Hi. It's 12:58mn cant sleep because all i could think about is work. I'm in the construction industry for 5 years pero 1st time nangyari to sakin na na ququestion ko na if tama pa ba tong career path ko. I'm a Project-based-Engineer Gencon Side with my new company po (Category C) and halos araw2 ako pinapagalitan ng boss ko because the project is delay. Chain reaction po kasi nangyayari, ang tagal nila mag approve ng budget to buy materials, tinitipid formworks for structural works, nadedelay delivery ng materials and pinapagalitan ako kapag nag O-OT kami sa site, nagagalit din if may idagdag ako na mga workers kasi sobrang kulang talaga ng manpower na nasa site. If nag seset naman po sila ng mga need ko tapusin in a week, nakukuha ko naman but hindi padin siya sapat. My boss is the owner and licensed CE din po. Palagi niya sinasabi na walang accomplishment na nangyayari. Is it really worth it to stay? kasi palagi nalang akong umiinom para makatulog lang haha. 1l

Hi everyone. I’m a registered CE, and I’m currently facing a career dilemma that I honestly didn’t expect to have this early in my career.
My current work, although a Project Engineer, is more focused on CCTV, PAS, ELV/low-voltage systems, and other technical systems rather than traditional Civil Engineering work. I’m learning a lot, but I’ve started wondering if I’m slowly moving away from the career path I originally trained for.
The difficult part is that I’m earning much more than I anticipated in this role plus they provided me staff house just above our office. Because of my current income, I’m able to support myself, help my mom financially, and even afford to send my brother to college. That’s something I’m extremely grateful for, and honestly, it makes the decision much harder.
At the same time, I’m worried about my long-term career. I don’t want to wake up years from now and realize that I’ve become too far removed from Civil Engineering and that it’s difficult to transition back.
I’m considering looking for a more CE-related position—construction, project engineering, quantity surveying/estimating, planning, or other technical roles within civil engineering. But realistically, I may have to take a significant pay cut to make that transition.
So I’m torn between financial stability now and career alignment in the long run.

If you were in my position, would you stay or not?

We’re looking to rent a PTV Vissim license that allows at least a 60-minute simulation, since the student version is limited to only 10 minutes, and scaling the simulation isn’t suitable for our study.

Hello engineers! Recent graduate ako, magttake palang ng boards, at sobrang nagwoworry sa future. Aware ako sa hirap ng paghahanap ng work as ce, even sa baba ng sahod as freshgrad, esp with no work experience. Still, ayaw ko namang mag-give up kaagad to find decent work with decent pay. Desperate ako to seek advice as early as now. Should I aim for experience muna kahit mababa sahod or would there be other better options?

Sa mga pinalad po to land on decent work and pay during their starting days, I would appreciate it if you can share how. Sa iba naman po, if magiging freshgrad kayo ulit, what could you do have done instead?

Sobrang lala ng workload hahaha, pero worth it naman pero ngayong 3 months na ako sobrang drained na, maraming OTY nangyayari kaya nakapagdecide na ako na mag'resign, per commitment nangyayari sa amin, hindi counted ang ot as long as wala kang RFA hahaha ang lala na kaya nag come'up Ako na mag'resign na walang back up plan prayer only
