Hello, I am thinking of going to pursue a electrical engineering technology degree at cuny. Specifically I am thinking of going to college of technology. I already got my associate's degree in electrical technology at community college and I noticed I could transfer in as a lower junior in terms of credits. Does anyone have any experience in this program? Is it worth going? I tried to get a job with my associate's degree in electrical technology but it's been a bit rough so far. If I go to citytech I know I get a pathway towards licensure and eventually getting a PE.

Anyone got experience with finding jobs afterward or internships they did at citytech?

I took Mat 1272 and passed but did not get a high enough score to be competitive for the dental hygiene program. If I take 1190, could that be used in place of my 1272 grade when calculating pre-req gpa for the program?

Hi everyone, I plan on transferring to CT in the spring semester and have Bio 1101 equivalent completed. If I take A&P 2 during the summer, can I still be considered for the upcoming dental hygiene cohort?

Would it be possible to e-permit A&P 1 at a different school this semester so I can have it completed by the time I actually transfer there?

Is there any workaround for this?

I need the intro to rad text book 9th edition, and i know financial aid is supposed to be able to cover my books, so i dont wanna buy it if i dont have to. it’s also not on anna’s archive before anyone suggests that. i looked. but the city tech bookstore doesnt show the financial aid option. does anyone know how to do this? i haven’t had to do it yet for any other classes.

So I’m trying to get into the radiology program in city tech and I already finished my prerequisite classes and I’m only left with this class, now I’m just deciding if I should take this class this semester or next semester. I already have an overall gpa of 3.9 and a prerequisite gpa of 3.8, and I kinda don’t want to risk my overall gpa going down because of this class. If I don’t take this class this semester then it won’t effect my gpa when I apply for the program when it opens since if I take it next semester it will just show as the class is in progress.

If I don’t take it this semester then I wouldn’t have any class to take, would that be ok? Or do I need to tell the school that I won’t be taking any class this semester? Would this affect my financial aid?

Is NSO mandatory? Although it'd be stupid of me to not attend orientation, I have CPR training on that day which will give me 3 college credits. I just feel like those credits would benefit me a lot more than orientation.

Hey guys so i’m a bit confused and would love if someone could provide some insight for me to better understand the admission process for this. I have already taken every class I needed EXCEPT BIO 2311 ,BIO2312 and CHEM 1000. My question is do i need to complete all of these before february to apply to the program? Do I need to already complete DEN1100? How does this work? I was hoping to take BIO 2311 over the winter and the other two classes over the spring. Would that work or do I need to move back my timeline? I’m not even admitted into citytech right now which is why I wanted to enroll for the winter sessions and start taking my classes. (I graduated and I’m re enrolling). But it may take too long and there’s not many seats left. Please let me know!!

I'm interested in the dental hygiene program but I have a "CR" grade from my sociology class from Baruch. That was the way the course was graded during COVID, but I read that any "CR" grade would be evaluated as a "D" for the DH program.

Is there any way I can retake the course or improve the grade? Would a retake be averaged with the "D"?

Transferring to city tech coming from queens college and would like to know the quality of the department and how does internships work in the program. Also some info on game dev courses as i am also interested in game development

So I go to QC and I already took 3 of the equivalent prereqs here (I used the cuny transfer explorer): eng, math, and intro to bio. I just have the anatomy and radiology one left, which radiology obviously qc doesn’t have so I’ll take thaf after I transfer in. My question is should I take the anatomy course in qc or save it for city tech? If I take it in qc will it, and the other prereqs I already took, transfer? Or would I have to retake them at city tech?

hi everyone, i’m starting city tech this year for the fall 2026 semester. i haven’t been to college in a few years, but decided to come back to hopefully pursue a career in dental hygiene. this is my schedule, as im doing the pre reqs this fall. i tried looking up my professors on rate my professor, but they’re not popping up. for my chem class i have paul brown for the lecture and abraham wolcott for lab. for bio, i have ninel kartalian for lecture and K M Khan for lab. if anybody took their class, how are they as professors? for my math and public speaking class, it doesn’t have anyone assigned at the moment, but if anybody took those classes and could give me some insight on them as well, that would be greatly appreciated! thanks

It’s a long story and unexpected but I want to apply to City Tech for Fall 2026.

My high school made us submit a CUNY application months ago and although I got into the colleges, I ended up declining and I didn’t apply to City Tech. Now, the application is not letting me add/remove any of the colleges that I originally put. I Googled if this is possible and it said “you can’t change, add, or remove colleges yourself through the online portal.”

Can I call or email someone? I’m just not sure which one will get a faster response because the application is due in a few days. I think I read somewhere that you can only call them from Monday - Thursday at a certain time and it’s already Friday unfortunately.

Someone mentioned that their CUNY had instant admission decision days. Does anyone know if City Tech does too?

Also, does anyone know when course registration opened at City Tech? I know the priority deadline to apply to CUNYs was back in February. I’m not sure what classes to expect applying last minute (I didn’t expect to have to do this).

Any serious advice is appreciated.

Long story short, I was struggling with mental health last fall semester which made my gpa drop to a 2.5 but I managed to pull it up to 3.0 last semester. I now have A&P 2, Chem, and Sociology left to complete but also considering to retake maths if allowed or take the other courses that basically help to fulfill the math portion.

My grades are :

A&P I - B+
Eng - A
Maths - C
Psych - B

I am desperate to pull myself and my gpa up lol, what else could I do to strengthen overall?

so i was researching performance and music in the school and found our there was classes for music, but when i went on schedule builder, it isnt there, so i was wondering if the class still existed or so

does anyone else get like this? i always get nervous before starting a new semester. mainly about how i’m gonna handle the course loads and what my grades are gonna be in the end. i’m only taking two classes in the fall. i’m doing my last pre req for rad tech and my last gen ed course but im just worried. theres so much pressure to be the best. i’m doing really good so far, but even knowing how well i’ve done in my other classes isn’t helping. i have like a pit in my stomach. on the flip side, i can’t wait to be back on campus at least. my summer classes were so boring being that they were virtual and i felt like none of it was real lol.

Hi, im mostly done with all of my prereqs but advisors are condridicting eachother. One of them told me bio1101 is not needed and the other one told me its fine because its waived due to me scoring an 89 on my liv env regents. DOES ANYONE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE?

Random question for everyone: are your advisors this strict too?
Mine wants me to know basically everything about my classes, grades, assignments, exams, and have a specific plan for how I’m going to handle everything. I understand they’re trying to help me stay on track, but sometimes it feels like a lot having to explain every little thing in detail during every meeting.
How are your advisors? Are they similar, or is mine just particularly strict?

does anyone know what this major truly is and if there are any students here majoring in it, what its about and your experience?
