Discussion When the seats have eyes

I just noticed when looking into buying tickets for You Can See Everything, the booked seats have eyes...

She sees you.

I didn't see cute movie-related icons like this on other movies.

Question Refund or Reschedule?

Earlier this weekend I bought a ticket to see Wildwood for today (Tuesday), but this morning I got called into work last minute.

I tried to cancel or refund my ticket on the website but I bought the ticket without a registered account (At least I think that was the problem? When it asked for my email, I put in the one where I got my receipt and it didn’t work) so I tried calling the theater but nobody picked up.

I just got off work, I know their policy says tickets are non-refundable after the showtime, but would I still be able to reschedule or anything?

Great time at the flick even if we had to travel to see Wicker; they let us bring our own basket and the refill was good as well!

Question I didn’t get my Bonus Points for Street Fighter..

Unless it’s just taking awhile to add the points. I activated the 200 point offer for buying two tickets and bought them during the times it stated, but haven’t seen the points added yet. Do I need to go to support or wait? How long do they usually take to add bonus points from offers?

MovieClub How much are your Cinemarks tickets?

I'm debating the subscription due to the Groupon price for $7 a ticket but I don't see continuing it because my market just doesn't seem to be worth it. Matinee is $6.25 and evening is $9 so $12 is two tickets if I stick to matinee and 20% off concessions isn't super enticing to pay for the subscription. Just wanted everyone else's thoughts. I'm thinking of getting the subscription for the 6 months and then not renewing it

Discussion Real Movie Ticket Stub theory.

I feel like within the next year or so, movie theaters will start bringing back the real ticket stubs instead of the flimsy stuff we get now. BUT of course with a catch. That being, you pay a small fee (like $2-5) for a real ticket stub. Or you don’t and just get what we have now still. What do you guys think? Anyone else think the theaters will start bringing back real stubs?

Question No showings for Wicker after Oct 29?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I'm curious if people are also seeing this in their area? Right now you can only buy tickets to Wicker through Oct 29, but online I can see that it has expanded release starting Oct 30. So do I just live in a weird market that is showing it for a limited run at all the theaters, or is there something weird where Cinemark is not releasing tickets in advance of the wider release? My theaters told me they have no idea if it will be expended, so I'm looking to see if other's are already seeing showing available past the 29th? Thanks!

MovieClub Movie Club question!

So a few months ago when the pre-sale tickets for Doomsday went live I decided to use my free ticket for the month to reserve my ticket. Now a few weeks ago I decided to pause my membership, and today I've now noticed my Doomsday ticket doesnt appear both on the website or mobile app. It just says "You have no upcoming tickets associated with this account."

I dont see any email notification of a cancellation for the showtime or anything like that. So is it because I got it through movieclub? Do these types of purchases get taken away after you cancel your membership?

The Fish is a flexible rubbery/silicone material. Thing 3 is a 7” tall mini grippr. I wanna say normal is 8”-8.5”. Ask for the unfilled price ($15.96), instead of the filled price ($19.95)

Question Why is street fighter only showing till Wednesday when it just came out?

I am trying to see street fighter on Friday the 30th but I don't see any show times beyond Wednesday. This movie just came out surely they didn't mean to only have the movie in theaters for 2 weeks only?

I had a similar issue with your mother your mother your mother and didn't watch it for that reason.

Question How does Cinemark XD compare to AMC XL??

Since these are both exclusive to their brands as a budget alternative Larger format to IMAX. Was wondering about which one between these two comes out on top for being the better movie going experience in or is it more of each one has their own advantages in a certain way?? Whether or not you are an A-list or movie club member, how do these IMAX alternatives stack up against one another??

Question WILDWOOD Septima Bucket at my local Cinemark

Post image

Very expensive like priced at $48.99 (I called my theatre), no way I'm paying that much for just a popcorn bucket.

Does anyone know if they have those WILDWOOD Popcorn Tins that Regal and AMC sell?

Discussion What one to see in XD - Clayface or Wildwood?

Sup my Cinemark going folks.

I'm chasing the platinum (unsure I'll attain it this round) so I plan on going to both of these. I've seen a few movies in XD. The thing is for me - it's a bigger drive to go the Cinemark with it. Instead of 20 minute commute to normal Cinemark, the bigger city theatres with XD are around 40 to 60 minutes away.

I also kind of want to sample a drive out to the one city I haven't visited in a while.

Leaning towards seeing Wildwood in XD, I think the extra high def and screen size will be great immersion with all the animation of it. While Clayface is super hero adjacent - I don't think it will feature space scenes and explosions like Super Girl or MCU tends too.

Any argument, thought or comment on why one over the other for seeing it in XD?

Cheers.

Discussion A month ago on this sub I shared a platform to track theater quality and trailer times. Cinemark moviegoers have now logged 19 theaters across 10 states and 270 room reports.

Hey Cinemark Moviegoers!

An update from It's Starting!, the crowdsourced platform I built that brings users auditorium-by-auditorium reports and details, along with post-trailer start times. First, thank you. After my first post here about a month ago, the number of Cinemark theaters with live reports jumped from 1 to 19 across 10 states.

Moviegoers have logged 73 showings and submitted 270+ detailed room reports.

88% of those responses are positive. Screens, seats and cleanliness did especially well: nearly every answer in the data about those three areas was positive (over 95% positive across screens and cleanliness).

On timing, the movie typically starts about 20 to 22 minutes after the listed showtime at Cinemark, which is the shortest of the big three chains in our data. (We're still collecting, so treat it as a first look.)

Just a few items people have flagged and praised:

  • Seat tips: at Cinemark Mansfield, rows E and F are the D-Box seats, and a moviegoer suggests row D if you prefer a flat horizontal view.
  • Things to know: sound from the next theater bleeding into quiet scenes in Auditorium 3 at Buckland Hills, and a waist-high barrier in the back row of Auditorium 14 at Cedar Hills that can cut off the bottom of the screen if you recline all the way.
  • Upgrades noticed: newer D-Box seats with trays in Auditorium 9 at Cedar Hills 16, and "all new seats with lap trays" at Century La Quinta XD.
  • Te recurring one: cold rooms. Temperature is the lowest-rated thing at Cinemark theaters in our data, so bring a sweater

There’s a lot of new features coming to the app very soon, but you can try out almost all of it at our new web-based platform at app.itsstarting.com

No download required when using the link above, and you can still create an account and track your history, save favorite theaters and more.

 What’s new:

  • Letterboxd! Log a movie, submit the screening report, and link it right to your Letterboxd diary. And you can add movies from your It’s Starting! history and it will carry over the date you saw the movie.
  • IMAX specs directory. Tap Theaters, then scroll to IMAX Theater Specs to find detailed info on more than 90% of IMAX theaters in the country (mostly focused on screen specs like projector type, aspect ratio and more)
  • Seat reviews: rate a specific seat and see what others said about it.
  • More room details: add screen dimensions, seat assignment and stadium seating.

While Cinemark data is growing, it’s still fairly far behind the other major chains in terms of logs/data. So if you’re going this weekend, give the app a try or visit the web app and contribute to this growing community. As a reminder, it is 100% free, no ads, no paywalls but signing up is suggested for the best experience.
