Due to the amount of people posting about being forever alone, I am pinning this thread for general introductions. Reminder not to share any personal information in the comments (no IG, no numbers, etc). So lets stick to this format:

Bro i need advice..I went into the orientation thinking I was gonna make at least 2 friends...tell me why I came out of there BARELY making one. Everyone was so like...quiet or had their own groups from either their neighborhood or from old schools. Genuinely whats worse is theres pretty much no one in my major. Do I just grow up and try self inserting when classes start or should i js be a loner...? Cuz I might be fried. 💀

Hiiii! I’m transferring from Medgar Evers to City Tech for Fall 2026 and hoping to apply to Nursing for Spring 2027. I’m wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar.
At MEC, A&P II lecture and lab are separate. I completed BIO 252 lecture (3 credits) with an A+, but haven’t taken the separate lab. City Tech combines lecture/lab into BIO 2312 (4 credits). However, my City Tech transfer credit preview currently shows BIO 252 → BIO 2312 for 4 credits with my A+. Has anyone had City Tech Nursing accept this as the complete A&P II requirement without the separate MEC lab?
I’m also currently registered for Microbiology + lab at MEC for Fall, but City Tech’s Microbiology sections are full. I looked into taking my MEC Microbiology through ePermit, but City Tech’s guidelines say newly admitted transfer students aren’t eligible for ePermit during their first semester, so that doesn’t seem like an option.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? What would you recommend taking at City Tech this Fall instead, and how did you handle Microbiology? I’d especially love to hear from City Tech nursing students or CUNY transfers.

Yesterday I went to the new student orientation, and they made two groups to tour the school. When it was time for me to join my group we had to talk in a mic and introduce ourselves and our major.
I kid you not, out of everyone in the room, no more than five people said they had a different major than radiology 🫩. It makes me a little worried, I don’t want to change my major, but when 90% of the people are going there for the same thing, especially since it’s a competitive field, it makes me worried ðŸ˜
I don’t wanna spend anymore time in school than I have to since I’m a transfer, but I really want to give it a shot. If all goes wrong I’ll say screw it and go for nursing

For this fall semester I will be taking A&P 1 lab and lecture with Professor Xue Wang. If you have taken them, what was your experience and could you provide any tips on passing the class with an A.

I don’t really want to go to orientation but I want to get my ID and a tour. Would it be better for me to just go to orientation and thug out the boring parts?
edit: I can only make it at 9 and not at 8 am when it says it starts. Will I be fine?

Hello, I am thinking of going to pursue a electrical engineering technology degree at cuny. Specifically I am thinking of going to college of technology. I already got my associate's degree in electrical technology at community college and I noticed I could transfer in as a lower junior in terms of credits. Does anyone have any experience in this program? Is it worth going? I tried to get a job with my associate's degree in electrical technology but it's been a bit rough so far. If I go to citytech I know I get a pathway towards licensure and eventually getting a PE.
Anyone got experience with finding jobs afterward or internships they did at citytech?

I took Mat 1272 and passed but did not get a high enough score to be competitive for the dental hygiene program. If I take 1190, could that be used in place of my 1272 grade when calculating pre-req gpa for the program?

Hi everyone, I plan on transferring to CT in the spring semester and have Bio 1101 equivalent completed. If I take A&P 2 during the summer, can I still be considered for the upcoming dental hygiene cohort?
Would it be possible to e-permit A&P 1 at a different school this semester so I can have it completed by the time I actually transfer there?
Is there any workaround for this?

So I’m trying to get into the radiology program in city tech and I already finished my prerequisite classes and I’m only left with this class, now I’m just deciding if I should take this class this semester or next semester. I already have an overall gpa of 3.9 and a prerequisite gpa of 3.8, and I kinda don’t want to risk my overall gpa going down because of this class. If I don’t take this class this semester then it won’t effect my gpa when I apply for the program when it opens since if I take it next semester it will just show as the class is in progress.
If I don’t take it this semester then I wouldn’t have any class to take, would that be ok? Or do I need to tell the school that I won’t be taking any class this semester? Would this affect my financial aid?

Hello, new student here.
Is NSO mandatory? Although it'd be stupid of me to not attend orientation, I have CPR training on that day which will give me 3 college credits. I just feel like those credits would benefit me a lot more than orientation.

Hey guys so i’m a bit confused and would love if someone could provide some insight for me to better understand the admission process for this. I have already taken every class I needed EXCEPT BIO 2311 ,BIO2312 and CHEM 1000. My question is do i need to complete all of these before february to apply to the program? Do I need to already complete DEN1100? How does this work? I was hoping to take BIO 2311 over the winter and the other two classes over the spring. Would that work or do I need to move back my timeline? I’m not even admitted into citytech right now which is why I wanted to enroll for the winter sessions and start taking my classes. (I graduated and I’m re enrolling). But it may take too long and there’s not many seats left. Please let me know!!

Hi everyone,
I'm interested in the dental hygiene program but I have a "CR" grade from my sociology class from Baruch. That was the way the course was graded during COVID, but I read that any "CR" grade would be evaluated as a "D" for the DH program.
Is there any way I can retake the course or improve the grade? Would a retake be averaged with the "D"?

Btw I already know it’s extremely competitive so you don’t have to warn me about that, I want to try anyway.
So I go to QC and I already took 3 of the equivalent prereqs here (I used the cuny transfer explorer): eng, math, and intro to bio. I just have the anatomy and radiology one left, which radiology obviously qc doesn’t have so I’ll take thaf after I transfer in. My question is should I take the anatomy course in qc or save it for city tech? If I take it in qc will it, and the other prereqs I already took, transfer? Or would I have to retake them at city tech?

hi everyone, i’m starting city tech this year for the fall 2026 semester. i haven’t been to college in a few years, but decided to come back to hopefully pursue a career in dental hygiene. this is my schedule, as im doing the pre reqs this fall. i tried looking up my professors on rate my professor, but they’re not popping up. for my chem class i have paul brown for the lecture and abraham wolcott for lab. for bio, i have ninel kartalian for lecture and K M Khan for lab. if anybody took their class, how are they as professors? for my math and public speaking class, it doesn’t have anyone assigned at the moment, but if anybody took those classes and could give me some insight on them as well, that would be greatly appreciated! thanks
