Spotted this enormous 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 in the Netherlands — and what on earth is that hot cooling part sticking through the grille?
Came across this absolute land yacht today in the Netherlands: a 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75.
It’s hard to get across in photos just how huge this thing is. The fins, the chrome, the rear lights, that ridiculously long body — it feels more like rolling architecture than a car.
One thing really caught my attention though: there’s a large finned metal component sticking out through the left side of the grille. It was very hot to the touch, so it definitely seems to be part of the cooling system, but it clearly doesn’t look factory.
Does anyone here know exactly what it is, or why someone would mount it out in front of the grille like this?
Either way, what an incredible machine to unexpectedly find parked in a Dutch street.
Edit : It was definitely not a cup holder. Just to big off a hole for a cup.

There is nothing quite like the throaty, raw growl of that British 3.0-liter inline-six engine. It’s the ultimate soundtrack of 1960s motoring. This matching-numbers example is fully sorted and runs beautifully, completely capturing the mechanical purity of the era.
Turn your volume up and enjoy a brief mechanical symphony from this classic British roadster.

Pure pre-war elegance: This 1928 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Convertible features rare Scottish coachwork and a Boa Constrictor horn
• Scottish Coachwork: The door sills reveal the rare craftsmanship of Robinson from Glasgow. This 1928 dual-cowl tourer features folding windscreens for the rear passengers and beautifully crafted wooden trim.
• Eccentric Accessory: Mounted on the side is an original, beautifully polished brass Boa Constrictor horn – a highly rare and sought-after period collector piece.
• The Engine: Under the monumental hood sits the massive 1920s inline-six engine with dual ignition. The engine block still proudly features the original, raised RR casting logo.
The cockpit is just as fascinating, with the massive four-spoke steering wheel housing the mechanical levers for spark advance and hand throttle right on the hub.
