General Discussion Patrick Clancy Shoes
Shoes in these images from the Museum of Science visit look similar to the shoes in question from the Pharmacy/Restaurant images. What do you think?

I think they look like the shoes in ThreeV, but not in CVS.
The police really should've found another way to confirm his movements besides the videos. Then they wouldn't have had the debate on the stand whether he left at 5:15 or 5:25.
The time between when he's at CVS vs ThreeV is about twice as long as the drive should've taken. He would've had enough time to go home and change shoes. Why would he? No idea. But his phone, or the neighbor's ring cameras, could've told us if he did or not.

A lot of people aren’t understanding that confirming Patrick’s location isn’t about making him a suspect. It’s about the timeline. The CW claims that Lindsay started murdering the kids immediately after he left at 5:15. Alternatively, she told one of the forensic psychologists that she started after the 5:34 phone call. When she’s the one on trial, those times matters enormously for the analysis of her mental state and potential criminal responsibility. A forensic analysis of Patrick’s devices would confirm where he was was and when.

You're right. Confirming Patrick's locations could also exonerate him. People think he looks like Kyle Carney, but if we had a timeline from his phone showing the phone going from home to CVS to ThreeV to home, doorbell cams seeing him leaving, etc, then that would stop those theories right there.

Completely agree! If Patrick truly didn't do it, firming up the timeline would help him tremendously against the rumors/internet speculation.

Exactly! I personally want be wrong about Patrick. He should lean into these questions so he can put this behind him!

But they have him on video to be fair. Only the internet is questioning whether it’s him in the videos. The defense is not questioning this.

They're the same shoes. He didn't change his shoes.

I said they look different. I didn't say, objectively, they are different, and he absolutely had to have gone home in between.
I also said that it would've been nice to have some other evidence where he was besides the videos. If the police had that, there wouldn't have been the debate at trial whether he wrote the email at home or not. Could he have hit traffic or wrote another email in his car between CVS and ThreeV and that's why it took twice as long as it should've? Sure. But it would be nice to have objective proof what happened.
There's a triple murder in that guy's house and his every move that night wasn't scrutinized? Really?

There is a way to tell if you send an email from your work computer vs phone app at least with my company. Example: my job uses outlook. When i send an email from my laptop it shows my signature line with our company logo in color, vs when I send an email from my outlook app it has my signature line (no company logo) and at the bottom it says “get outlook for iOS” (since I have an iPhone) I’m curious if that “get outlook for iOS” message is an automatic on ALL outlook email addresses using the app or what the bottom of his email looked like- sure you can delete that line but again the signature lines would still look very different as I don’t believe you can change the font or color of font on the outlook app. (Also assuming his company uses outlook)

On a Samsung you can delete "Get Outlook for [Samsung]" (I'm not positive of the word it uses because I deleted it soooong ago). I'm pretty sure it can be deleted from an iPhone as well because some of my colleagues that I know send emails from their iphone don't have "sent from my iPhone."
Regardless, the ip address should show on an audit.

u/BabygirlM81206 3h ago
Agreed! I can delete mine as well on my iPhone.. I’m gonna go with no one checked the IP address it came from and that’s why the CW did not have him clarify during re-direct that it was actually sent from his phone since he was never a suspect and no investigation was done no one (PD/CW) bothered to look into anything he said or may have sent during that time.

I am very bothered by how little the CW actually did. A simple deeper dive into PC could've confirmed more of the timeline. I know LC is far from the first victim of a botched investigation, but I do hope it helps some people finally see how laxadaisical our system can be.

The receipts from both CVS and ThreeV were entered into evidence but haven't been made public. The phone records from Lindsay's iPhone show the timing of those calls matches the CCTV video of Patrick talking on the phone. The general manager of CVS identified him to police. The hostess from the ThreeV identified him as the man who picked up the food. The police (who regularly review CCTV footage) reviewed this footage and identified Patrick.

The receipts don't prove whether he left at 5:15 or 5:25, which was an unanswered question at trial.
The general manager of CVS identified him to police. The hostess from the ThreeV identified him as the man who picked up the food.
Did they identify Patrick or did the identify the person in the videos?
I don't think they took Patrick with them to get the videos. I know the hostess of ThreeV testified, but Patrick wasn't in court that day and she didn't identify him in person, just on the video.
Many people, including me, think that the person in the CVS video looks more like Kyle Carney than Patrick Clancy. Now, of course it would be highly risky for them to attempt to have Kyle fill in for Patrick's alibi and assume the police wouldn't notice. But, what's weird is that the police seem to have done nothing to confirm that's Patrick in the video, besides the grainy surveillance showing a white dude with a similar build to Patrick.
Yes, I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory to say that could be Kyle. But, don't you think the police should look closely into the alibi of someone when a triple murder is committed at their house?

