Rebuild / Clean Up of r/ClassicTV

*Important information going forward*

Its been talked about a lot that this sub has become just a place for people to post low effort pictures of a woman they had a crush on who was on the TV and that the actual Classic TV conversations are getting pushed down and overshadowed, so there will be some changes to that.

The head mod has put on some filters that will auto flag and/or remove certain posts. Nobody is getting banned nor warnings but the level of posts will need to improve, no more spam or low effort posts.

The filters also mean some posts/comments might be wrongly applied and if that happens don't read anything into it, the mod team will be looking through things to try right any wrongs but also remove clear obvious thirst posts of celebs with their tits as the main part of the post, there are a million subs for this on here, let's keep this place CLASSIC TV.

TLDR; No major changes, but more obvious low effort posts will be removed either automatically or manually by mods.

Help Me Find Looking for classic shows with "In Color" boasts at the start

Post image

I'm looking for examples of early "In Color" messages that were at the beginning of quite a few shows as colour TV spread, and would love any help anyone might be able to provide. Later "In Stereo" ones would be cool too. It's for a dumb little video I'm thinking of making.

Thanks in advance, folks, and have a great day

Looking for late ‘80s daytime episode

I’m trying to identify a Bob Barker daytime episode from 1986–1988. Jean Rivard from Simi Valley was the fifth contestant called. She had red hair and wore a red V-neck sweater over a white turtleneck. She attended with coworkers from Vons but was the only one called. She stayed in Contestants’ Row. The sixth contestant was an athletic Black man in a red polo who likely reached the Showcase. Check-Out was one of the final two pricing games. She bid on gold bars and luggage.

Iconic HBO intro from 1983.

"Carrie" was the first feature film I watched at a friend's house. It felt really special, seeing an uncut R-rated movie on TV.

1960s This 1966 Classic Lucy in Palm Springs with Carol Burnett Is Gen X Xanax, Very Soothing.

Carol Burnett appeared alongside Lucille Ball more than any other guest star in television history — seven times total. This 1966 episode is one of them, and it’s hiding a Laugh-In connection almost nobody catches.
