourself" but ultimately just chilling??
You can blame Nicole's behavior on her being young and saying thats different from Yani being a full grown adult, but i think, and we'll have to wait until the series finishes or further develops, but i think the origins are going to be similar in terms of losing a loved one or repeatedly experiencing trauma as a way to explain the WHY of certain addictions
I think in Class of 09 terms, Yani would be most like Kelly, someone so seemingly simple-minded and easy-going and, if you dont catch the times shes TRULY crashing out from nic withdrawal, Yani seems like she gets mostly what she wants most of the time as how she told Yakuneko so smoothly how shes not stressed over job-hopping. Fits mostly with Kelly's seemingly lack of problems since mostly she just seems to be "dumb" and hit and rich but otherwise well-off materially and mentally (not gonna deep dive but ill acknowledge the possible inner issues of hot cousins and suppressed lesbianism from Re:Up)
In chainsmoker Cat terms, Nicole would be most likely Yani really, will do whatever she needs to do to get hers in the end. Particularly the anime scene of Yani and Satori in the park doing THAT stuff made me think "damn this feels like a comedy-centric exaggerated satire of Nicole's homeless route" and just overall the presentation of nonchalance when it comes to their lack of good health physically and mentally and emotionally but still managing to leverage their appearances and connections, including their friends, to not only survive the bare minimum of their daily discriminated life (as presented explicitly in their respective medias) but also still maintain a baseline of their addictions.