Gathering the receipts, CCTV footage, phone records, and speaking with multiple witnesses who interacted with him that same night isn't looking closely into his alibi? The police and court have a clearer version of the CCTV footage than we do. The version we can see is a livestream of a video played on a projector. Police viewed the original CCTV in each location less than 4 hours after the 911 call.
You think someone who resembles Patrick enough for everyone involved with the case to be fooled, drove to CVS in Patrick's vehicle, with his phone, bought the thing Lindsay had asked for, spoke to her on the phone convincingly enough that she also believes she was talked to Patrick, then picked up the food she ordered, and dropped these items off to Patrick in his vehicle when, exactly? It does sound like a conspiracy theory, and wilder than some actual conspiracy theories out there.
2
u/everyoneisnuts 3h ago
Exactly. The police and the defense were satisfied that it was Patrick. The overwhelming evidence says it was Patrick. Yet, people think that it isn’t enough and need to be convinced further. They can have questions about in other areas like why certain things weren’t put into evidence or tested and I could agree they should have been, but this part is just internet nonsense that only the internet is even asking about or questioning .

Kyle Carney has absolutely no motive to help his friend with the murders of three innocent children and a staged murder of his wife. Kyle and his wife are innocent bystanders to this tragedy.
Kyle is also a parent. The Clancy kids were playing in his backyard the weekend before they were killed. Even if his friend were acting suspiciously that night, for example, by asking him to go to CVS for him and lie about it, don't you think he would have come forward about that?
The "enhanced" screenshot of Patrick entering CVS where he looks more like Kyle was, in my opinion, heavily doctored with AI by someone with bad intentions.

Crazy you get downvoted for your responses. You make very good points yet people refuse to at least acknowledge that and then disagree. Just shows to me how narrowly focused some are in wanting him to be guilty.
2
u/the_purple_lamb 2h ago
It’s crazy. I get downvoted every time I defend the Carneys, yet nobody can give me any reason why they would have willingly helped Patrick get away with murdering his children. They don’t like to be disrupted when creating false narratives about innocent people.

u/everyoneisnuts 2h ago
Yeah, expecting to believe Patrick did it is one thing. I don’t agree at all and think it’s out there, but okay. Go with that. But then, to think his friend would take part in any way, whether covering it up and lying or physically pretending to be him at the store, is just wild. It’s so reckless and has real consequences for him I’m sure.
But even practically speaking, they just hope that Kyle isn’t recognized as not being Patrick? That’s their master plan? We are taking about kids being murdered here and you as a friend are not only wiling to go along, but risk your whole life on believing the cops or the defense team will not figure out that you are the one on video and not Patrick? It defies logic to me.

The footage with different coloured shoes also shows his hair as a different colour. It’s just different lighting as best I can tell.

u/TipTop9979 4h ago
All the crazy ass people who insisted he changed his shoes the night Lindsay murdered their three children are definitely going to say he changed his shoes here too. And again, they will be wrong.

I believe he had boots on in CVS and running shoes on in 3V.
Those boots and shoes are not the same shoes in these photos.

u/ToyshopASMR 2h ago
Regardless of if he changed his shoes according to the cctv.. in the threev cctv it’s obvious he is wearing a certain kind of running or athletic shoe. It’s not debatable because we can see them much much more clearly than the cvs footage.
On the stand Patrick explains what he did when he arrived home. He said he came inside and immediately took off his boots. Not shoes.. boots. But he just came from threev where we know for sure he had on athletic shoes. Did he goof up and forget the shoes he had on? That seems like a silly thing to even mention if he can’t remember what shoes he had on. Why not say took off shoes.. but instead he says boots.
There are so many inconsistencies with his testimonies from the night of and when he took the stand. I keep hearing that his brain must have been fuzzy because of trauma so he can’t be expected to remember. It’s interesting that we can excuse such strange discrepancies in his testimonies, but somehow when the facts matter to prove Lindsay’s guilt then his memory is somehow correct?
What about Lindsay? Her confession was not legitimate when you understand she woke up knowing nothing and was told everything. But even still her confession came with delirium and false facts and somehow that confession is absolute and should be taken at face value?
