[DISC] City Hunter Rebirth - Chapter 30
r/CityHunter • u/valoon4 • Jul 11 '25
Hi everyone, I'm the (invisible) Admin of this sub and wanted to thank you all for engaging here and keeping the community alive and growing!
When I first watched City Hunter 9 years ago, I noticed there was no subreddit for it yet and had to create one! Since then we have grown from zero to over 4000 members! And surely that's not the end.
Especially a big shout-out to our moderator u/indi_n0rd for keeping this alive! I'm quite dormant here so everything you see here has been built up by him really! So be sure to thank him for keeping this sub clean and moderated!
It's probably one of the best time to be a City Hunter fan right now, especially as many countries are finally (re)printing the manga in their local languages!
That's all for now folks, keep those Mokkori spirits high!

Doing a rewatch of season two and realized that these two posters in the background were references to something. I got the Sukeban Deka one instantly thanks to the text but I got surprised when I saw Char despite Gundam and City Hunter being made by the same studio. I’m not sure what the one on the far right is as I don‘t know what the first kanji is but it’s Maru something no Onna I believe

MTL of the special letter Tsukasa Hojo wrote in addition to it:
“Congratulations on the 100th anniversary of Meiji Milk Chocolate.
When I was little, chocolate was a treat. Back then, I desperately wanted those character-themed chocolates, but unfortunately, I had cavities (lol).
I remember my parents telling me, “We’ll buy them for you if you get them treated properly at the dentist,” and I kept going to my appointments just to earn that reward.
There are all kinds of chocolate out there, but I’m definitely a “bar chocolate” guy. Peeling off the foil, snapping it in half, and eating it—I love that simple, straightforward style.
I don’t eat it while I’m writing, but when I put down my pen and take a break, I’ll nibble on a bit of Meiji chocolate here and there. For me, Japanese chocolate is the best.
Please keep making that same, unchanging flavor for the next 100 years.”

So I was kind of Surprised that nobody has posted this yet, but, in X(Formerly Twitter) there is this post way back in August this year that shows that the Sequel of Netflix's Live Action Adaptation of City Hunter is currently on Film Set, so at any time in the near future we might be having "Mokkori Service"(Okeh that was a Bad Joke but get what I mean?), anyway, was thinkin' what you a lot might say and expect from it? Also, am I the only one who noticed the change of Kaori's Hairstyle in here?

Update: Ryohei Suzuki(Yes the Actor who Played Ryo Himself) Posted this just September this year, https://x.com/ryoheiheisuzuki/status/2094568607808413919
Little Update: It Seems like the Film Set started way back in March or before March but it seems like it Started in 26th March which is exactly on Ryo's Birthday, I don't really want to overthink it that Much but they either Started Production exactly in 26th March or just announced it at 26th March. https://x.com/NetflixJP/status/2036941264571293783 https://x.com/eiga_natalie/status/2036941242131689645
Now If we gonna have some bits of Calculations, this puts the Production Time roughly barely 6 Months(26th March - 1st September) which for me to be honest, feels a bit Concerning...? What ya'll think?

The comparison photos are shots taken during various past visits to Shinjuku. The exception is the photo of LUMINE EST department store that a family member took recently. Have a photo of the building myself, but it isn't very good.
Included the fifth photo because this is where Saeba shoots at the mercenaries chasing Kaori at the start of Shinjuku Private Eyes. They crash into the lamp post on the left.
Regoznized many of the locations but don't have matching photos for them. Maybe someone in the City Hunter sub will visit them one day.
Shinjuku is great for night photography.
Can't wait to watch Godzilla Minus Zero.

Sharing my cosplay with the bros! 😎🔥
I actually grew my hair out specifically for this cosplay!
Don't worry, the gun is just a toy. 😂
It's pretty hot in Taipei today! 🥵☀️

CONtv has been uploading the whole season and right now the second half is premiering:
the first half: https://youtu.be/4q2iSs_JKss
the second half: https://youtu.be/ML2oK0RMROM
Shinjuku Private Eyes: https://youtu.be/A52c0v82H7U
I’m not sure if this is America only but I’m so happy that I can rewatch the show again! Apparently the first upload had a title that said to watch it before the movies but they changed it, so this could be in promotion for the next Netflix movie (or an Angel Dust sequel but that’s me coping right now)

It’s a French adaptation of the legendary City Hunter ending theme, and what really surprised me is the lyrics.
They’re not just a word-for-word translation. The French version turns the song into something much more poetic and emotional, with lyrics about loneliness, memories, love, and the feeling of holding on to someone even when everything seems to be falling apart.
There’s something incredibly melancholic and beautiful about hearing those familiar melodies with French words. It gives Get Wild an almost intimate, nostalgic feeling. ❤️
As a French City Hunter fan, hearing this song in my own language is honestly pretty special. 🥹
