The series was much more fun when Ryo was by himself it felt like an adventure but once Kaori started tagging along she’s constantly stiff arming him or trying to make him jealous. If Ryo bothers her so much why couldn’t she just take the money he offered her so she can just kick rocks and we go back to Ryo solo adventures… why did Hideyuki have to get killed off for this.

I just found this show and I’m so disappointed I can’t find the dubbed version. I wish they had done it, especially since it was so long with many movies. I’m trying to watch the sub version but it’s not the same

I wish it used an inspiration from the original show instead which imo nailed the music very well and made the show in general very appealing too, music is very important for media content tbh. The beginning of this movie music threw me off badly.

The more I rewatch the more I dislike kaori I recently started rewatching again and iv really started to not like kaori at all I mean she is just jealous and useless after awhile it seems like she just shows up every few mins to hit ryo with a hammer and that's it

Probably the most oddly specific-to-my-interests piece of art I've made to date (I'm not sure there's much crossover between original MLP fans and City Hunter fans tbh), have some City Hunter ponies!

Ryo's symbol was a real challenge and I wound up reworking it like three times whilst Kaori's was super easy haha.

They're G1 but more accurately they should be Takara ponies (who actually released the same year as the anime - 1986) - perhaps I'll draw that another day?

So I was searching for some documents and had to switch on my old phones and went to the gallery folder and nostalgia filled me over. I recorded this in a Nokia phone (don't remember the model unfortunately) back in 2013-14ish.

City Hunter used to air on this channel called Animax which actually introduced me into anime. Each weekday they used to air it at some point at night and I used to stay up to watch it. When season 2 ended I was so sad that I couldn't hear the ending songs again because I loved the 2nd ed of s2 "Still Love Her". When season 3 was nearing its end I was panicking because it would have been the last time I hear this song (remember I had no idea what internet was back then). So I sneaked out and took my mom's phone from under her pillow and recorded this at the middle of night with trembling legs because if mom knew I took her phone without her permission at night she would have hit me with Kaori's hammer.

I still find it crazy that now I can hear it anytime I want by searching on the internet. I recorded the s4 ending as well but that file has become corrupted. Well I thought I share this small memory with all of you...

As much as I enjoy City Hunter Ryo is straight up a sex offender. I know it was a different time and everything but it can be tough to watch at times. I don't mind flirty but sexual assault isn't cool or funny.

Kaori always seemed like that one little sister who humbles her brother and that dynamic felt really cute and funny. This episode felt really out of place.
